They cannot keep reliable subcontractors or designers because they treat anyone who is not related to them as the enemy vs dealing the companies issues. Way to expensive and they now will no longer warranty the job as they sold us on. The floor is falling through, the shelves are falling off the walls. The shower floor is stained with yellow glue, the side panels are scratched up, the toilet came unbolted from the pipe/floor. We will be seeing them in court this coming year once the 90 days is past and we can for the entire $30k cost of the bathroom since every panel must be removed to replace the shower pan, let alone the floor repairs. They do not have American workers, all foreign illegals it seems.

I hired Jim Hicks Home Improvement after water damage left my home uninhabitable. Contract: $27,808.33, with a $4,171.25 retainer paid. Since then, I've experienced delays, miscommunication, and a lack of professionalism. Jim refused to finalize the scope of work, clarify vague "per bid" items, or provide material allowances before demanding more money. He submitted inflated estimates to my insurance company--up to $10,000 more than our contract--while offering me low-grade carpet under $1.50/sq ft. A subcontractor told me, "I know what I'm charging Jim, but I don't know what Jim is charging you... it's a business." He ignored calls, stuck to short emails, and dismissed my concerns as "emotional" or "overreacting." He also used derogatory language, calling his own subcontractor a "redneck." For months I contacted people about getting new flooring, even had guys come by and take…read moremeasurements but for whatever reason they were un-responsible with an estimate much less doing the work. And after bad experiences with the "big box" stores on major appliance and home related purchases, I wasn't giving them any more money. Of all things, my plumbing contractor recommending Dominion Floor Covering after I even complained to them about bad service, and I have to say I what a great recommendation. After my initial inquiry, Nick came by the next day, took the measurements and with 24 hours I had an estimate. After I finalized my material color selection I had the work scheduled. The day of the work the crew arrived one half hour EARLY (when does ANY contractor show up early?). The three man crew led by Steve with Ronnie and Keith worked with great diligence, and were done by 4pm. The overall finish of my new flooring is excellent, the amount of custom cutting for molding and transitions due to the layout of my home was first class, the place was cleaned up with no debris, the whole thing was just great. In all my years as a home owner, I've never seen anything like. I have additional flooring work to complete, and no doubt I'm having Dominion come back to do it. Highly recommend.
