The best food in Logan, Utah!!
    Jurnee R.

$27.39 (food: pineapple veggie curry, plain naan. drink: mango lassi) Tandoori Oven monologue (again): Yelp cousins, I'm back, with friends (as you'll see from the amount of food that is represented in the pics) about a year later, as promised. No need for me to write much about this restaurant, well because I had the same experience as the last 2 years. Still excellent! What was new this time around is that the dinosaur is gone. Yeahhhh it was sad to see Sinclair the dinosaur no longer in the parking lot. But, it's for a good reason. The restaurant owner, who I spoke with on my visit, decided to close down the gas station. They have decided to make this corner lot a much needed parking lot for the patrons who come to deep dive into every dish on the menu, leaving with a tremendous dose of satisfaction. So, ya'll already know what I'm going to say. You need to go visit and I hope to be back in 2025. P.S. - My picture is still being highlighted from my experience last year. What an honor!

I love the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. I get this every time and never regret it. My chicken was tender and the sauce was so good. The garlic naan was cooked perfectly. I also tried the mango chicken. I was surprised how it had a great mango flavor but it did seem to be more tomato based than I had expected. Just something to be aware of if you order it.

We ordered takeout and drove up from Ogden to try this place. I don't think it was worth it. I tried the lamb saag, one of my favorite dishes and it was good, but not amazing. It had little meat and was just a little blander than what I'm used to. The naan was not very good... we tried two different kinds and they were just okay, rather thick but little flavor, even on the garlic naan. The samosas were good though! Nice and crispy and I enjoyed the filling. The chutney to go with it was pretty good too.

They don't do tips anymore, and I was both comforted that they pay their folks but also a smidge confused, just from lack of practice. The food is always delicious and the service was always on top of whatever we could need. And really, the food is always tasty.

I would like to give Tandoori Oven a higher review based on generally delicious, well-spiced curry sauces and large, fresh, fluffy naan bread. But for the cost we had more of a Kitchen Nightmares than DDD experience: They served us a small appetizer "platter" ($10 for 7 assorted mostly-smallish items) with a large black hair fried/stuck into the top of one of them. My wife pointed this out and the waitress said, "Sorry! I will have them bring a new plate for you." A few minutes later a kitchen staff member brought us THE SAME PLATE BACK AGAIN! (It was obvious because my son had taken one of the fried paneer off the platter before my wife noticed the hair, and the plate came back with the same paneer missing.) Kitchen Nightmares-level yuck! The pineapple lemonade drink ($3.60) was very watery tasting but the mango lemonade with which they replaced it was better. Sadly they also cut the basmati rice with a cheaper rice so the texture is a little gummier and flavor not its savory best. Gummy texture (and under-seasoned flavor) repeated in my Malai Kofta dumplings. Just like falafel, you can tell a lot about an Indian restaurant if they can make these potato-and-cheese kofta dumplings light and fluffy in the sauce instead of heavy and dense. I got the latter. Fortunately the Malai cashew cream sauce was spiced well and delicious. And my wife's Chicken Coconut Korma and son's Mango Chicken Curry with both tender chicken and chunky, well-spiced curries. I wish I could rave based merely on the sauces but sadly they were all served with cold metal plates on which to eat them. For $80 with tip for three diners, too many details and appetizer service were poorly minded--on top of a bad parking location. I've had far better Indian food elsewhere, Guy Fieri's DDD endorsement poster in the lobby notwithstanding. 2.5 Stars.

Tandoori has excellentIndian Food! ...but the atmosphere needs an upgrade. There was something charming about the old, hole-in-the-wall, dimly lit, Indian restaurant adjacent to the Sinclair Gas Station... it's been a few years since the remodel, and it feels like it's due for another upgrade. The decor and vibrance of other local Indian options makes the blandness, and squeaky, cramped dining booths of Tabdoori, feel subpar. You can feel the people behind you from the other booth as they lean back... comparable to sitting economy on a flight. That said, the service is excellent, and the Spice level is no joke!

