OB Thrift is one of the better thrift stores in the Ocean Beach area but definitely needs some…read moreimprovement. I came here to try to find some tees and was shocked at how high the prices were for very worn looking tees. Since I didn't want to spend over $20, I took my time making sure I only bought what I thought were in the best condition. After 30 minutes I finally bought 2 tees for $18 which was still pretty expensive but I guess it's better than spending $40 for a brand new one. Overall my shopping experience okay but I don't think I'd come here again.

No "thank you" or "have a nice day"; he just walked over and whispered to the female owner standing behind him. My intuition meter was abuzz, but I didn't want to think the worst. Then the Square receipt hit my email and proved my intuition. They tipped themselves $5 on my $19 thrift clothing purchase. I called immediately and told him I knew what they did, and he didn't apologize just said it would be refunded. It's been over 48 hours and nothing. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person they've done this to, just happened to have my email saved with Square. This is disgraceful business practice and the BBB and Square will be notified. So check your receipts or better yet, take your business to people who don't steal from their customers. Square receipts attached in case they even try to discredit what they did.

I'm giving it 3 stars because workers are meh here. I recently came to try and sell some items to make extra cash and declutter. I came 15 mins prior to their opening. When the worker finally came and opened the door, I walked In with one bag of items (I had more in my trunk but wanted to see if they wanted anything first). Literally I'm one of three other potential customers in that store and there are two workers and I stood waiting for them to ask me for assistance. But they were talking about something I wasn't listening to ( it was not work related). Finally they asked to look at my items and informed me I could look around the store so I did. Finally I went down and I guess the lady was done looking through my bag so I asked if there was anything she wanted and she said no thank you not this time. Cool!-I was kinda annoyed because I looked at their website the night prior to see what they would take but it just says to come in and bring your things. So I had to ask, why wouldn't you take anything and what do you look for. Something she could've informed me...she stated they look for things like free people and topshop. I'm thinking can't you post this on your website so ppl know and don't come in with a bag full of items that won't be accepted. I had Guess, Elliot Luca, Victoria's Secret, Zara items. They do not accept those, which is fine but the worker seemed like a snobby hipster. I guess it's better to buy from there then to try and sell.

At least my friend Nacira and myself were loyal fans and customers, so we were really upset when we saw the sign 'closed' back in October. We were waiting to see what would be there later on, and today I did not left the new store disappointed. Same type of vitrine, with attractive clothes, and to my surprised this is a second hand store (although you can find many pieces with the label on it). The soft lavender of the walls has morphed into a pale turquoise with a Caribbean accent, even more exaggerated by those super cool green doors of the dressing rooms. Even the old tree that used to be gold colored now is neon green, very catchy. That is one of those giant trees to hang necklaces that anybody with enough junk metal or plastic would love to have at their house place. So, similar ingredients inherited from Twirl. About the clothes...I fell in love with the many cotton skirts, soft and feminine and floral. I tried like 20 pieces, only could get home a very sexy fitting vintage dress and a festive canary yellow and white 60s style dress, $4.99 each. Amazing prices and a lot of selection, both for men and women. Everything excellently organized and we were very nicely welcomed by the guy working there today Sunday, who is from Tijuana and was very attentive to my friends and I. I mentally bookmarked this place to come back soon and browse til drop, as my friend Nacira (one of my shopping comadres today) did not enjoy the change that much, she is still missing the other store. For me, this one is now even more refreshing as I love deals and tons of different things and all I could see is that I liked 90% of what I saw, independently if it was not my size.

Instead, it feels like someone with no understanding of value is pricing these donations based on wishful thinking rather than reality. I've seen chipped home décor, worn clothing, used kitchen items, and damaged furniture with price tags that made me laugh out loud. At these prices, I'd rather spend a few dollars more and buy something brand new with a warranty and the ability to return it. Goodwill has forgotten what made people love thrift stores in the first place. Until pricing becomes reasonable again, I'll gladly take my business to local thrift stores where donated items are actually priced like donated items.

But then they had plenty of other pieces of beautiful furniture and saw this credenza we also needed for the place. Jorge was not pushy and gave us some time to think about it. Jorge was really responsive to any other questions we had even after visiting the shop over text. They do offer delivery service as well and that was coordinated smoothly and on time. I highly recommend swinging by this place for furniture or decor (plenty of artwork). They do have an Instagram account too and you could ask them about any of the pieces you see on the account.

Dog friendly! Cash only but they do have ATMs. Plenty of parking. Great staff! And they have bathrooms! But not as fitting rooms lol.
