Loved checking this place out. Great food, kind service, a relaxing and homey atmosphere. A great place to come and catch up with a friend over a good meal or people watch. I had the traditional hummus plate and it was great. Light, but filling and fresh ingredients. Hit the spot for sure!

Falafel special with pomegranate seeds and beets. This was amazing. I could eat this everyday

This was probably one of my favorite places to eat in Amsterdam. The Mediterranean food in Amsterdam is really top notch and I wish I can bring this place back with me to the States. I would eat here everyday if I could. My fiance had the siniya which consisted of ground beef and lamb and he really enjoyed his meal. I had the falafel that was on the chef's specials and it was absolutely amazing. It had a combination of tomatoes, pomegranate seeds, tzatziki sauce and beets. It was sweet and savory. You must check out this place!

Hummus with chicken

The hummus was excellent, as expected, of course - it's in the name. The best surprise was the ample amounts of white and whole wheat warm, fluffy pita bread served alongside. I didn't ask for it, it was just part of the greatness of the dish. And to top it off, what I thought would be a basic tea with a bag of herbs was truly fresh lemon & ginger. Amazing!

Yum! We made reservations for dinner. The restaurant is intimate, everyone is super close to each other. I felt that the staff were extremely accommodating for us, we arrived early, granted it was raining outside. They allowed us to be seated 45 minutes early. This is uncommon when in the United States, at least until your whole party is present. All of our food was very good. No complaints there. We were allowed to separate our checks. Two toilets located in the back of the restaurant. All in all, I'm pleased with this meal.

This is a lovely little restaurant near the Lindengracht market. We stopped by on a Saturday after wondering through the nearby stalls. They have a variety of seating, and my friend and I sat on a little couch near the entrance - perfect since it good for people watching but out of the scorching sun. I started with a sparkling water and iced coffee. The servers were very attentive - in fact, nearly too attentive. It seemed we had 3 different servers checking in on us! Despite this, we didn't feel rushed and felt comfortable sitting for a while. The beef and lamb plate was delicious and served hot on the pan! The condiments on the side offered a variety of unique flavored, although the dish was great on its own. There is a washroom in the back as well. If you looking somewhere to sit on a Saturday afternoon after the market, this would be the place!

I'm still dreaming about the chicken hummus platter! 10 out of 10 - highly recommend this place!

Everything we ate was high quality, down to the olive oil drizzle on the hummus. The pita was standout - pillowy and fresh. The falafel was fried fresh and not oily. And the hummus itself was great. We also ordered the meatball and eggplant dish but honestly could have gotten full just from the hummus. I'd recommend sitting outside if the weather works out!

Based on the number of high reviews, I decided to come here for dinner. We made reservations, but we came here early since I was hungry. We ordered "A Bit of This and A Bit of That." I like the option of trying a variety of items. The eggplant was my favorite. The falafels were a bit dry. Overall, most of the items were just ok to me.

Amazing. Came with a friend and we got the "a little of this a little of that" as we wanted to try all we could. We were SO glad we did. Everything was amazing, and they just kept bringing out more dishes to try (probably ended up with 3-4x the amount of food in the image) and we ended up having a lot of yummy leftovers as well. The staff was so nice and it was a great experience with a great ambiance and vibe inside.

Delicious fresh eats. The falafel is light and fluffy. The lamb kebabs are well-seasoned. The tiny salads are flavorful. The gin and tonic with orange and spices was very refreshing. Definitely the word is out. Small intimate space fills up quickly.

This was the best Mediterranean food we have ever had!! Everything we ate was exquisite and the restaurant felt so homey. The server was kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and ended up returning 3 nights of our 7 day trip in Amsterdam!

Review coming from Southern California where we have great, healthy Mediterranean food. Hummus Bistro knocks it out of the park. First off the friendly service makes you feel welcome, then you settle in by getting beverages and listening to relaxed reggae music. My wife got the falafel, which I had to try and was crisp and amazing. I got the hummus chicken in which I loaded with the provided pickle tray. This place knows how to bring out fresh and well made food.

Inside of the restaurant. It is packed but vibrant.

We loved everything about this place. The bistro vibe was great. The food was fantastic. There were 6 of us so we tried lots of different things and were universally pleased.

Great food and service. Best falafel ever. We tried the eggplant, the texture is not for me, but others liked it.

The staff was charismatic and genuinely helpful with the menu, taking time to explain dishes and give recommendations without ever rushing me. I ordered the black charcoal ravioli, which was rich and unique, and also tried the beet ravioli. I loved their creative take on raviolis. They were colorful, fresh, and full of flavor. The presentation matched the taste, and both plates felt thoughtful rather than gimmicky. It's the kind of place where you can relax into the atmosphere and enjoy food that's both beautiful and satisfying. Perfect for a slow meal with friends or a solo stop when you want something a little different.

This delicious spot is off the beaten path of the more touristy spots in Amsterdam, located on a quiet side street. We absolutely loved our meal - with clear influences from french, asian flavors, and italian. We started with a delicious amuse bouche by the chef, followed by the "pate" and fresh bread. It was earthy and good; a solid start. Our main dishes were truly a treat! We split one of the gnocchi options - the tomato sauce was delectable; I truly could have licked the bowl - and the black mushroom ravioli - so much delicious umami flavor! We ended with the peanut butter brownie and, let me just say, I am UPSET that we decided to split one instead of ordering our own! The service was a delight - they were so kind, clearly wanting us to enjoy the experience!

Fast forward a few years and now I'm delighted to accompany them to vegan restaurants such as Meatless District in Amsterdam, NL. The food was exquisite as was the service. I'm now obsessed with watermelon sashimi. I prefer this vegan bitterballen to the traditional because I didn't like the texture of the meat inside. I feel the dutch really like pureed meat. The mushroom bitterballen was so delicious as was everything else. The braised artichoke was just ok. Nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it. It's just that everything else was so unique including the desserts. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant. I give my experience a 4 overall for the artichoke and I must mention the bathroom. This is more of a Dutch thing than anything else. Gender neutral bathrooms are cool. We Americans don't see that a lot. The problem is the individual stall was up a flight of stairs and so small that I couldn't even sit on the toilet and then there was nothing to pull myself up to get out the position I had gotten myself into. It was awkward. This stall needs a bar or something to help those of us who are not as able as we used to be. I'd go eat here again to try more of their dishes.
