They feed more than one type of puppy. We got our first puppy from hunter ridge kennels, the vet told us our puppy has worm (more than one type)! Also, our puppy always scared after pooping and try to eat poop(we don't want to imagine what happened to him). What's more, till we get our puppy, we didn't receive the puppy's parents' pics even asked for more than three times, always lots of reason. read more

We found an adorable chocolate brown mini dachshund on puppyfind.com that was being sold by Hunter Ridge Kennels. Of course we fell in love with this baby and then we purchased him. Well, he was sent a day before the owner said he was going to be arriving to us. We were totally caught off guard, and were very late to pick him up at the airport that is an hour away from us. The owner of Hunter Ridge only contacted us once after we paid for our puppy, and that was when she called us and told us he had arrived at our local airport. She never made a followup call to check to see how he was or to make sure he had arrived safely, which she should have, since he had arrived A DAY EARLY. In addition to what I have mentioned above, our dog is not a "traditional" dachshund color, he is a chocolate brown dachshund which is not a color that breeders usually breed to. This leads me to believe that he did not come from a qualified breeder. Upon arrival at our home, covering his tail and down his back was fairly severe mange. She told us that this was from the "bleach in the puppy nursery." Hah. Yeah right. He also is very antisocial, aggressive, and has separation anxiety, and he has been this way since we got him. He is scared of males especially, which makes me think he was abused in some way by a male. Our dog is now coming up on 3 years old this year, and he is still the size he was when he was about 8 months old. He doesn't gain any weight, either. I don't think he'll ever grow to full size. Of course we love our little guy, he's the sweetest little thing in the whole world, but the things I mentioned above greatly concern me. I have come to believe that Hunter Ridge Kennels is a puppy mill in operation. No other reviewer on here seems to believe so, but that is what I think. read more

Their standards are very high. I flew to Oklahoma to pick up our puppy. Kacy met me at the airport and had everything we needed to take her home and get her started. They handle everything in the first 8 weeks that any knowledgeable buyer would expect. They send photos and videos. I'm so upset with this breeder. For almost a year she promised us a smooth coat JR. With many attempts and many photos (some photos of the wrong dog) we have not yet received a puppy. Due to fact the puppies turn out to be rough or broken coats! Of course they look smooth when born. We paid a deposit of $ 300.00 and requested our deposit back in July 2019. She presented us with yet another picture of a puppy and never got back with us. I am totally dissatisfied! No puppy! No return of deposit! and no contract was signed saying she could keep our deposit. I would never recommend this breeder!!!!! read more

Purchased a Jack Russell Terrier from them about 1.5 years ago. 7 months into the dog's life, my jack developed a hereditary disease known as Leg Calf Perthes Disease. This is a serious condition that requires an expensive surgery to ensure the dog has a long healthy life. Of course, we love our dog, and will give him the care he needs. Surgery and rehab cost exceeded 5k! The real kicker is that the owner became very defensive when I contacted her about the issue. She had claimed that the issue has never appeared in her bloodlines previously (bullshit) and essentially made me feel like it was my fault. Terrible customer service, F rating. This breeder produces waaaaay too many dogs (4 different breeds) to provide proper attention and genetic testing required to run a good breeding kennel. Do your research - google puppy mills - get educated, and then come to your own conclusions about Hunter Ridge Kennels. Stay away. I'm writing this review in hopes to help other people who are on the fence about getting a puppy from hunter ridge. My boyfriend and I had looked around for a few months at min pin puppies...when we came across a puppy named Sawyer, we knew he was the one. We were worried about taking the next step because there wasn't an in depth review or walk through of the puppy purchasing through hunter ridge. Here it is; to help anyone who needs it. We asked kacey the owner many questions through Facebook and they were always answered quickly and efficiently. The second we put our down payment down, we were sent additional information by email right away...including what food he was on, what to bring at pick up time and shipping's info etc. They gave us extra time to finish paying,and gave us an option on which day our puppy could be shipped. The second we payed for our pup, his flight was booked and info sent to us. We asked for more pics, and she sent them right away. On the day of puppy pick up, we tracked our pups every move with his flight number, and had no problem picking him up at the airport. We got him in PERFECT condition, besides having to worm him which is kind of common with puppies. He was healthy, happy and in great shape at 10 weeks old. We even had questions about his cropped ears a few days after we got him, Kacey sent us a video on how to post his ears and answered right away. We've had him for about a month now and he's a great dog. We are so happy we went with hunter ridge kennels. We have recommended them to our family and friends and hope to have another pup from them join our family in the future.
