Anyway, this park has been around forever and whether your memories are of the lush, green grassy areas or the adjacent recreational equipment, you probably have a story of your own. Hopefully there are more happy memories than sad ones like mine. Because it's centrally located and a large size, there are lots of markets or community events that are held here. There is a parking lot nearby as well as ample street parking. It's a great space to bring the St. George and surrounding community together.

Closed the last 2 weeks of December and all of January for winter break. This park is huge, plenty of space for big or small families to congregate too. Area to play pickle ball, run, shade to relax, walk with your fur baby on a leash, walk along the pathway with your signing other (you get the idea), safe enough to walk by yourself too and plenty of space to set up family outdoor games. Bathrooms, drinking fountains, and plenty of parking. Parking, little side rant. If you are parking on a Saturday when the area is busy, then it sucks finding a spot. The vehicles start parking at entrances/exits, then it turns into a one-way battle of who is turning around. In my opinion, parking should not be allowed in those narrow entrances/exits. Otherwise, it is FUN, FUN, FUN... and next door to rodeo grounds, too.

It's runs behind houses and through the backside of a large wash and past Sienna Hills Park. It's nice because you can see all sorts of wildlife. Being paved or concrete in some areas you can always make the trek without worry of the elements. We see Cottontail Rabbits, Desert Fox, Quail, Lizards and many bird species. It's really wide (10-15') so people can pass each other walking or riding bikes. This trail also merged into other trails throughout this area. You can even go under the freeway and merge into the Red Cliffs Reserve Trail system. It's great for small families so they don't have to be exposed to traffic. Dogs are allowed, but please pickup after them and keep them on a leash.

The Pa'rus (Paiute for bubbling water ) Trail follows the Virgin River and so it's pretty flat. The trail is paved and so if you have wheels (as in bike, wheel chair, walker, etc) or have a dog, this is the trail for you! The view of the river is beautiful, and gorgeous views of the Watchman. There is some shade from the vegetation lining the riverbanks, and I feel like that the temperature is cooler due to the water nearby, although this might be placebo. I didn't see many people on this trail, probably because it's underrated. Occasionally, there are information panels alongside the trail, which discuss ecology, geology, and human history. Great for learning!

Morning of day2 of a road trip with my son from AZ to WA. We stopped in Hurricane, UT overnight so…read morewe could visit Zion National Park the next morning. It was a beautiful overcast day in the park where we got a few short showers. We parked in the visitor lot just early enough to find a few open parking spots (when we returned the lot was full and cars were everywhere trying to usher people out so they could take their spot). We took the shuttle to the stop at the end and did a casual hike along the river and the canyon walls. It was an amazing spot and we wished we had time for the 7-hour experience but was had to get to Boise before the end of the day. After about 1 hour we arrived back at the first stop and did another 1 hour hike around one of the main intermediate trails. The beauty of Zion is everywhere- the rock formations, the rivers, the waterfalls, the vegetation, the animals and more. We spent an hour more than we planned just to soak as much in as we could! I'm definitely coming back here in the future to spend a full day or more with the family. We only saw the tip of the iceberg and it was amazing!

My friends and I did a weekend trip here, and got to do two hikes and stargaze. The Narrows: I've watched videos and did some research before the trip. Highly recommend getting the $35 hiking set with shoes, stick, and socks from Zion Outfitters. To get to the narrows, you'll take the shuttle to the last stop, and hike the Riverside Walk trail to the end. The Narrows goes pretty far, and there are no restrooms once you get off the shuttles. The hike is very rocky, and you're essentially in the water most of the time. The water is absolutely gorgeous, and I'd recommend starting as early as 8am! Water is very cold, and cools down throughout the day. There's no real "end" so you kind of keep going until you're ready to turn out. Our friends and I, medium-hikers, spent about 6 hours and walked 8 miles round trip. The hike is mostly shaded, and only very few parts of the water went up to about chest level. For reference, I'm 5 feet. I'd recommend spending a full day for this hike to really enjoy it and a relaxing pace. We also did the Watchman trail on a beautiful morning, and it was so cool getting to go from bottom to top of the mountains. The hike was approximately 3 miles and took us 3 hours with the inclines. We also got to see a sheep along the way! At night, we stargazed right by shuttle stop 2, aka the museum. Because it is nearly pitch black out there, you could see so many stars and constellations. I don't personally know any other than the big and small dippers, but it was really cool to check it out!

The park is super cute and quiet but the dog section feels a little forgotten. It's quiet. I feel like if the city was to put a little more effort into its upkeep and take better care of the grass in the parks, maybe more people would come and use it. It's very nicely oriented with big trees for shade and nice benches. We need more good doggie parks in town. We just need to have a little more love and effort shown to the two we do have so people feel like they can come and it's a nice space to use.

We took an ATV ride out into the dunes and then got to try sandboarding, which was such a fun experience! We stayed to watch the sunset and got some absolutely beautiful pictures as the colors changed over the dunes. Then, to top off the night, we made s'mores under the stars. From the ATV ride and sandboarding to the sunset and s'mores, this was such a memorable experience and definitely something I would recommend!

Renting a sandboard or sled from the visitor center is a must and makes trekking up the steep slopes well worth the quad burn. The park is very popular with OHVs, so expect engine noise in certain areas, though there are dedicated zones reserved solely for hikers. Go early in the morning or near sunset to avoid scorching midday sand temperatures and to catch the dunes at their most dramatic colors. This review is for Scout Cave Trail which was a ~3.5 miles round trip that took ~2 hours to…read morecomplete. This was an unique and casual hike near St George, Utah. The first half of the trail was mostly flat with sand and lava rocks. The second half was a steady incline starting from the stairs. The end requires a little bit of rock scrambling to reach the cave. The views from inside and around the cave were spectacular. Utah residents ($15 entry fee) and non-residents ($20 entry fee). Decent sized parking lot to the left shortly after entering the state park. Trailhead and restrooms are located across the street from the parking lot. The views are amazing and there are plenty of parking areas to pull off to adventure hike or bike. The campground is about $35 per night depending on your camping needs (car/tent camping-fulk RV hookups) This facility has bathrooms and shower rooms as well as covered pick up tables for some of the full hookup sites. Weekends get busy so highly recommend booking online early.
