Recycled Modern is SUCH a neighborhood gem. I stopped in earlier today for the first time, and left…read morewith an amazing new t-shirt and a pair of handmade colorful long earrings. "Wait, I thought this was a furniture store" - you might be thinking... Well, I went in for an entryway table (aka a catch-all table for next to the front door of my condo) and I found something I loved that wasn't quite the right size. Shari immediately reached out to the maker of the piece, and now I am getting one from her that is custom fit for my home! She has lots of beautiful pieces in the store, but if you don't see what you're looking for, be sure to ask about it. Odds are, if it's not in stock, Shari (or any of her employees) can probably help you find or build it. In addition to shirts, earrings, and furniture, Recycled Modern has a nice collection of beautiful wall art, and plenty of vintage glasses frames to try on (along with the option to order your own lenses to fit, for those who are basically blind without glasses like myself). Plus, candles! And as far as I could tell, any of the new items were all made by independent (largely local) makers. Vintage items sourced from all over. Just go. What else are you going to do. There's a pandemic. Go get a cute coffee table to make up for that plane ticket you didn't get to buy last year.

There's a large selection of books, most 3.00 and under, mass market paperbacks 50 cents, and periodically there are good old ones from the 50s or 60s. Some items are cheap. Some are costly. They also sell the very high priced stuff online, but there's still plenty of great stuff in the store itself. The bathrooms are old but super clean and not creepy like in some places. There are real antiques, beautiful furniture, art works, plastic storage tubs, all kinds of glassware, figurines, etc. Don't listen to the complainers. I go whenever I can and almost always find something I want.

I really wanted to love this place, especially with its claim of being the "world's biggest." While…read moreit's certainly packed with an incredible array of items, that density actually makes for a frustrating shopping experience. The aisles are so crammed that it's impossible to navigate with a shopping cart, which really limits your ability to browse and buy. It's a shame because there were genuinely interesting items, from high-priced antiques to thrift-store finds, but the difficulty in moving around made it hard to truly appreciate them. After driving over an hour and 15 minutes to get there, leaving empty-handed was quite a letdown. While I appreciate that they at least had a bathroom, which allowed me to stay as long as I did, the overall hassle overshadowed any enjoyment. I'm not sure if I'll make the trek again for a second chance. I had high hopes, but ultimately, this place just didn't live up to them. Still worth a try. I did find that the employees just sat around on their phones so I couldn't get a feel of who they are. One actually scolded me for trying to pick up and item

They're really nice! The prices reflect a nice yard sale, but I'd say it's good bang for your buck!…read moreThere is SO MUCH to look through I didn't even look through anything besides the jewelry because I got so overwhelmed but if you like scrounging around I'd definitely come here. They're also reasonable with their prices, they'll meet you in the middle but remember they do have to make a profit so don't expect to come in here, grab 10 things and walk away with everything for $7... everything in the picture I got for $40! They even threw in the little butterfly for free!

Basically you're just playing Pawn Stars haggling with the man at the front (probably without any experts involved.) Don't get me wrong this store got plenty of business and customers throughout our visit here. The store itself is chaos and unorganized. In the men's restroom it's absolutely awful because they have stuff thrown and shoved all over the bathroom and around the corners it seems like it's definitely a fire hazard just walking around. One of the weird things I found was a checkbook from many years ago. Nobody should be selling that that thing needs to be sent to the fire. They do have some decent finds but nothing out of the ordinary.
