We generally had a really good experience here. I don't think I'm the nature type though. We stayed in the adult only area and it was nice and quiet. The tents are really spacious and comes with a nice patio with a BBQ and also a bathroom with hot water. On the first night, we found a total of 3 frogs in our bathroom. I got creeped out and luckily they were nice enough to switch us to a different room. I expected bugs, but I can't deal with creatures. A few of the downsides are that the tent is not fully enclosed. It's made with wooden planks (the roof and the floor) and canvas (the walls). You can see the outside through the wooden planks. They put nets above the roof and under the flooring so the nature can't get in, but I still got a little paranoid given our situation. They have cooking things and plates that you can use. I lifted up a couple of plates and there was a bunch of flies stuck to the plates. They clearly count on the guests to clean all the dishes. Speaking of, they provide a sponge, but no dish soap... there's hand soap, shampoo and body wash in the bathroom though. They have a decent amount of activities - common space with indoor and outdoor areas, board games, fire pits, cornhole, a giant pool, live music one of the nights, movie night. The common area and pool was mostly families. They also have bikes for rent. I would suggest renting and e-bike and biking their trails. Their trails are too bumpy for a regular bike (you'll have to work really hard) and it's too boring to walk as a hike (it's a giant field for the most part). We biked to Six Sigma Winery which was a nice break to get some wine tasting and cheese board. Overall, we had a good time. read more

The main lodge was great, with a large pool and outstanding pizzas from the Airstream. The Six Sigma wines were excellent, and the trail network is fantastic. I saw a few other reviews mention the wagons used to get gear to the tents, but honestly, we thought that was part of the charm. Keeping cars in the lot made the tent areas feel quiet, safe, and kid-friendly. Nice euro vibes from the staff. Already planning our next trip. For the price Huttopia charges, our experience was completely unacceptable. The first tent we were assigned was covered in mouse droppings. There were droppings on the bunk beds and in the master sleeping area. While we were eventually moved to a different tent, it took far too long and before being moved the gal helping us was wiping the mouse droppings off with her bare hand and just said she would put sheets on the bed. We eventually got a new tent and the gal did help us move our stuff to the new tent, it was not a great start to our stay and we received little more than a casual apology. The problems didn't stop there. The requirement to park at the bottom of the hill and haul all of your belongings to your site in wagons over thick gravel and steep hills is absurd. I have awful asthma, and dragging our family's gear in 100-degree weather was not only physically exhausting but also caused me to need my inhaler multiple times and then use my breathing machine. We were also traveling with someone who is nearly 80 years old and struggles with mobility. For a resort that claims to provide a "glamping" experience, there seemed to be very little consideration for accessibility or guest comfort. When staff were available, they would occasionally drive our elderly family member to the pool. The problem was actually finding staff. Walkie-talkie calls often went unanswered. We even tried the emergency phone and received no response. Multiple times we wanted something as simple as to purchase a drink or ice cream and ended up waiting or giving up because nobody could be found. The grounds themselves felt neglected. Weeds were everywhere, including the path leading to our tent. In triple-digit temperatures, people are naturally wearing sandals or flip-flops, yet we were constantly getting stabbed by weeds just walking around the property. There wasn't even a maintained path to our site. While we get this is camping, for the price, the grounds need cleaning up and tending to. The pool was one of the few bright spots. It was semi green on our first day but cleared up by days two and three. There was one helpful gal that would check on us every few hours however it was all the in between when we wanted or needed something that made us feel very neglected. The e-bike rental prices we felt were pretty high: $60 for a half day and $100 for a full day. To make matters worse, we traveled with three other families and specifically requested to be placed together. Despite the campground being nearly empty, our group was split across opposite ends of the property. There was absolutely no reason for it and made our stay much different then we all anticipated. The concept of Huttopia is great, but the execution falls short. Between the mouse droppings, lack of responsiveness, accessibility challenges, neglected grounds, and poor guest experience, this stay was nowhere near worth the premium price tag. Needless to say, we won't be back and I would encourage anyone considering a stay here to think carefully before spending their money. read more

