First time staying here and possibly our last. The site was listed as a drive through. It is not possible when another RV is parked in front of where your vehicle would drive. That made it a back in. Not a problem but now our hookups are on the wrong side, also not a problem. The problem was having two trailers assigned to one electric box when I signed up for a 50/30 amp because we needed 50 amp. We get there and the trailer next to us is assigned to the 50 amp side but needs the 30 amp so had to use a converter. They were not home. We wrote a note asking to swap amp sides with them. They were very accommodating kind neighbors so it worked out. I feel it is very cheap to expect two trailers to share the same box. The campsites were loose gravel over grass. They had lovely tall shade trees. A nice pool we didn't use and a great looking putt putt golf course. The long term area looked nice and well maintained. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. Uneven pads for camper, right next to interstate and loud, neighbors so close it is unreal. Do not believe the pictures online posted those are campsites for permanent seasonal campers in the back. I was told the cost was $650 a month then charged $718 on my card. Campers are placed tongue to the back of your neighbor in front of you camper. so if one wants to move out you have to pack up your camper and move yours to a temporary spot for a couple of days so they can get out then pack up your camper again and move it again. They broke the contract doing that with us so instead of signing a new contract on a new spot we went ahead and went to another campground. Owner (which you never see, never picks up phone or has an office you can go to) continually tries to charge my credit card a large sum of money because she is mad. Also you are not allowed to have any mail sent to you if renting monthly' and there was a lot of trash and illicit drug use going on in the campground. read more

ZERO STARS! This place has tiny uneven gravel spots. The pond is an over grown mess. The spots are so close together I could've reached out a window & touched our neighbors camper. Right next to the interstate so there's no relaxing outside. When we arrived the pool wasn't full & green. With a weekend holiday you think it would've been mowed? NOPE! Worst campground I've ever been to. read more

Honest rating based on current state of the park, but hopeful the new owners will spruce things up! This is a good stopover for a night while traveling through the area, but currently overpriced based on the state of the park. I understand the owners just took over, but would recommend they lower rates until fixing things up. Entrance is a long gravel road. Upon entering, you go down a large hill to get down to the river level where the sites are. Sorta scary but experienced drivers should be fine. Sites are too close together and not level. Very difficult for our big rig to navigate and get set up. Our slides could easily have hit the slides at the site next door had we not lined up carefully. No internet at all and we could only pick up a few subpar TV stations. They have a pool area that looks nice, but pool is currently green and needs to be treated. They also have mini golf that looked fun and just needs to be restored a bit - also not enough balls for multiple families to play at once. Lots of other equipment for kid friendly activities like sand volleyball, pool table, horseshoes, cornhole, large tires and playground to climb on. Unfortunately no bathroom near this area except for a porta potty, which I have personally never seen at an RV park and would not use. Proximity to the river is great - it's pretty and you can rent equipment to explore the river. Proximity to the interstate is not as great, but didn't bother us too much. There are currently a LOT of permanent residents, many of which are in trailers with permanent attachments like porches and garages. Makes the place look run down. Also these properties are below the record water level mark, which is a disaster waiting to happen. In summary - fine for a last minute stopover, but otherwise too expensive for what you're getting. We met the new owners and they seem great and we are hopeful they'll help this place reach its potential! read more

Disregard ALL previous negative reviews! Under new ownership beginning with the 2022 season. Wonderful family who is eager to please and update, organize and improve this park. Highly recommend it! While it is close to I-80, it's perfect if you're traveling that route in your RV and need a place for the night. The entrance road is gravel so proceed slowly when arriving and departing. Bonus: RV accessible gas station across from park entrance! Beautiful setting with perfect access to the river in the 40 fenced acre park, a sparkling pool, playground, volleyball court, mini golf, lots of trees, some sloped sites they're working on leveling. They have started a river rafting business where they'll bus you back after your trip. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. read more

