I called 2 weeks in advance to make an appointment for an estimate on some awnings that I wanted…read moreput up at my house. The person I spoke with, (i think Keith) told me he would be at my house on a specific day at 9 am. This was a Friday, and the reason I picked this day was because I was going to be off that day and it was the only day in the foreseeable future that I could be home for an estimate. I told Keith this and he assured me he would be there. Well at 11 am on that Friday, I finally call Boys to find out where this person is who is supposed to be here. Keith answers and I tell him that he is supposed to be at my house for an estimate. here is the gist of the conversation...no kidding! me: you were supposed to be at my house to do an estimate for awnings keith: oh yeah. i forgot. why didn't you call to remind me? me: what! why should I have to remind you? keith: yeah, I'm sorry...and that was the only day you had off, right? me: yeas. that is why you were supposed to come today. I only had this day off. keith: well...you want to reschedule for another day me: NO! how would I know you would even show up then? keith: yeah...your right Seriously! what the heck is going on with customer service anymore. Beware if you do decide to use Boy's awning....if they are this cavalier with appointments for giving an estimate...they will probably be the same way throughout the whole thing.

Edit: I spoke with the office manager and she was willing to work with me on the issue. She seemed…read moreeager to resolve the issues I had with them. She explained she wanted the owner to call me directly and I agreed. That's where the good started and ended. The owner calls me up and didn't want to address anything that happened. His words were "water under the bridge." Which told me he had no intention on resolving what his his unethical employees were doing. The crazy part is the only one who seemed to care about what had took place was his office manager. She told me she knew Dan had been doing this for years and she's tried to have him removed, but the owner seems to protect these sleazy people. I hope she finds somewhere else to work where they actually care about their customers as much as she seemed to. I stand by my original review. Stay far away from these people if you're a contractor or any other business needing some kind of sub work. They will go behind your back and try to steal a job from under you. If the service is this bad before even getting to the actual process of making order I can only imagine how well that would turn out for you. You've been warned. Pay attention o the other reviews from years past as those issues still seem to be an issue with this company. I'm a contractor and called these guys to come give a bid. First guy, Dan shows up and takes some measurements. He says he needs another guy to come out a bid removal and repairs of awnings. So I wait and the next thing I know my client is calling me to tell me the second guy is bringing her an estimate for my job. So I text this Dan guy and ask why the other guy is going directly to my client with what I'm hiring them to do. He reads my texts and doesn't respond for a few days. So I give him a call. I ask him why they're going to my client when I'm the one hiring them for my job. He cops an attitude and acts like I'm the one who did something wrong like them being undermining wasn't a big deal. Skip forward to the original estimate that got the ball rolling and I still don't have the estimate for several jobs I was promised. As a contractor if I did this to someone I would loose work and future jobs. These people are unethical and even get back to you in a timely manner. The Estimator, Dan is going to get this company sued. Stay away from these guys and go with a more reputable company. You'll pay a little more and not have to worry about getting screwed over. If it's this bad and I haven't even spent any money yet I can only imagine what it would be if and when they ever did any work. You get what you pay for

With the sun beating down on that side of the house before the awnings were installed it was unbearable and now the house is cooler and that side of the house is usable for a change.
