I'm so completely underwhelmed. We went in happy to try a new-to-us Chinese food place and honestly, the people we dealt with were kinda rude and didn't really help us the way we should have been helped as first time customers. I ordered orange chicken w fried rice and then my daughter wanted orange chicken with their panda noodles. So she rang that in and then listed out that we had two orders of orange chicken and an order of panda noodles w chicken. I didn't want 3 orders of food so I had to correct her. Then a manager (who still looked really young) came out and started (condescendingly, mind you) going over the order with me. She asked me if I wanted regular fried rice or plain fried rice. I was confused because it sounds like the same thing so I repeated it back to her as a question, and she just said it back to me. RESTAURANTS TAKE NOTE: if there is a difference in something basic in your restaurant and your using verbiage that sounds very similar to each other (regular vs plain) make sure not to be rude to customers. Just explain the difference without being condescending. At that point it's your own business jargon that a customer fresh off the street isnt aware of. I had to ask for more clarification and finally got the answer. And that's when she finally told me that panda noodles can't be used as a side for the orange chicken. It had to be its own thing. So they straightened it out. When we got our food the panda noodles looked like dressed up ramen noodles packet from Walmart with added chicken (which I'm not knocking) but it wasn't even that good. The orange chicken was decent but I've had better. This place didn't win us over and we won't be back. The chicken was so over cooked you couldn't chew it. The rice was not what we ordered. Second dinner had no pork or veggies in in and the shrimp lo mein had veggies and pork in it . The rangoon was under cooked and 300 and was like balls not at all what they are to look like. Missing and egg roll and the ones we got were under cooked. Who ever is in the kitchen tonight needs to be retrained and showed how to prepare the food correctly! So disappointed will never drive all that way again! The food was great, ordered pickup and was ready fast! But one of the down sides of it was one of the meals had a scrap of metal in it.

Just your ordinary Chinese fast food place. The chicken lo mein was pretty good. Their pork fried rice isn't great and the general tso chicken was decent. It's definitely better than most Chinese places in Elizabeth City. I liked the Hot & Sour soup best. I would recommend it! read more

This place makes very boring Chinese food. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, which at most places is a mix of sweet and hot. Here it's mostly just sweet, no kick to it at all. The rice is a weird yellow kind, like you'd get at a Mexican place. The place seemed clean though, at least until I noticed how dirty the door to the bathroom was. One of the employees came out to the dining room to eat, and was speaking very loudly, on speakerphone to his wife the whole time. It was really annoying. I wouldn't come here again. Nothing beats waiting an hour for your order and not being told it was going to be that long. More frustrating is watching orders come out the were ordered after yours. For the price they are charging you would think the orders would be out in a timely manner. More than a sorry should be done for these types of delays. Before ordering you should probably ask how long the wait is since the information is not offered up. While writing this a couple just walked out because there was no one out front. Probably will not becoming back anytime soon, such a shame for a small town place. ****Follow Up**** Never did get the order. After a hour just got a refund went to Hardee's and was out in 10 minutes. Hope the refund gets back faster than my order. read more

This is an update to my original review (see below), an upgrade to 5 stars for continued expectations and improved opinion... The crab rangoons were better and as promised I tried something different, an extra spicy garlic chicken and broccoli and it even impressed my wife, we finished it when normally Chinese leftovers remain leftovers at our house... Keep it up Panda!!! Finally!! Some decent Chinese food in Camden... We've been here twice now so they have consistent expectations... The small restaurant is clean and bright, all of the condiments are in the middle of the restaurant on your way out with a convenient table to place your on whilst you grab so,e chop sticks or folks and the obligatory duck sauce, Chinese mustard, and soy sauce... The menu is really no different than any other Chinese to-go but it actually is cooked to order because it was still hot when I got home with our order 20min later... The veggie Lo Mein, veggie fried rice, General's chicken, sweet/sour chicken, with egg roll and crab Rangoon was our complete order... yes, feeding two young adults and my wife & I... The veggies were still crunchy and it tasted like it was cooked in very little oil, just enough for the wok to work the food... The General's chicken had a little too much sauce but at least the sauce was good so 50/50... fried rice was normal, been there ate that... sweet/sour chicken were good sized pieces but over coated, coating could be a little lighter, the saving grace was the sweet/sour sauce, didn't taste like ketchup so again, good... lost a star for the crab Rangoon and egg roll, wrapper cooked perfectly, unfortunately, just barely enough crab filling to make this even average and egg roll was over cooked... It's not horrible but it's definitely Americanized. The fried rice is bland but at the same time I couldn't stop eating it lol.

Got fried food placed straight on styrofoam plates. The foam had melted to our food. I like all types of food. Mall Food court "Chinese food" is far superior to this. Their food is excellent and the facility is very clean. They are new so I know they will get the quirks worked out but right now it takes 30min just to get a simple order so plan on ordering ahead. My BIG complaint is that I can't get a cup of water. EVERY BEVERAGE IS IN A BOTTLE!!!! So you pay $1.98 even for water. That's not ok in my book. Excellent for what it is; a quick order Chinese restaurant. Feel free to menu experiment, most of it is great and well prepared. It makes me yurn for the days when "real" Chinese restaurants were more common place instead of the greasy "to go" or horrible all of can eat joints that are common place now. read more

This place is OK at best. If you find something on the menu stay with it. It is super fast an convenient on those late nights and no time to eat. It ends there. Quality is poor. I said get one item you like one the menu, you like, because everything other than broccoli and chicken I have tried sucks. Prices are inline with other places like this. Just ok of a place. My husband and I were curious about this place since it is brand new so we decided to visit. The food was very good! We have tried other chinese places but the ones we have been to in Elizabeth City were just mediocre. I got the shrimp lo mein with rice and my husband got chicken lo mein with rice. Don't waste your time. Just go next store to Hardees. I had the Gen Tso chicken. The only flavor was sugar, and the center was just warm almost chilled. Same as the crab rangoon and egg roll. But the food was fast to come out, I'm sure that's why it was cold in the center and the place did seem clean. read more

I absolutely love Hungry Panda and go weekly. The workers already know my order and make sure my large egg drop soup is cooked fresh and nice and hot. I am usually one of their last orders of the evening and they always greet me with a warm welcome as if I was their first customer of the day. If you were ever curious as to what the chinese food taste like in the frozen section of Food Lion, order something off their menu. OR if you've been to a military galley on chinese day, this will bring you back to the good ole days. Not sure where the people who gave this place more than 2 stars have eaten before...but this place is perfect for the, "I just need to eat or I'll die" crowd, or the "if I eat Hardeez or Pizza ONE MORE TIME" crowd. Thanks for bringing something different to the area though. Just hope they get chinese inspired, and stop ordering their food from Costco. The staff was really nice though. read more
