Worst experience ever, to start the restaurant was not very clean, there are soy sauce spots all over the table and even on the wall. The food was just disgusting, everything we got was lukewarm almost like it been sitting under a heat lamp. I ordered the beef and broccoli dinner the rice was dry and I'm pretty sure the ham chunks in it were at least a few days old, there is no way what I got was real beef it had the texture and taste of some kind of fake substitute meat, the prawns were so dry you couldn't eat them. My husband ordered the teriyaki chicken but it should have been called teriyaki fried bread there was almost no chicken in it, his rice was as bad as mine. The soy sauce container was broken and getting everywhere which explained why there was soy sauce all over the table when we sat down. We ordered pot stickers for a appetizer and got them a couple minutes after we got our meals, they weren't normal potstickers they were the size of a dumpling and the bulk of the dough wasn't even cooked. We only ate like 10 bites and we still ended up paying $60. I wouldn't recommend going here ever. read more

I ordered the chicken chow mein,soft noodles and it literally was the worst chicken chow mein I've ever had in my life. It had a weird flavor, actually it had no flavor. There was only 2 to 3 pieces of chicken, two very small pieces of celery and one piece of onion the rest was sticky noodles that was jam packed into a little Chinese box. I couldn't put enough soy sauce on it to make it edible. How do you screw up Mongolian Beef?! Start with an excessive amount of oil, then sauté the crap out of the onions. Add a meat-like substance with a softer consistency than tofu. Pair it with fried rice that, inexplicably, is Half diced / cubed hot dog pieces. This is a basic dish. Every Chinese restaurant serves it. It should be real beef with lightly sautéed (still crunchy) white and green onions. Simple. After a 600 mile drive today, this was very disappointing. Tip: ask for a real menu. My husband and I went in for our weekly date night, my husband ordered Broccoli Beef and I order Lemon Chicken both came with white rice. When we received our food, the rice was undercooked and crunky and the beef in the broccoli beef was not meat and definitely not beef, it seemed more like maybe tofu? or tempeh? Hunan Village has my favorite chinese dish in all of northern Utah. The Hot Bean Cake (vegan ma por tofu) is delicious, and my meat-eating friends love all of the Szichuan style dishes like the pork with hot sauce. So incredibly good and well balanced. Did not care for "hot chicken salad," which was cold and the dressing included wasabi - a deal breaker for me. Was brought hot & sour soup as sub and it was very good. Ordered again the 10 crab & cream cheese wontons as an app, and again, very good. Ham friend rice did not have the same flavor or character as before. First off I have eaten ALOT of Asian food, including straight from China (Chinese friends houses) and this is one of the worse places I have been. We ordered lemon chicken and it was so hard I felt like my tooth would break and the lemon sauce,!?!? Well, let's just say it tasted like the can it came from very gross. The house fried rice is over priced when it's Costco rice they use first off, and it had 4 small shrimp (yeah that's it) very disappointing. Even my toddlers wouldn't eat it. The place was somewhat clean so that's what the one star was for because the food is a zero. We took home the leftover because we felt bad but honestly it went straight to the garbage. It was the only restaurant open nearby late on a Sunday evening. My wife and five kids were very hungry. We all loved the food and the kids were all satisfied. (with five kids, that in and of itself is a feet) The little ones loved the steak skewers. Outstanding food. I was in the area and very hungry, so I quickly ordered chicken skewers, eggrolls, and fried wontons. They were very friendly at the door and let me pay for my order so I could leave it soon as it was done. Great service! The chicken skewers were the highlight of the meal, even though the green pepper threw me off. But the chicken was great and the pineapple and cherry were nice touches. The eggrolls were huge and had a great dipping jelly. Sweet-and-sour. The one thing that surprised me was the wontons were just chips or something. The food is good atmosphere is good. Used to be my absolute favorite Chinese place. Somewhere they seem to have lost care for the food. Not sure what happened. My most recent visit for my wedding in September I called 2 weeks in advance letting them know we had a group of 30 coming in. Waitress who seemed oblivious to the fact a large group was coming. The private room wasn't prepped for a group so they sat us in random booths and tables down the middle... not great for chatting. my wife and I arrived 30 minutes after the main group,because we were taking pictures, and drinks were not even served yet. When I finally did get my drink I was very thirsty drank it all and the cup was never refilled... After about an hour they finally had taken everyone's order. Then slowly brought out the food. 2 1/2 hours in every finally had food but people with kids left because the wait was so long. At the end of the night my son Never received his food. The food tasted pretty good won't complain there more disappointed about the lack of service and attention for something I had been so excited for. read more

