Great shop! They were able to take me without an appointment. I got Rob and Rob is such a cool dude. Easy to chat with and the cut was exactly what I wanted. Very clean and he took his time. Every chair was taken and when I looked around, I could tell the guys were professional. All different types of cuts and they were all clean. I just moved to this area and found out about Ambicious through a guest of mine from my restaurant. I have been super loyal to my barber in Fresno for 10+ years so haven't really looked but ended up trying out this place and will be coming back weekly. Ambicious did an amazing job with my cut and was professional on all ends. He was all business which was great to see because some places aren't professional with language and the other great thing was he was on time and didn't make me wait for a long time. Overall the barbershop is cleaned up very well and in a prime location for the college right across the street. There is plenty of seating and the facilities were nice and clean and there was also plenty of parking which was nice. I highly recommend this barbershop to anyone new in the area and make sure to book with Ambicious the barber AKA Pedro because he will change your life with his clipper skills! read more

I went to this barber shop a week ago was in town visiting family and decided to check this place out . Needless to say I will not be returning here or recommending this place at all . No greeting when you walk in they just stare at you and look back down. Way to go on customer service! I got some kid, told him what I wanted and hour and 20 mins later he was finally done. I got a fade just back and sides with a beard "trim" and a lineup . Well after I got home day by day I noticed the unprofessional job that had been done to my beard and hair. My beard I had been growing for 8 months is now down to just 1/2 in. In length and that I had no choice but to because of the hack job and the holes that were left in it. He was free handing my beard and took chunks off of it , and the lineup completely uneven . My fade inches shorter on one side than the other . What I'm mostly pissed about is my beard and how long it took to get to the perfect length and just wanted it cleaned and shaped . I'm not one to leave bad reviews unless I am pissed ,and after giving him 40 dollors including tip , OVERPRICED , for a shitty job. Pics are at bottom check out for yourselves. Rob did a great job listening and cutting exactly how I wanted my haircut and beard cut!

You guys have no inclination of how to respond to potential clients. Your customer service is poor. I am disgusted that I had waited for an hour and not one person greeted or asked if I had an appointment or if I was a walk-in. I was patient as customers before me were getting cut, I was patient to see who would acknowledge my presence, who would let me know they're ready to cut my hair, but I was ignored for actually more than a hour. Never in my experience across America or overseas being in the military have I gone to a barbershop that didn't address every person that walked in. Your lack of customer service is disgusting. I would have been much more accepting had someone gave me a wait time, or told me when I'd be next, I mean how do you fail to simply communicate something. Disgusting! If I could I'd rate zero! Edit: It was my first time coming to this shop. Lack of communication or acknowledgement isn't excused by a sign. Being short staffed also doesn't excuse you from having the decency to acknowledge your clients. With one entrance it's very easy to give a greeting and ask are you a walk-in or have an appointment. I won't bring my boys here that's for sure. read more

Ok, all right I have been here before I just want to say I like the barbershop and the fade I got was okay..The price on the wall says $23-$24 and up for a haircut. I thought the service was decent the haircut was decent not the best but definitely not the worst I have ever got, I gave The Barber 30 including tip. So I went last week to get a fade and what I got was just a basic fade and a basic haircut there was nothing extravagant about it. I went to Pay the Barber and he tells me he went up on his prices and now it's $35 for a basic haircut?!?! I'm sorry but that is ridiculous and a complete joke! Really?!. There's other barbershops in town that charge less than that and you get extras with the haircut ergo. You get a hot towel at lather a free combing and style and in Some shops even get a free beer. I heard on here some of The Barber's claiming they have spent thousands of dollars on their school and they feel entitled to $35 for giving a basic service and a basic haircut. That's a complete joke! I have been other Barbers that are on a another level than these guys With better skills, And they don't feel it's necessary to screwing over their customers with prices for the basic service. And he to top it off he was trying to sell me one of his ugly baseball jerseys and wanted $40 for it. There should've been a red flag right there. I wish these guys Bethel that but I will not be returning here it's not worth it, And I feel sorry for any of the continuing customers that continue to go there. And trust me I'm all about you know Barbers raising the prices or adding services with the prices but not to keep it basic and then up the prices that's not just, That's just screw people over. Love this barbershop. Both my husband and I go to Stephen there and he is an awesome barber who takes his time and makes our hair look great. All the staff there are always in a good mood and it makes for a nice environment. And now they have really smart looking uniforms which adds to their professionalism. I took My 2 y/o son there and he absolutely hates getting his hair cut .. he'll barely sit in the chair, in fact , I had to sit in the chair myself and have my son on my lap .. anyway the gentleman(3rd chair in from the righ) that cut my sons hair was super fast, super focused and super skilled! Because with a squirmy/ fussy 2 y/o , you just gotta get it done! My son started to feel more comfortable once he realized that this guy was quick and he was already almost done!! Just moved here from the bay and they give excellent haircuts out there but for 20 bucks and the economy out here Merced nope I do hair for my kids now I'm 52 years old since they were kids I have 6 kids but for 20 bucks nope it won't happen. Just moved here from SF not too long ago & tried 2 other shops in Turlock before trying this place. Those other 2 spots were either just unprofessional by not keeping appointments or not acknowledging u when arriving or just plain not good cuts. Here the owner Rob always greets u when u walk in & makes sure your comfortable & able to get a cut. I get a bald fade & Rob always leaves me feeling like a million bucks when he's done. I like how they are centrally located and they have convenient hours and times. The place also is swanky and clean ... important because I've been to barbershops here where the floor is littered with cut hair (kind of disgusting). Came here with my son to get some fades done and a beard trim for me. I liked the fact the place is clean and close by my house. The best part is they are open on Sunday's when most shops are closed. I walked and the guys were friendly and asked us to have a seat. Their lounge area is cool with movies on the tv. My son and me got Nick. He was quick, professional, and did a great job. I was curious about the name (it signaled that I could get a haircut there) but skeptical because it is Turlock (a small rural town). To my surprise the shop was clean, had a great atmosphere (mostly students getting haircuts), and the "Barbershop" talk wasn't distasteful or disrespectful. I am a returning customer because Stephen is a great barber. The first time he cut me he spent time getting to know me. He gave me a taper and lined-up my facial hair like the big city barbers. Stephen takes appointment or walk-ins. He is detailed orientated and takes great pride in his work, as do all the barbers at Humble Beginnings.
