So I started looking elsewhere. After a lot of research I called Grosse Pointe Music Academy. The staff was very professional and was able to answer all of my questions. All of the instructors either have a degree in music or are working toward their music degree - unlike other "schools" where apparently being in a band qualifies you to teach music! The location looks and feels like a music school, with sheet music books and an understandable billing system - a far cry from whatever was going on at the other place (Axis!) where you never saw any sheet music and you felt like the manager found the instructors by cruising local bars - "hey dude, you can play guitar, do you wanna teach?" I am excited for their June recital! I would highly encourage anyone to give them a try.

The teachers are engaging with both the kids and parents and teach us about the fundamentals of music while having a ton of fun! The location is also perfect for kids and during class the kids are free to move and play with each other and the parents. Music Together is a great program, but Hummingbirds Together makes it even better with great teachers! As my daughter ages I will look to the Canton Music Academy for additional music classes as well since the teachers are of such a great caliber.

He is super friendly, took an hour of his time to show us the school and store. He took my son into the recital room and gave him a mini-lesson on the Grand Piano, which made my son's day. I knew by the end of the tour that this is the place my son should take lessons. He has been there for three months now and loves the school and his teacher. Today he had a recital, and it was great to see how hard the kids work on perfecting their craft. If you are looking for a place for music lessons, this is the place to go. They will take great care of you, and I'm so glad we stopped in.

The person we dealt with was awesome. He acknowledged it was in poor condition (dirty) and gave us a tuning key off the shelf and installed it for us before we left. I went looking around for yet another salesperson. I found a young lady in the back that looked like she was busy breaking down boxes. It seemed like she didn't want, or know much about guitars. I guess bottom line is, if Guitar Center isn't making the money like they used to, they should look to themselves for the problem. Sincerly An addendum to the above complaint. ...2 hours later I want back to get my son's guitar worked on, that went great. The guitar tech was named Greg. However, while I was waiting for the guitar to be repaired, someone BOUGHT the guitar I wanted and planned on buying. Now, I really annoyed! This man got the service I was supposed to get!

This is a great school to learn music with some very talented musicians - Ms. Entela…read more(violin/piano), Mr. T (piano), Mr. Paul (guitar), and others. They teach other instruments as well and offer both in-person and remote classes. Ms. Entela tries her best to schedule classes based on our convenience and scheduling needs. She is very responsive over texts/calls and is very prompt in keeping us informed about any changes in schedule due to inclement weather, etc. She is a great musician herself and she doesn't only teach music but also teaches the discipline, form/posture, and the etiquette of musicians. Mr. T is super calm, patient, and composed and is a great teacher. Little kids love being taught piano by him. Even though my kids haven't been taught by Mr. Paul but from observing his interactions with his students and their parents, he sounds like an incredible guitar teacher. Ms. Entela and Mr. T are both so good at what they do. They have a passion for music as well as a passion for teaching and it shows. I know a big part of my daughter's love for music has come from working with Mr. T on the piano. He is exceptionally attentive to details, helping kids (especially little ones) feel comfortable, and really pays attention to individual interests, ability/talent, and goals. You can tell he really cares. It's not everyday you find a studio that has both good instructors and management that embodies integrity, accountability and a willingness to meet the needs of its students/families. I'm so glad I found them when I did, It has made a big impact in my daughter's life and it is something she will have forever. We would highly recommend The Art of Musique!

Due to my schedule, I can no longer take the lessons, but can still sit down and play what I've learned from Sharon. She also taught my granddaughter from a very young age. My husband is now in his 3rd year of taking piano lessons from Sharon. All of us began piano lessons at different ability levels, and she's adapted her teaching to each of us. She has children and adult students. She has a very professional office set up, conveniently located in the Plymouth/Canton area.

However, ever since the first time we stepped into the room there at the Grosse Pointe Music Academy, we have felt like we were being welcomed into a little musical family. I cannot compliment Mrs. Sarah enough. She is warm, engaging, and has a way to make even the shyest little kids feel like they can sing and dance with the best of them. Mrs. Sarah is a rockstar in my daughter's eyes, and often imitates her ukulele playing when we are sitting around at home. I will do whatever it takes to make sure that we can fit music together classes into our schedule over the next couple of years so that my daughter can continue to grow with the Music Together curriculum.

I have tried numerous times to contact them this week to see up a appt for a haircut and the phone has rang and rang with no one answering it and no voicemail, that would make too much sense I guess. I just now made another call and it rang and rang for FOUR MINUTES before disconnecting my call. I find it infuriating that I am working so hard so I can pay someone for a simple haircut. If this is any indication as to how this school ruins things i am better taking my business elsewhere and so should you.
