Had them come out to ck fo a leak in the sprinkler system, water was running down the side walk and down the curb They said no leak it was the clay soil , charge $ 85 .00 JEA ! He's sent us an email and told us that we were using 50 gallons of water a day from the sprinkler meter, , called them back tues 12/1 , they said that they were busy and could not get back to us again until Monday 12/7 ? Hunter Sprinkler Repair has repaired my entire neglected system that hasn't been used in over 10 years! The professionalism was phenomenal they are the only sprinkler repair company that would answer the phone and were helpful and would get back with me, and got me scheduled ASAP, they do charge an $85 service fee for the visit that will go towards service. Their pricing was reasonable and fair, this company also takes time to educate and teach you how to better your knowledge with sprinklers. These guys have no idea how to fix sprinklers. Poor work and unprofessional workers. After realizing that Duke hadn't diagnosed or fixed the sprinklers after 2 trips they sent some horrible sexist hillbilly out. Talk about someone you don't want in or around your home! Disrespectful of personal space despite my requests, during covid, and blatantly rude and angry towards a customer. Ultimately they charged me over $800 to "work" on a system we inherited that the next company said just needed to be replaced. That company could not believe I'd had a "professional" company out 3x to work on our sprinklers- they found multiple broken heads all over the yard and the system spraying the fences and not covering the yard. I sent 2 emails to see what we could work out since they *did* do some labor - just not the right labor to fix the system due to their misdiagnosis or lack of diagnosis. Told them we would have been open to replacing it in the first place - before spending a bunch of money on their "repairs". No one called or emailed to make it right. That was 2 months ago. I just bought a house and I had no clue how to program the RainBird sprinkler system. I also needed a pipe capped off and sprinkler heads adjusted. Saw their ad in one of those coupon magazines. Very friendly guy came out and showed me, in detail, how to operate the system, when to adjust it, capped off a broken pipe and adjusted all the sprinkler heads. $$$, Not cheap, I have a invisible electrical fence for my dog , They nick and cut the wire after I told them about it and they said , not responsible for underground lines,so I had to get a company to come out to repair it that was another expense, It's not right ,they should have the tools to fix it.Not Happy about that It is ok company , Would I use them again Not sure, There are plenty companies out there I would most likely use read more

When making the appointment, I was informed of the service call charge, the typical other costs to be expected, and given a timeframe for arrival. I received a reminder call the day before the appointment. John arrived within the designated timeframe. Together, we walked and evaluated all sprinkler heads. I went in the house. He replaced a valve and 5 heads and cleaned or adjusted most others. A reasonable price to tune-up a system that's 20+ years old. read more

I'm not one to give negative reviews; I just cease to patronize the vendor and let nature take it's course. But this was too egregious, plus... They came out in October to fix a non-working system: owner touched wires at three areas: the controller, outside on the wall (discovered all were Cut), and inside the first Control Valve, where he replaced a wire nut with one of his own, containing electrical grease. They weren't cheap, nearly $300. Three months later, upon turning the system back on again (too much rain), I discovered that the #1 zone ceased working. I deliberately did not touch/alter anything, not wishing to complicate their diagnosis. Out came their employee/sub. He discovered that *that same wire in #1 control valve that owner had last replaced/touched*, had become loose, separated, and popped out of the wire nut. I got their story that "Roots had pulled it apart"! OMG! Really??? Inside the plastic valve housing? What, 5" worth of Root-Pull-Torque??? Ohhh, those pesky roots! They sure DO know how to pull, don't they? Bet they double-teamed in pulling those exact wires apart (none others ! None others in 8 zones!!! Only the one he had monkeyed with).  Can't you just blame: the Squirrels, Tidal shifts, or Earth Rotation?  High Winds? Man-in-the-Moon-Marigolds??? I was charged $252.50 for this revisit, despite my protests and calls to their office. So all in all, charged over $550. No warranties honored. No scruples. I'm supposedly at fault? Use anybody else unless you wish to get ripped off with Blatant Lies and deceitful business practices. SHAMEFul. read more

Hunter Sprinkler Repair technician, Duke, went above and beyond to repair our irrigation system. Where I had other people give up or not even come out, Duke figured out the problem and spent all day repairing multiple issues. From locating valves to repairing broken wires, to re-plumbing valves and repairing breaks in multiple locations, he did it all. It was a tough issue and his perseverance was admirable. When he left, after being here all day, he was covered in mud and soaking wet, and still just as kind, polite, and professional as when he arrived. Hunter came out on 3/4/2020 to replace our irrigation control panel at the tune of $450 and also wanted to charge an additional $250 to replace 5 sprinkler heads. We contacted McCalls and they replaced the heads for $100. When the serviceman Ron was here he turned our well sysytem off and put it on city water and set all zones for 30 minutes. I do believe Ron is the owner. We just received our JEA bill and the water was $200 higher than the past 12 months. I called the office to have Ron come back out to see exactly what he did and he showed my husband(on 4/14/2020)that the water had been switched to city water and Ron turned it back to running through our well. He then asked for and $85 service trip fee which we refused to pay. Ron got irritated and said this is BS and that we are running our well illegally. Someone at Hunter callled JEA to call in a ticket for OUR home on 4/15/2020. The serviceman with JEA said if the well stopped running, which it has not, that we would have to use city water. The JEA serviceman told me that we were doing nothing wrong. Thanks Hunter for a $200 water bill, your unprofessionalism and disrespect displayed at MY HOME. We were offered no reimbersement for their mistake. After speaking with JEA we were informed that zones should be set for 15 to 20 minutes and they are going to see if we qualify for a reimbersement. I set an appointment to get an estimate for landscape lighting. At no point in the call was I told there was a fee for this. The tech showed up and after giving me an estimate told me there was an $85 fee. I could have saved us both a lot of time if they would have told me this over the phone. Seems like a terrible business practice not to be upfront about this fee.