I am not a big fan of Indian food -- well, I wasn't until I ate here. It was so very delicious. This place has an extensive menu with descriptions of each dish, so there's no guessing. I had the butter chicken with garlic naan. The naan was so perfect, soft and slightly chewy. The chicken dish was so good, I ate more than I should have, but still had enough to take home for another small meal. My guess is that people go here for the food, not the atmosphere. The seats on one side of my booth had cracks, and there was not much in the way of decoration. The restaurant is connected to the gas station with a door and the whole facility is family owned, so the son was working the restaurant portion while mom was running the gas station. The service was excellent. I would definitely return to try more dishes.

Service was very pleasant and helpful, plus a reasonably well-stocked small market attached. Nice to find a couple things my pantry needed without having to give the business to Jeff Bezos. Their Spicy Garlic chicken special had that Indo-Chinese sort-of-General-Tso's flavor flair. The pizza had a good house-made crust (same dough as the naan maybe?) with the cheese and ingredients, while not a knee deep level, at a tasty and satisfying level for our family-style visit. Biryani was delicious and satisfying top to bottom. And while the spicy scale here runs 0-10, we were very glad that we didn't ask higher than our 2-3 level for most of the dishes! The Chicken 65 especially was quite spicy even at the "3" level. We ended up using the biryani yogurt sauce to cool it down. 4.5 stars.

I'm not a huge fan of Indian flavors, and so I don't typically choose Indian food, but the invitation from our friends who really love it was the perfect opportunity to open our palette a bit more. And I have to say, I have a feeling that this was the perfect place to try Indian food, since most of the time, when someone doesn't like a certain food, it's usually because they've never had it prepared correctly or well. I wanted to be a tad bit adventurous with Indian cuisine without sacrificing my butthole and the Saag Shorba soup was the perfect place to venture. I had no idea what this soup was but man it was very very delicious. I am not even sure what the spice concoction was, but it was heavenly. Then my husband and I split an entree of butter chicken because I knew that would also be safe for us white people who don't need to sit through Jurassic park with a burnt tongue or upset tummy. And it was very delicious. I love foods that are super flavorful without being overpowered by the heat that spices can sometimes bring. The jasmine rice that came with it was lightly seasoned and sooo good when slathered with the saucy butter chicken. We also got a side of garlic naan which was obviously a must. And everything together just hit the spot in my tummy that I didnt even know Indian food could deliver for me. We also ordered a mango yogurt drink. I didnt know that it had yogurt, so my initial reaction to it was that it seemed too warm to be a mango smoothie for how thick it was. But once I realized that it was supposed to be not freezing, my brain made better sense of it. It was very delicious. The host and servers were all super kind, and helped steer us away from dishes that would have been TOO spicy adventurous for us (like the lamb vindaloo). The seating was very nice. Super clean, and served water in stemware. It gives a more upscale, intimate vibe that was really nice for being on a double date with best friends and not having a grip of kids with us like we normally do. I still don't know how much I will personally ever crave Indian food. But I reckon if there ever was a place to make me seek it out, Red Fort will be the culprit.

There was also a ton of incense burning everywhere (not advertised online), so I won't come back. The naan was good, but didn't remind me of normal naan. It was just a flat, oily bread, in my opinion. It was the best part of the meal. The Chana masala was mid, as was the rice. Neither were anything special, and the rice was not just plain rice like at a lot of other places. The lady talked me down from spice level 5 to 4, but I'm glad that she accidentally put it in as a 5 (judging by the receipt). I'm a habanero person, and I need to stop listening to people who talk me down. I still needed to add habanero flakes. If I ever go back, I'd get it a level 6 (above the normal scale). The hot sauce they gave me had no discernible spice whatsoever and just tasted like mango. I don't recommend asking for that unless you like mild/no-spice liquidy mango sauce. All in all, it's a mid restaurant with a lot of incense everywhere. It's not BAD food and the portions are great, but I've had far better. There's another Indian place basically across the street which may or may not have better food--I haven't been.
