If I could give 0 stars I would. I will give credit where credit is due and the guy was decent to talk to. He wasn't rude or anything like that. But he told us that he wanted to cut a tree down for the power company. It didn't need to come down since it wasn't going to get any taller but we agreed anyway. We were reluctant because we didn't want to be left with a stump and the tree still produced pears. He said he would make sure it was level so we can mow over it so we agreed to it. We didn't want to be unreasonable or rude so we worked with him. As you can see that's not the case. I was left with a stump that I can't mow over. They also went onto my property a few weeks later without notifying me and started spraying and cutting my shrubs. All of which has been there for years. When we questioned them they said it was also for the power company. As you can see they killed everything. The sliced the bottoms of my shrubs and sprayed them. They wouldn't tell me if the spray is safe for kids or pets to be around so we immediately told them to leave. Unfortunately by this time the damage was done. Never would I call them to do any work for me nor would I recommend them. read more

we had Davey tree come and first fertilize our walnut trees and then they came and trimmed out any dead wood they also trimmed a cherry tree for us and took out all the dead wood we thought they did an excellent job and we didn't get another quote from anyone else because we liked their arborist and his expertise read more

When the guys were here doing the work, they were very nice and communicated with me. They were very efficient and did a very nice job on my trees and shrubs, as well as an awesome cleanup job. They chopped down a mature, healthy tree in my yard because my neighbor told them to. It was near the property line and they should have known it was at least close, since they used my driveway to stage their equipment. No apologies for trespassing or property destruction. No attempt to make things right. read more

I'm disgusted on how they work. They left my grandpa with a ton of work after cutting a tree in his yard and left. He is a 74 year old man with a wheel chair bound daughter. How are they supposed to clean up that mess? He waited 3 weeks and they never came back. Beware using them .... especially if you are elderly and handicapped. We had requested them to come to our new house to trim a very large tree at our new house. It takes months for them to actually honor your request. I guess it depends on the season and weather. They were here for hours and towards the end of their tree trimming I heard a loud thump. Turns out they dropped a large part of a tree on our front porch. It broke the pillar off its base, crumbled some of it, cracked some of it and scratched paint off. They claimed they would repair it. I've had two people from the company who have come back out to the house to "look at it" but as of now no one has come to fix it. It's pretty upsetting they haven't righted their wrong and poor business practices in my mind. It's not a cheap service and this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Upset with this company. First time it was everything okay. I just was keeping receiving many pamphlets and letters which is annoying but that's fine! Well now that I need to make a question regarding after "hiring work and pay to them" nobody e-mailed me or has returned my calls. Now all the stumps are growing more and more even they though they put some poison in there and me too. Completely unresponsive. Had them trim some bushes and spray some weeds. They waited weeks for the initial work, that was in July, called them back in August to respray the weeds, they didn't come back until October, but by then I had someone else finish the work. It was impossible to get a schedule out of them. read more

I had a tree that was completely hollow inside and was falling down in pieces. So to avoid what I thought was going to be a disaster, I hired Davey to remove the tree. THIS was the disaster that I should have been watching out for. While removing the tree, they dropped a piece and it crashed into my garage, denting it!! Because of this accident they had to stop working and leave to go get drug tested!! After they left, I went to survey the damage. I saw that they knocked down some of my stone retaining wall!! After a week of not hearing from them, I had to call and ask when I could except them to finish the job! They finally came back and while they were working sang songs (Zombie by The Cranberries), joked and screamed while working in my front yard! They needed to use a front loader to remove the base which ate up my yard. At that point I didn't even care, I just wanted them gone!! They are paying for the garage and kinda fixed the wall but it was the absolute worst experience I have ever had hiring a company. I have another tree that needs removed and I'd rather just let it fall on my house then ever have to go through that again! read more

after receiving several mailers from davey, we gave them a call. the gentleman who showed up was courteous and seemed to know what he was talking about (but i don't think he was a certified arborist. ) we made an appointment and i took off work to be there when they came. alas-- 'we're running late, we'll have to reschedule. 'this happened the next 2 times too-i lose 1/2 day of work , get a call, 'sorry we cannot make it today...' if they cannot manage simple things like estimating their jobs and scheduling their crews efficiently and properly, i don't think i'll trust them with our trees. read more
