On vacation from CA and my alternator on my 2008 FJ Cruiser went out at the dunes at Sand Hollow. Just made it to pavement as it totally went dead. I was pointed over to Hurricane Auto Repair by another shop who was too busy to look at my truck. Honestly, i was really apprehensive about getting a decent repair done in a small town and not getting robbed. I was pretty certain that is what would happen. Towing to a major city like Las Vegas would have just broke the bank. I ended up meeting up with Mark first thing in the morning and had my truck towed to the shop. Mark and crew knocked out my truck in a few hours with a working rebuilt alternator. Only replaced what was actually needed. Charged what I felt was a fair price considering we really could have been charged without mercy. Mark was a genuine life saver! Got us back on the road, home safely, and still in good working order. I am happy to say I have a trustworthy shop to go to when I am playing in Utah back country. Would definitely recommend this shop. These guys are absolutely amazing. I came from Las Vegas to camp at Sand Hollow and my car started acting funny as we were leaving to head back home. The check engine light came on and I didn't want to risk it. Took my car in and a couple hours later Richard called to let me know what was wrong. Ended up being an issue with the throttle body (not the transmission like I was thinking) meaning I was most likely safe to make it back home. I can not say enough good things about this repair shop. I was on a cross country road trip and I was fortunate enough to break down in Hurricane. The men at Hurricane Auto let me stay in their lobby for hours trying to get my insurance figured out and Billy even drove my dog and me 30+ minutes to the airport at the end of the day - no questions asked. Terrific service at no cost! We heard a strange noise coming from our front wheel. Hurricane Auto Repair was able to take a look right away. They were able to identify that a rock had gotten lodged within our breaking system. They removed it and made sure all was clean and sent us on our way with no cost to us. During a road trip to Zion National Park, we noticed a weird rattling noise coming from underneath our relatively new Toyota van. No warning lights came on, but given we had more miles to log and parks to see, we decided to have it checked out. The hotel front desk staff in Springdale recommended Hurricane Auto Repair (in Hurricane, of course). We called and the most chipper, upbeat man named Richard answered the phone. He squeezed us in and saw us right away upon arrival. Richard took the car for a spin, returned to the shop and put it up on the rack. We had clearly run over something that damaged a panel on the undercarriage. He determined it wasn't a mission critical part and we could manage without it until we got home. He charged us a nominal and very fair price for his time and work. Born and raised in Hurricane, Richard is the owner. His extraordinary kindness and courteous service were exceptional. In today's modern, fast-paced, everyone-out-for-themselves world, people like Richard are few and far between. We are very grateful to him and to know people like him are still out there. I hope you never get stranded in Hurricane, UT. But if you do, come here. Seriously. My tire pressure sensor went off and my car was not handling well and I panicked because I was still 45 minutes from my accommodations for the night. I called Hurricane Auto Repair and he said he was full-up for the day, but if I dropped it off, he might be able squeeze me in. He did more than that. Within 90 minutes, he'd looked at the tire, replaced the valve, and only charged me $15. I tried to tip him, but he refused, smiled, and wished me safe travels on my adventures. read more

There are no words to express my appreciation for this auto shop, especially for Mr. Richard and his son Mark. While on a cross country road trip moving to CA from TX, our car literally stopped in the street. We were fortunate that it was literally right in front of this amazing shop, owned by even more amazing people. Within minutes, they came to our rescue and pulled us from the street to a safe space, offered our kids snacks etc. Then, within an hour, Richard discovered that our flex plate had broken. With 4th of July the next day, he got the part ordered ASAP and had us out of town true to his word 2 days later, coming in on the holiday to break the car down and in early the next day to put it all back together as soon as he had the part. He loaded us up and got us to a hotel in the meantime, gave us a run down of 4th of July festivities, and where to get a rental car too for visiting spots in town. This is an honest, caring, family owned business and we are blessed that we broke down where we did, who knows how long it would have taken if we hadn't been so lucky. These guys made my day. I showed up here after pop-starting my car. I thought the starter was out, and I told them so. They could have taken me for a ride; I'm not a local. Instead, they fixed my clutch switch (which was keeping the car from starting), charged me forty bucks, and sent me on my way in less than two hours. I took my car in to have the tires rotated and radiator replaced. I got my car back. As I drove away, three of my tires fell off of my car and rolled down the road. They hadn't screwed them back on. When I asked if this happens often, they said "don't worry, the mechanic probably just got distracted and forgot to put your tires back on." One week later, my engine started to smoke. Both of my fans were disconnected. I'm certain that this company didn't plug them back in when they were replacing my radiator. Yes, they were friendly, but fix your car anywhere else. read more

I took my old honda civic to Hurricane auto for some much needed repair. YES i had the car towed in. NO i had never had my car serviced. NO service in 11 years. Howard told me that all the belts needed to be changed and asked me when my last service was. Yes i hung my head and said SERVICE what do you mean?? Long story short Howard and his team at Hurricane Automotive put my little honda back together . All i can tell you is that if you have any automotive needs go to Hurricane. When driving through town, my husband's check engine light came on. I called Hurricane Auto and Billy said the mechanics were very busy today, but he could hook up the computer to the truck in order to determine the issue.
