The crew showed up a little while after and worked quickly and safely to bring the trees down, and took good care of my property and were very careful. But he told us that he wanted to cut a tree down for the power company. It didn't need to come down since it wasn't going to get any taller but we agreed anyway. We were reluctant because we didn't want to be left with a stump and the tree still produced pears. He said he would make sure it was level so we can mow over it so we agreed to it. We didn't want to be unreasonable or rude so we worked with him. As you can see that's not the case. I was left with a stump that I can't mow over. They also went onto my property a few weeks later without notifying me and started spraying and cutting my shrubs. All of which has been there for years. When we questioned them they said it was also for the power company. As you can see they killed everything. The sliced the bottoms of my shrubs and sprayed them. They wouldn't tell me if the spray is safe for kids or pets to be around so we immediately told them to leave. Unfortunately by this time the damage was done. Never would I call them to do any work for me nor would I recommend them.

Save yourself money, time and a headache and hire anyone else to do your excavating. This was for an above ground pool install and while they said they "dont clean up", our yard was left unlevel for a part of the pool. so I sent pictures and asked them to fix it and they said no. At installation they told me I didn't have enough sand, even though I bought exactly what they said I needed, and said I needed to buy more and finish the job myself. If I had to do it all over again, I would hire a better excavating company to actually do the entire project, fix exactly what I need to be fixed and have an actual finished yard. Now I either have to landscape and relevel a yard myself or find another excavating company to pay to fix what they left behind.

The estimator came at the appointed time, walked the property with us and made note of what we wanted. The estimate was provided via text & email before he pulled out of our driveway. Accepting the estimate and paying the deposit couldn't have been easier. The 4 guys who came to do the work shortly thereafter walked the property with us and were careful to understand exactly what we wanted. They were knowledgeable and professional. Everything was done as we wanted, and they checked in with us during the process to make sure we were satisfied. They cleaned everything up well. Will definitely call BJ Tree Service in a few years to repeat this process.
