There is a new owner at Humphrey's florist. The previous owner Tim, a total darling, retired. Tim had been making bouquets for my mother for 15 years. I just had to say: "send the usual" and he knew exactly what I wanted. I had my first experience with the new owner this week. When I said "send what you always send" they designed a striking, modern bouquet. I would have liked it, my mother wouldn't have. The new florist discussed an english garden bouquet (mother is from England) rather than the modern one. The new bouquet is perfect! Just what my mom loves. If you have ordered from Humphreys in the past and are used to saying: "send the usual," be more specific...at least until they get to know you. read more

I bought flowers to cheer my niece up knowing she was in the hospital dealing with painful surgeries. She loves the Fall season so I ordered an a floral arrangement that I thought would be beautiful . The delivered arrangement was pitiful. I am an avid purchaser of flowers for my loved ones but I will not be buying from this company again. So disappointed to say the least . read more

I ordered flowers to cheer up a dear friend who had undergone surgery. The arrangement was exactly as pictured, delivery was prompt, and my friend was thrilled to receive them. This sweet floral shop is in the heart of town, and does a wonderful job of catering to special orders: I had written the note in French, which they had no problem with. Very disappointing. We met once with the owner to discuss our wedding. First off, a little pricey and the owner seems to have his own vision on what to do and only takes little input on what you want. I didn't want to spend a lot on flowers and we are having a fall wedding so we liked the mums that are in season around that time and in our color. However since it was not a more pricey flower it was kind of brushed aside. We met with him twice. The first time we made an appointment just to discuss ideas and price estimate. It was a bit more then I thought it would be. When we got home we discussed what we needed and decided to have him only do flowers for the wedding party, parents and grandparents. Whereas before we had gotten a price estimate for wedding party, parents, grandparents, godparents, decorations for reception and ceremony, and decorating a arch we are going to be married under. The second time we didn't make an appointment and just stopped in to ask about downsizing what we were needing for the wedding. At that time we put down a $100 deposit to hold the date. All he did was run our card and gave us a receipt for the deposit. A few weeks later we decided we where no longer going to go with them for the wedding so I called to cancel so they were able to free the day up and that we could get a refund on our deposit, because at our first meeting he said that it would be returned with enough notice to canceling (3months). When I called they said they could not refund us our deposit. They claim that they already turned down a wedding and that it went towards a "non-refundable" consultation fee. This was news to me! when I called to set up a meeting for the first time there was no mention of a consultation fee and also no charge when I left and didn't book with him. Also I had not signed any contract binding us and saying that the deposit was nonrefundable. They are just about the money and not about customer service. If they would have refunded me I would have used them in the future for gifts and flowers. But after this experience I would not recommend anyone to there store. They are not upfront about a fee for a consult (which $100 to meet with a florist is absurd!) and how convenient none of this is brought up until you no longer want to do business with them. I live locally to this business (that is in a small town) and will make sure everyone knows about this experience. Word travels fast. read more