If it was possible to leave no stars, I would. This has to be the absolute worst campground I have been to. Between the flies, ticks, and weeds.... The property is not taken care of, if you have any issues, good luck getting hold of anyone that works in this horrible place. They say they are the new owners and they are trying to improve the place, I was there two years ago, and it's the same horrible place as it was then. We left a day early because we could t even sit outside. Please just drive on past this place. Do not waste your money. You are better off sleeping in a rest stop for the night and keep going. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! I would've given ZERO stars if that was an option! My family has camped here for many years, and it was recently sold to new owners. These owners, Melissa Zweerink & her husband, have been incompetent to running a business. They feel it is okay to uproot families that have permanent camping spots with trailers, just because they don't like the way it looks. But they want to keep one of them so their son can live in it. Fair, right? If they don't like the type of music you play, you're getting kicked out. If they don't like the way you look in their direction & don't smile or wave, you get kicked out because you "intimidate them." Let's not forget you are being kicked out without getting your money back whatsoever. The mini-golf course is run-down, the swimming pool is green because they don't properly take care of it (nice health hazard for all the young kids who just want to swim & have fun).. so many things that as a BUSINESS OWNER, you should be more concerned about other than what kind of music is being played, whether someone smiles at you or not, and whether or not you "like the way something looks." This is supposed to be a place for families to come and relax and have a good time. These new owners have ruined that for everyone. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! We have camped here for over 17 years and since the new owners bought it it has went way down hill!! Zweerink family (I would check out their criminal history) bought the campground in 2022 and it is now "Cedar River Campground" NOT Hunt's Cedar River Campground since 2022. We have camped here for years and would NEVER return..... NOT FAMILY friendly AT ALL. No internet. No Pit Bulls allowed. You can not access the Cedar River from their property to float or Kayak as it is only for their sons float business now. Rules are not enforced by them with loud music on the river until 2:30 am. Waking my grands up 3 different times on the weekend. At the Sock Hop a camper was downing shots of Fire Ball and then loaded a bunch of kids on his golf cart for it to only end up in the Cedar River with kids being taken out by ambulance. Over 40 plus seasonal family's have been kicked out in the past 12 months with some not getting any deposit back or any seasonal camping money back. The reasons for kicking people out range from looking at the owners wrongly to being accused of things the owners thought up! These new owners are moody and very much hot heads and not professional at all!! They change the rules daily or even hourly depending on the situation or what their own moods are. They have run this campground in the ground the past 12 months. It really looks like a junk yard when you first come in now. It is no longer mowed down by the river like it had been and so you have lots of snakes and mice that never use to be in the campground. They have two HUGE burn piles on the river which takes away from the beauty of the Cedar River. They never are in the office AT ALL. You either have to text them or call to get any answers to your questions. read more

One of the worst RV parks we've been to on our cross-country trip. Avoid at all costs. WiFi is non-existent. And, the dilapidated RV next to us wound up being the 'crash pad' for a bunch of 20 somethings. They'd go to work in their branded vehicles in the morning, and come back at 5 to party it up in something that looked like a leftover from Breaking Bad. Management didn't seem to care. read more

Our family of 5 stopped here on our journey from the Chicago area to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Well the price was very fair, the old adage of you get what you pay for certainly applies. None of the sites are paved not even Stone. Mostly all grassy. It seems as though it is a popular place for seasonal campers and people who stay for longer term. It is less than 50 yards from Interstate 80, so be prepared to listen to the Drone of the semis all night long. On a positive note, the pool seem very nice. There's also a mini golf area that seemed pretty nice, but we couldn't get anybody to get us the clubs to play. All in all for the price it was worth the stop. read more

Made reservations 2 months before, called and gave me details of location of camping grounds. Get there and they gave one spot to a family member and friends (6 adults and lots of kids and 4 cars). They parked in our other camping spot too. So we took another spot that no one had. The owner and workers were rude to my family members that we camped / parked there. Never had any special that they advertise in the flyer, WiFi number is given to you per unit only for per 2 days (everyday it gets turns off at 12am). Paid 4 days and stayed 3 days, due to all the looks we got and how they were just rude, We will never go back and now when we pass by I can see why it is never busy. Maybe because no one will return after they deal with this mess. One thing is we weren't the only one that had a reservation mess up, on full everything service spot. That was given away and then was given another site that had a dirt pile in front side of the camper. read more

We made reservations for three campsites during the fourth of july only to show up and find out they gave two of them away to someone else that wasn't even there. The lady behind the counter at the office which I think was the owner was very rude. We called to ask the password for the wifi and she screamed at my girlfriend.Later that night she approched me while watching karaoke and t. She continued to be very rude to my family. She should learn how to treat her guests, they made me feel horrible. I will never go back. Ruined vacation. Don't go here there's one down the street. read more
