I wouldn't recommend this place. For one, it is not worth…read morethe money...there isn't a lot of music playing going on with the way they do things. There is a lot of sitting around and waiting your turn unless you are one of the favorites. The kids don't get to play songs they like and are interested in, they are stuck with a specific "theme" each time. They have too many kids in each class (for instance, 8 drummers and each one gets one song) For the concerts, again, unless you are a favorite you won't get much play. (But they will have one kid up there the whole time, doesn't make much sense) I was sent a survey, just like the other reviewer said, & I didn't obviously didn't score it very high. Chris was also very distraught and basically attacked me when I showed up to concert day while I was with my son. Told me I needed to check my email immediately and fix the score I gave. He is very rude. & 100% all about the money, just like another said as well. He doesn't care about the kids (unless you're a house band member) and just isn't a friendly guy. Find a different place!

It has really developed her interest and appreciation of music she wouldn't normally be exposed to! The teachers are very patient and teach at an age appropriate level. She does wish there were more females in the band though! My younger daughter is in the Rookies program, and it's been great to expose her to different instruments and watch her love something about them all! It's expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for!

This is a great school to learn music with some very talented musicians - Ms. Entela…read more(violin/piano), Mr. T (piano), Mr. Paul (guitar), and others. They teach other instruments as well and offer both in-person and remote classes. Ms. Entela tries her best to schedule classes based on our convenience and scheduling needs. She is very responsive over texts/calls and is very prompt in keeping us informed about any changes in schedule due to inclement weather, etc. She is a great musician herself and she doesn't only teach music but also teaches the discipline, form/posture, and the etiquette of musicians. Mr. T is super calm, patient, and composed and is a great teacher. Little kids love being taught piano by him. Even though my kids haven't been taught by Mr. Paul but from observing his interactions with his students and their parents, he sounds like an incredible guitar teacher. His students seem to be very fond of him and prefer his teaching. - Ria

I can't say enough about The Art of Musique. My daughter started lessons with them less than a year…read moreago but her growth has been tremendous. Ms. Entela and Mr. T are both so good at what they do. They have a passion for music as well as a passion for teaching and it shows. I know a big part of my daughter's love for music has come from working with Mr. T on the piano. He is exceptionally attentive to details, helping kids (especially little ones) feel comfortable, and really pays attention to individual interests, ability/talent, and goals. You can tell he really cares. It's not everyday you find a studio that has both good instructors and management that embodies integrity, accountability and a willingness to meet the needs of its students/families. I'm so glad I found them when I did, It has made a big impact in my daughter's life and it is something she will have forever. We would highly recommend The Art of Musique!

Chris, without any notice or discussion with us, decided to dismiss my son from the school this morning, because I responded to a SoR customer survey that he didn't like. My concern and issue was mainly with the new ownership who I believe has changed the 'School of Rock Farmington' from a music loving family culture to a money focused operation that takes advantage of the love we have for our kids. Shortly after Chris took over the Farmington location, my first conversation with him consisted with him telling me how poorly the school used to be run by the prior management and how he was going to make everything bigger and better. Soon after the ownership change, Eric, the former GM, along with many other staff members that we loved, were gone. While I really didn't like the changes that I was seeing, I eventually decided to ignore it because my son was so in love with drumming. And most recently, I had an "interaction" with Chris over paying cover for two young kids that we had in our group from this past Sunday's mid-season concert. When I asked him why our 6 yr old daughter and her 6 yr old cousin needed to pay for cover (because little kids didn't need to pay before), Chris immediately got defensive and angrily told me that since he became the owner at Farmington everyone needed to pay no matter how young. Then he went onto tell me how expensive it was for him to run the shows and called me "petty" for even bringing this up. My son really loved the school and all of his teachers and friends he made so far at SoR Farmington. He really fell in love with drumming and really fell in love with music, which I credit the prior SoR management, and all former and current teachers and staff members for. My son and my family loved the program and would like to thank everyone at 'School of Rock Farmington' that looked after him. He's currently heart broken, but I'm hopeful that he will find a better school that looks out more for the kids than their own ego and bottom line. P.S. My brother-in-law emailed Chris this morning (without me knowing) because our whole family is heartbroken right now. Chris responded back saying that he will have my son back in his school as long as I changed my review score to an 8. I have no intentions of making any compromises and don't need to have my son back at his money/review hungry institution. I hope Chris well too and wish him luck as he tries to make a ton of money off the kids that just wants to love music.