This is not the "ultimate hassle-free camping experience" as advertised: Everything up super steep up hill. Unstable loose dirt leading up hip to tents. This is not glamping. Lots of flat ground but you have all your tents on very steep hills/inclined hard to get to. Bring your walking sticks. You can not drive your car up to your tent. Bathrooms are super small and awkward set up. Don't waste your money at this location. Property Not ADA compliant what so ever. Even for check in/out, path ways and access is not thought of. Nothing is on flat land(besides the parking) There's no lighting in tent besides a little camp lantern. Our tent outside lights never turned on (everyone else were on) and once we got to the tent we had no electricity. Totally dissatisfied and disappointing. At check in was not told about the crazy incline to our tent. It would be nice to notify on website. 400 sites, our text second on right, 1. Steep incline with (90 degree almost) loose uneven dirt. 2. Tent had no electricity had to call (first had to find a phone number via internet) and wait for an employee to help with electricity and to bring up our cooler bc we could not pull up steep incline. Thankful for him 3. Paid extra for linen and towels, bed was made but you get 2 body towels, that's it (no wash cloths) nothing to wash your body with. 4. There was outside lights around tent never turned on (solar) 5. No hot water what so ever. Cold, freezing showers for all. Yay! I brought my 75 year old mom here for a hassle free get away and I was just apologizing the entire time to her bc I had no idea about the terrain. The pictures online fooled me big time. At check in, it was meh.... Got ignored for like 5min while 2 employees who were standing at the check in table walked in the back room behind check in table. Was given a key but wasn't told what it was for..... there was a random pad lock sitting on the outside sink. I was there with 2 other campers and they weren't told either just was given a key... ok. At the end of stay went to check out I was behind another camper (not with me) checking out she was asked how was her stay,ect,ect. And thanked her for staying. I was not ...... Huttopia = Best glamping experience! It felt like an outdoor hotel with all of the amenities. The campsite had EVERYTHING. There was a pool, playground, cafe and lots of games and activities. They had s'mores one night and an outdoor movie the next night. There were kid craft activities in the morning - making dream catchers and painting pumpkins. Our tent had a bathroom (toilet and shower), kitchenette, cooler, outdoor sink, grill and solar power. They even provided large ice packs for the coolers in the tent. The employees were friendly. Something to keep in mind - you can't park by your tent. They provide heavy duty carts but depending on where your tent is located, it could be a long/steep walk hauling all of your things. We booked when they had a buy two get one night free deal so it made it even more affordable. Highly recommend this place! read more

We live locally and were so excited when Huttopia Wine Country opened in Lake County--especially since we're big fans of nearby Six Sigma Winery. This glamping destination is beautifully done. The tents are well-appointed, but what really sets this spot apart is the family-friendly setup: a pool, playground, and an amazing on-site restaurant with a lounge and activity space. The restaurant has quickly become one of our favorite spots for a casual Friday or Saturday night--delicious wood-fired pizza, a bottle of wine, and great company out on the deck. The staff is warm and welcoming, and many seem to be hospitality students, which adds to the experience. Just down the road, Six Sigma offers not only great wine but also hiking and biking trails. Do keep in mind it gets hot here in summer, so plan accordingly. Huttopia is truly an unexpected gem--an oasis right here in Lake County! read more

We stayed here in July 2025 and had a nice time. The staff were amazing and personable. When we arrived it was only one other family here. After we checked in the reception area we got a map of the campground and where we would be staying. We brought a lot of stuff and had some help to haul our stuff to our tent. During the summer months it can it very hot out here so keep that in mind. There weren't many trees that provided shade where we were staying. There is a cute store, cafe for food and a pool. They also have games and books to borrow in the central area. A few things to know before you come here: there is wifi only in the recreation area. There is no wifi in the tent areas. We were put further away from the common space so I would recommend to bring hiking boots if you need to walk to and front your tent to the common area. The weekends appear to be more busy than during the week. They have different activities for the kids more during the weekend. In regard to the lodging, the tent was great. They provided us with a lot of necessities (pots, pans, cooking utensils, coffee press, plates, cups, utensils, cutting board, strainer, 2 lanterns). You are also provided a propane grill and an outside sink with a dish rack to let your dishes dry. There are also two fans inside the tent. It gets really hot inside the tent during the day. In regard to the bathroom, it's about the size of a cruise bathroom if you have ever been on one. It's small, but it gets the job done. The shower would get hot and then cold. We were told to shower in the evening time, but that was only after we asked them due to us having issues with the water. Something to note, they provide body wash and shampoo. No conditioner. They also provide toilet tissue (Scott's). Something to also note, you have to pay extra for bedding. It does not come with bedding or towels. We paid for the bedding and towels, but it does not come with wash clothes so bring your own. I also recommend for you to bring a little heater or sleeping bag if possible. It gets extremely cold at night. Some things we are so glad we bought with us which include extra lanterns. It can get dark at night and they only provide you with two small ones. Paper towels (they do not provide this). Extra trash bags, water jug, extra blanket, games to play in the tent, speaker for music, and beach towels. They do provide a large ice cooler and ice packs that you can trade in and out. Check out was smooth. We had to bring out stuff down the hill and that was a bit of a workout. They also have wagons, but some of the tents are located further up the hill so I would hope that Huttopia figure out a different system for guest to bring their stuff up and down. The golf cart was nice during check in, but I know as they get busier that can't do that for every guest. Overall it was a great and relaxing time. The heat was a beast in July, but it was not over 100F. For the Huttopia staff, thank you! We had a great time. We will be back! read more

Do NOT book this trip if you need any flexibility or consideration. I planned a trip with my family, including a 3-year-old, a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the area is experiencing an intense heat wave. Temperatures will be exceeding 109 for the entirety of our stay. Traveling with a toddler to an outdoor based experience with soaring temperatures is ridiculous. We called the company to try to recoup our costs because we could not in good conscience proceed as planned, and they refuse to refund any portion of the trip. They will only transfer the stay to another time in the year-however we are moving out of state in a few weeks and can not take advantage of a different date. They value their bottom line above everything else. Their cancelation policy is more stringent than a hotel, so buyer beware. read more

Be aware that they take their "no cancellations within 7 days" policy very seriously. Even though we found other people to take over our reservation, they wouldn't allow us to switch our reservation to them and our reserved room is sitting empty tonight.
