Don't take your pet here if it is a real emergency. This vet literally killed my cat…read more We brought him here about a month ago because he was not acting right. The vet did an exam and (after $1600) determined that he was diabetic. Prescribed insulin and then assisted with monitoring his glucose levels three times a day for five days ($35 each glucose check). His levels were not leveling out so the vet recommended we purchase another vial of insulin because the first vial didn't seem to be working (another $100). When his glucose was still not leveling out, the vet kept our cat for several hours to assure that the insulin was being administered correctly and still his glucose was high. The vet then told us to stop giving him insulin and monitor him for a week. The vet did not suggest that we try a different type of insulin. We did not administer insulin the next day. By the evening, our cat was acting lethargic. He had a seizure in the morning and we rushed him to a pet hospital in Homosassa and they took him in immediately. Our poor cat was in kda - diabetic shock. He passed away soon after being admitted. They said he should have never been taken off of the insulin. Our family is heartbroken by the loss of our sweet cat and we are also out thousands of dollars while we were desperately trying to take care of him. We did every thing the vet instructed us to do and paid every single fee that was charged to us trying to take care of our boy.

it's been almost two weeks since I lost my little girl, three weeks when I took her in to see why…read moreshe wasn't eating. I've owned dogs for over 40 yrs of my life. I moved her 6 yrs ago, had a hard time finding a Vet to go to, went one place, it was awful, so I came here. Things seemed okay for wellness checks and vaccines, although I did have to correct them once on the rabies vaccine, since they were trying to start off with a 1 year, and I mentioned I've never been behind so she should be getting her 5 year, but that being corrected I'm good. This time yes, she wasn't feeling well, wasn't eating as usual, take her in, Dr. H comes in looks in her ears? okay we will do some bloodwork, yet they come in with the clipboard to show you a price, the tech points to it, and you have to basically say okay, then they want to run an additional test from that blood, and in comes the clipboard again with a much increased price, okay, I want to know what's happening? Needless to say we sat for 2 1/2 hours in that small room waiting. Speaking with Dr. H , I was concerned about her not eating, he replied " she's not going to die if she doesn't eat " , I'm looking at him and thinking but she'll get weaker. So, they tell me renal failure, give her fluids, send home meds, recommend prescription diet, you should see an improvement when you take her home, keep up water intake and meds. Well, let me tell you, we watched her decline daily, she wasn't getting better! She was declining, trying to get meds down her, oh and one implied with food, okay she's not eating! I'm syringing watered down food down her to get something in her, along with meds and water. But hey they wanted her back in 10 days for more bloodwork! Needless to say I brought her back 7 days to cross over the rainbow bridge! Not open on Saturdays, oh but send you somewhere else if needed! What a joke! Won't ever go back or recommend, all about the $$$$ for them! Dr. H you need to retire!!!