Mixed feelings on my first visit... I had General Chicken lunch. They asked if I wanted soup or salad and I chose salad. The salad served was a Chinese chicken salad and was absolutely amazing! It was quite different and refreshing... sweet, salty and spicy all at the same time... very full of flavor. Then came the General Chicken and ham fried rice with cheese wontons. The cheese wontons were average... the ham fried rice I thought was better than average, but the General Chicken was not good at all... odd texture, somewhat flavorless... I wasn't impressed. The restaurant layout is very odd... you come in the main door go down a hall, turn left down another hall to get to the seating area... very odd... The General Tso's chicken was horrible, tasteless and dry, nothing like what I have had at other Chinese restaurants . Nothing in the meal tasted fresh!!! Will never be going back to this place, after telling us it would be 15 mins it took 40 min to get nasty pot stickers and then it took another 20 min to get the meal witch was supposed to be teriyaki chicken but didn't taste like any teriyaki chicken I've ever had, the chicken was breaded and all I got was breading, there was no chicken in any of the bites I had, then the noodles left a nasty after taste in my mouth. I heard a lady up front who got a to-go order say she'd sat there for 45 minutes after they told her it would only be a 25-minute wait for her order. Food is subpar, to say the least. Barely edible, really. The teriyaki chicken and orange chicken somehow taste exactly the same, we couldn't tell which one was which. The hot and sour soup isn't really fit for human consumption. The egg rolls were edible, though they tasted mustardy, which seems odd in chinese cuisine. We are not picky eaters, but most of our food here went to waste. It is better than the Beijing Buffet in town, but I would recommend going for Mexican at El Toro Viejo a few blocks away instead. read more

I made the mistake of not Yelping this place beforehand - it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Was going to say " eaten" but I wasn't able to eat most of it. I managed about a third of my plate and my friends are even less of theirs. Then we all felt sick and bloated afterwards. I'm sad to say that this might be our last visit to hunan village the past couple of times we've been here the food has been subpar at best something (or everything) did not taste good. We kept giving them another chance because this has been our go to Chinese place basically our whole 23 years of living. And it was the only good Chinese place in Brigham. Something has gone horribly horribly wrong with this establishment. Tonight we got 2 sweet & sour chicken dinners the rice which usually has eggs in it did not and was dry. The chow mein was alright the chicken looked odd so I picked it out. Our sweet and sour chicken looked and tasted like they had popped it into the microwave. The sauce was dried onto the chicken and not sticky and there was nothing in the bottom for us to even try to soak it in sauce. My wontons were burnt and had no cream cheese in them compared to previous take outs. The salad which is usually served cold was so hot I couldn't even stomach it. The photo is after eating. I am disappointed we spent $28 to eat close to nothing. We wish you the best Hunan village but we won't be back. read more

This food is delicious! It has been a long time since I've eaten here, but I was really craving Chinese food tonight. I ordered carryout for myself and my boyfriend. This time I tried the double face noodles and he ordered the General's chicken. The pan fried noodles were delicious and were mixed with stir fried veggies, chicken, beef, and shrimp. The General chicken was very good too. It had a nice balance of sweet and a little spice. We got a couple of egg rolls, too. They were really light and crispy, but just a tad greasy. The portions are huge. Both of us have enough left over for another meal. I'm already perusing the menu for our next meal here. read more

The food was extremely bad! The soup was old, with the ingredients mixed like a mush instead of a broth with a few ingredients. I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. It still makes me sick to think of the smell. The chicken lo mein noodles had no chicken and the noodles were mushy with no flavor. The sweet and sour pork was overcooked and dried out; it tasted very old like it had been sitting in a pan for several hours or even reheated. I threw all but a few bites of my dinner away and still got sick. My husband ate a little more than I did and he got terribly sick! I asked for utensils (for takeout) and the lady handed them to me with wet gloved hands, which she had been using to wipe something with a soapy rag. I couldn't believe it! The area behind the register had stacks of old papers and books or who knows what!?! We will NEVER go to this restaurant again! Run away!!! read more

Hungry for oriental and new to town we settled for Hunan. We pulled up and there wasn't a car in parking lot at 6PM. Not the best sign of a good restaurant. Needless to say we were seated quickly. We ordered the General Tso dinner combo and, fried wontons. The hot and sour soup was tasty. The portions were large but the amount of meat was on the wimpy side which didn't turn out to be a bad thing. The General Tso had a light breading and very little flavor. The chowmain noodles were good after adding soy sauce and salt. The rice looked like it had chopped up hot dog in it. The egg roll was fair. We really were hoping for a good place for oriental. Had dinner here this evening and it was great! Good food, service, and very friendly staff. I will definitely eat here again!
