My experience was definitely unforgettable... but not in a good way. :( my fiance and i were really…read moreexcited about potentially booking one of their dj's, pj, for our upcoming wedding. i gave them a call and whereas i'd had no problems with any vendors coming into manhattan to meet with us, they told us that they had a "no driving into manhattan without a contract" policy. i thought that was understandable, so made arrangements with my fiance to take the day off work on a tuesday to meet with the dj at our venue in clifton, nj. before the meeting, not knowing the etiquette, we asked the dj if we were expected to provide a meal. his reply was very curt and told us that "in 12+ years of dj-ing he'd never come across this question." yikes. we definitely didn't mean to offend and we apologized and assured him we'd be happy to pay for his meal. however, we scheduled another meeting with another dj just to have a back up. this dj was also in central jersey, came in to the city to meet with us, and gave us a great rate! my fiance and i were impressed but we had already gotten the time off work and the wedding wire reviews were so great that we decided we still wanted to meet with unforgettable djs. the meeting went very well! we thought pj had a lot of awesome, youthful energy. however, we wanted some time to think about it. my fiance and i debated and while the packaging price was better with the other dj, we thought that pj seemed like he'd bring more energy to the night. we e-mailed them explaining where we were in the decision-making process and asked if the price was negotiable. a few minutes later we received an e-mail that was essentially an e-mail RANT, accusing us of giving them "the bait and switch," listing all the trouble they'd gone through to meet with us. they also stated, "To offer my services for one dollar less is to de-value my services and I would never be able to do that." they also accused us of trying to steal their ideas ("I offered you input that you now will be able to use whether it's with me or any other DJ that you choose.") which seemed both paranoid and arrogant. i later called the owner of the company who apologized to me (hence the 2 star instead of 1). however, as a bride-to-be who is already stressed enough planning, having to tiptoe around one of my vendors is SO NOT WORTH IT. yes, maybe other people who used them loved them, but if you decide (or even LOOK like you're going to decide) to not go with them, watch out! an intimidating exchange at best, a demeaning one at worst. bring your business elsewhere. note: i was really surprised that wedding wire had ONLY glowing reviews about this place and looked up how the reviews worked. it seems that if there is a bad review, vendors can get that review pulled from the site. that's MESSED UP. secondly, i feel like a good chunk of the wedding wire reviews are fake because this place ALREADY has 1 filtered review posted. YAY for yelp for posting REAL reviews by REAL people and monitoring it!

All around, everyone at Unforgettable DJs was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I went off book in a lot of ways, ignoring a lot of typical wedding tropes to try and make the event something to really represent us, and Chris was right there with us the entire time. He was great about setting up meetings to talk through our plans, and helped a great deal in taking the random collection of ideas we compiled, and fine tuning them into exactly what we were looking for. Chris is really knowledgable about the dynamics of a wedding how crowds respond, what they expect, what kinds of music works best in what scenarios, etc. This kind of expertise was invaluable in figuring out how we could make everything work. Chris even had some great ideas of his own that really helped bring everything together. He hooked us up with uplighting, which really added a nice touch to the venue (we got married in a huge art gallery). And we were even able to book an awesome Red Carpet Photo Booth for the guests, which everyone loved. During the wedding itself, Chris did a great job of setting a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. He really connected with the crowd, and was very responsive to the mood of the room. A lot of the music we selected wasn't really common for a wedding, but Chris managed to put it together in such a way that people really responded to it. Overall, we put a lot on Chris and his team to dictate the flow of the evening, since we weren't doing a typical sit-down dinner, but they did an amazing job keeping everything on track, while still feeling spontaneous. Since the wedding we've gotten a lot of compliments on it, and had several people ask for Chris' contact information to pass along to people they know getting married (which I think says far more than this long sprawling review could).

For the set price you get an unforgettable experience that includes unlimited cotton candy(from a cotton candy machine) and pizza .. a host a dj and a helper .. they also take care of the entire cleanup . My daughter said it was the best day in her life and so many parents said this was the best kids party they ever attended . Brava brava these ladies who run the company really know how to throw a kids birthday party . 10 stars . One of the best days ever . Play freeze dance, have musical chairs or something to engage the kids more. I like the idea but I wont be having any party there anythime soon.

Then we met her husband Denny who is a DJ and fell in love, he has the greatest personality and we had no doubt he would make sure the dance floor was packed and the music was great! We had 130 guests come to our wedding in Jamaica and every single person has not stopped talking about how awesome Kate's photos are and how great Denny was for a DJ! The party never stopped and everyone was on the dance floor all night! We got a preview of photos and they are awesome, we can't wait to see the rest! If your wedding is local or destination, they are the way to go! They are not only professionals, but just really genuine and cool individuals! My husband likes them so much, he wants to try to be friends with them! Thanks again for everything, it was AWESOME!

I have very mixed reviews of Off Beet, who photographed my wedding. Kate, the owner, and one of her…read moreemployees did the wedding. Kate Testa is a lovely person and she takes nice pictures. The large prints that we had made for the wall are delightful. But, I will say, I don't think she is worth the VERY steep price that she charges. Here's why: 1. She doesn't arrive until noon for an afternoon wedding. Or, you can pay more for her to get there earlier. Other photographers will give you the whole day. She missed a lot of photos I would have liked to have had of myself with my bridal party. 2. I think the photos she took of the ceremony were fairly mediocre, although the reception pictures were really good. She does a "photo journalism" style that's better than having all posed photos. 3. She has someone else create the albums, and that person hasn't a damned clue. The original mock-up of the album was bizarrely out of order, and if I hadn't fixed it, the album would be in a strange order. And, my mother was never given a mock up of the parent album, and hers WAS in a strange order. She complained about it, and Kate basically said "tough toenails" (I'm paraphrasing). I'd say this was a good experience in comparison with some of the photographers that my friends worked with. Most of the photos were really good--especially a great photo of me and my husband during a particularly absurd toast. But, for the price we paid for everything, I'm disappointed in some of the pictures that WEREN'T taken, and, frankly, more than a bit pissed off that my parents' album isn't what they wanted.
