Every blog and site that we found made it sound like a dream.. They they couldn't have been more true! This is such a beautiful hiking/camping spot! We went on a raining day in early December and it was still AMAZING. We only hiked around for an hour or so but it was so beautiful and there is so much to see. This trail cost $3 a car. It's also pet friendly! I have been told that people swim in the beautiful river in the summer. I'm in awe of the beauty of Bankhead National Forest. I can't wait to explore more of it!

The kids enjoyed themselves and didn't want to leave. We came on a Monday so the parking wasn't bad and the Park was not crowded at all. Only downfall it was a super hot but we enjoyed ourselves. They have a concession stand that sells food or you can bring your own picnic set up. They have Avalon that you can rent or you can bring your own tent and utilize the picnic tables. The bathrooms are fairly clean, but of course there was no air circulating. I do wish they had some type of fountain where you could get filtered water from for free. We decided to visit on a Monday with the hopes of a small crowd. Well it was not packed but definitely not a small crowd. You can pay $20 for parking inside or free parking outside. We decided to go with free parking and it was just fine! The ticket booth was a little crowded when we arrived right after opening. The line did move fast. The price was as expected for a water park at $35 for adults and older kids and $28 for under 2 and elderly. The park is open from 10am until 6pm and we spent most of the day here. The park has several picnic tables available. We decided to bring a tent to cover it. Best idea we could have thought of! They offer some paid cover sitting areas but they were booked. Our set up was perfect... just should have bought more snacks/beverages. The park has a wonderful kids area! It has a setup with the dump bucket and kids play area. The large pool area is my favorite part. The water was the perfect temp and felt clean. I stayed here most of the day. They have a few water slides near the top of the park. It had good selections for older kids. My kids loved this part! We did visit the concessions and the food was good! We spent about $13 on each meal. Next time I will bring food to save. They have a decent restroom area that was clean and comfortable. So will all of that being said... we LOVED this experience! 10 out of 10! Well done Spring Valley!

We went in the morning around 10am and the park was not too busy maybe around 5 kids. It wouldn't matter though the park is pretty big and spaced out with fencing. So it is pretty easy to keep up with your child and not feel over crowded.. Plus as an adorable little bonus they do have a swing that is a wheelchair swing for children who are handicapped Just on the off-chance you go on the offseason it can be a little noisy during clean up but I always see that as a good sign because they're keeping the park clean and not many beautiful places are kept as nice as this one was being kept.. The trail has photo opportunities for kids and workout equipment along the way! Also tons of rest stops picnic tables and just beautiful views.. it also looks like there is a stage that could potentially be for music and you can rent gazebos with picnic tables under it.

After going to a movie my husband and I picked up a pizza and set out to find Sportsman Lake. Heading north on 31 we found the sign and turned left. After passing the fairgrounds we headed into the park area. We found an empty picnic table and devoured our pizza. The small lake is beautiful with an elegant white pier. There were a lot of people but the park is spacious so we were still able to enjoy a peaceful meal by the water. There were several pavillions which are perfect for family gatherings, a playground for the children, and even a little train but I'm not sure of the operating hours. Several families were feeding the ducks and geese and couples were taking a stroll on the walking path. I definitely plan to come back the next time we are looking for a peaceful place to relax.

Average course: first time as I was visiting the area and was invited by friends…read more Unsure of the course I opted to ride, but it's definitely walkable in that there aren't hills to navigate. Even w riding I got about 8k steps in. (But I also purposefully will take my "Sunday bag" and walk to my hike and let my seated partner drive to theirs) I'm a newbie golfer (2yrs) but have intentionally tried out various courses and am learning quite a bit about them and how "I" personally rate them: so this is my own personal newbie experience Much like my home course in Aberdeen Maryland: It's flat. Pretty wide open. If you hit halfway decent you shouldn't lose balls to "off the fairway"...unless you really are way way way off the fairway Few hazards...but it's best to go with folk who know where said hazards are..there's one man-made ravine that crossed the fairway on a par 5 that isn't noticeable from the tee box. From the red tees, water was only a hazard a couple of times right off the box The greens were in great shape, and the fairways fine (imo) It runs along the Tn River, so pretty quiet and peaceful and not amongst houses. There's a walking path between "it" and the river so bikers and walkers are seen, but not a disturbance. Everyone there were really nice and…read moreaccommodating, especially when I had my tee time wrong and was running a bit late - thinking I was getting there early and could enjoy a nice warmup and some putts. It was a BEAUTIFUL Autumn day which made the course even more enjoyable! Two of our foursome had never been there and we both commented how much we liked it and look forward to returning. The greens and fairways were in great shape for the most part (if they had sand on the golf carts, I think the fairways would be in better shape). It's a friendly course, that is pretty wide open, has strategically placed sand traps (really deep ones by the way) and some tricky water features. The greens themselves have some really cool twists and turns, too, making the putting piece interesting and fun. I did not have time to check out the pro shop too thoroughly or the "grill." I did see a couple of guys enjoying a beer on the back, covered deck. Looking forward to many more fun rounds at PMGC!

The owner, Logan, was there to make sure everything was going smoothly and to welcome you in. Cubbies and shoe rentals are to the left, and the workout spaces are to the right. The community members were so nice and welcoming, and the spin class itself was just what I needed. The equipment they have is quality, as are the instructors. If you're unsure, right now, the first class is free for you to come try for yourself.
