I rarely post online reviews because I prefer not to speak negatively about any business, but I…read morefeel an urgent obligation to warn prospective patients about this facility and its staff. The front desk reception is exceptionally rude. If you carry any outstanding balance, patient care and mental health immediately cease to be a priority--the sole focus becomes collecting payment. Furthermore, descriptions claiming the facility is "clean" are inaccurate; located inside a mini-mall, the office gives the impression of a temporary pop-up operation rather than an established medical clinic. I received treatment from Micah Malenfant for years. He eventually expressed dissatisfaction with Seaside and departed to launch a private practice, suggesting I transition with him to ensure continuity of care. It was only after I moved to his private practice that Seaside suddenly claimed my final appointment was not covered by insurance, leaving me with a substantial balance. Ever since I prioritized continuing care with my long-term provider, they have treated me poorly regarding this balance. Years later, Mr. Malenfant began abruptly ignoring my communications right when my long-standing prescription renewals were due. After failing to submit my refills or respond to me for over a week, his eventual reply was vague and failed to disclose that his private practice had closed and he was forced to return to Seaside. He subsequently emailed asking if I was available on a specific date to figure out my treatment; I confirmed my availability immediately, but heard nothing back. Rather than professionally addressing the disruption to my care or providing a clear explanation, he sent extensive, highly unprofessional emails detailing his own personal issues and life crises. While I wish hardship on no one and hope he receives any care he may need, a provider cannot operate this way while managing patients. Shortly after apologizing and promising to work things out, his final message stated he would simply no longer respond to me. Both the facility and Micah Malenfant demonstrate severe unprofessionalism, prioritizing balance collection over patient safety and mental health. Navigating healthcare is difficult enough, and no one deserves to experience this level of neglect. If management takes accountability and resolves these issues appropriately, I will gladly remove this post, as I have no desire to criticize anyone unfairly. Until then, please stay away for your own mental health and safety.

Visited Maine SBC on Mondays for 5 weeks after a medical diagnosis. The center is located within a…read moregym in the far right corner. The first day felt awkward because I didn't know where to go and who I was waiting to see. They had a mask policy at the time (this was March 2023) and had masks available if you didn't have one. The space is nice and seems to suit the needs of the center. The Therapists also use the gym equipment with you. The time spent kept me on track with physical fitness for my medical needs. I recommend for anyone with MS as they specify in MS rehab.

Went to physical therapy to work on some issues caused by an acquired brain injury, particularly…read moredystonia, and balance issues where I was having falls. I met with Bethany Althaus, who listened intently, and designed a care plan that was helpful in not only preventing falls, but improved my quality of life. Office staff has mostly been responsive and kind to me, with a few exceptions. It's never been enough to turn me away from the office, but some room for improvement. I'd say their warmth and customer service is average for office staff.

I had to go to SMMC ER yesterday. I have the Noro virus. I was severely dehydrated, sick, weak,…read moreblood pressure sky high. My doctor recommended I go to the ER. I didnt want to go to SMMC but it was the closest hospital. Usually I would go to MMC or Northern Light Mercy. Let me tell you from start to finish I got quality care. From the front desk to the doctor it was seemless. Even security there was kind and empathetic. In the first hour that I was there I already had heen registered, triaged, labs ordered and had my EKG. Half hour after that I was in a comfortable room with a TV. Because I was so dehydrated they could not find a vein to do an IV. Three different people came to look but not one of them poked me. They sent in a team with an Ultra sound machine to find the vein. Even though the Dr suspected Noro Virus he did a ct abdominal scan because I was in so much pain. I was thankful we were able to rule out anything life threatening. I left there after 6:00. I got to my pharmacy before 7:00 and my medication was there waiting for me. I wanted to give this review because SMMC has a bad rap. MMC is the place everyone would recommend you go to, but the experience there is hellish. If you get shot in the head or run over by a bus yes MMC is the place to go. If you are not dying, but feel like you are SMMC is a great option. I am not saying they don't handle trauma situations I am sure they do, they are an ER and not an urgent care, but MMC is a trauma one hospital so unless you are a trauma one patient, you will recieve better care at SMMC.
