They gave me a reasonable price of around $500 including the blood test before surgery. Compared to other prices around the city this was very reasonable. I had to wait a month for the specialist to have an appointment. This is a little unusual in my experience but not a problem. When I brought him in it was done and he was in good shape when I picked him up. I never met the dental surgeon. A few weeks after his dental work I was taking care of a friends dog and my little guy gashed his head maybe on a nail under my deck. I called and was told I could bring him in but if it required stitches I would have to go to the emergency clinic. He was bleeding profusely so I rushed over there and Doctor B. Saw him and cleaned the wound cut the fur and gave him pain meds and an antibiotic shot. He had me make an appointment to see the surgeon 48 hours later. The only thing I find unusual is that this clinic does not seem to have a surgeon on staff. I don't know if that specialist works elsewhere or they just can't get someone in on a regular basis. My dog was well treated, kindly and I was reassured when they were cleaning his wound. As for the surgery they put in five stitches and he was ready to come home. I'll come back for regular care but know they keep prices down by moving patients along quickly.

The assistant showed us to an examination room with a cheap thin blanket on a metal table right by where you could hear ALL the dogs crying. They gave our dog a shot and made it sound like it would put her to sleep before they did THE shot! Well for almost 40 minutes we kept waiting and waiting only to find the shot was to calm the dog. The shot to put her to sleep should have been after the calming shot! My daughter and grandchild were crying thinking their dog was fighting it. After over an hour then they gave the euthanasia shot! Let us sit there thinking the dog was fighting it. Oh and it gets better! They wanted us to pay for blood work for a dog who is being euthanized and the dog checked all the boxes of a dog who is suffering! Total money grab because my daughter didn't pay for all the bells and whistles and buy everything (ashes, box and paw prints). It was such a COLD and absolutely terrible place to put your extended family member down. DON'T take your dog here because they only care about charging more by trying to take advantage of your pain! I had to put my dog down and went to Pet Friendly Animal Clinic and a completely different story! Private room and away from everyone, soft inviting room with couches that made you feel okay. Private exit door so people don't see you crying your eyes out AND the cost is almost the same! Shame on all of the staff at the Beddington clinic, they're a disgrace to the industry!

While I have not visited this vet clinic for exams, I have used them for prescription refills as my vet is across town and this location is closer to my work and home. Two weeks ago, my vet (also a VCA clinic) sent a prescription to this location for an antibiotic as my dog had a bone infection and we needed to begin medication ASAP. A vet tech from the Glamorgan Animal Clinic called me to explain that they only carry the antibiotic in tablet form and not the capsules that were prescribed by my veterinarian. I asked if the medication was the same as what was prescribed and the tech reassured me it was the same medication, just in a different form. I agreed to refill the prescription with the tablets that they had in stock as we were needing them urgently. Fast forward to me picking up the prescription, I was surprised at the cost, which was upwards of $230 for 2 weeks of medication. I assumed the antibiotic was just expensive and seeing as my dog needed to begin it right away, I paid and left. The staff were very friendly. Yesterday, I had a recheck by a vet at my regular VCA location and we learned that my dog would require 4 more weeks of medication. I assumed my bill would be more than $500 based off the cost of the medication at Glamorgan Animal Clinic. I was shocked to learn that 4 weeks of medication (in capsule form) would $89 at my clinic, not the $230 I paid at the Glamorgan location. While I recognize that I should have done research on the cost of the medication, I was deeply concerned that staff at the clinic were not upfront about the cost difference between the regular prescription and the medication they provided. I reached out to the clinic manager and she apologized for the confusion. She explained that I was provided with brand name medication, hence the greater cost. I am extremely disappointed that the staff at this location failed to explain that the tablets that they were providing were 5x the cost of the medication my vet had originally prescribed. While the manager was apologetic, I do not feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and encourage all future customers to do their research before paying the prices at this location.

My cats and I have traveled extensively, and thus, we have seen our fair share of veterinarians. I must say, Dr. Joe's manner and approach with animals is incomparable to any other vet we have ever visited and he has a wonderful sense of humour and is very personable. My cats were so relaxed that they were actually able to down a few treats during their visit (first time ever!) and they hardly made a peep during their checkups. They usually get riled up when their teeth are being checked and of course, when they have to get shots, but Dr. Joe was able to accomplish these tasks so gently that my cats didn't kick up a fuss at all. Dr. Joe took his time w/ us during the visit and he made sure that all of my questions were answered and that all concerns were addressed. To add, it was obvious to me that Dr. Joe's priority was to provide the best treatment plan for my cats, while also keeping things as economically sound as possible for me, the pet owner. I understand that her medical condition was very serious. My concern is not only about the outcome, but about the communication, consent process, documentation, and the way we were treated during the euthanasia decision. We asked about other options, including continuing treatment and transferring Raya to another emergency/specialty clinic. I did not feel that we were given a real voluntary choice. Police were called and were present in the room while we were crying, overwhelmed, and trying to understand our options. I felt pressured into signing the euthanasia consent form. Afterward, I requested Rhea's full medical records. The first package did not include all documents, and only after multiple follow-up emails did I receive additional monitoring records, handwritten order forms, and communication logs that were not included initially. I also requested clarification about audio recordings made during our conversations. Losing Rhea was already devastating. The way this situation was handled made it even more painful. I am now seeking review through the appropriate channels. In my opinion, pet owners deserve clear communication, transparency, and compassion during emergencies. I did not feel that we received that.
