Anyway, I found the service overpriced, took a long time, and the lady working the job didn't seem very interested in having a new customer. She was kind of rude, made it seem like she didn't have much time to serve me, kind of "barked orders" at me. I've never been to an alterations person before and didn't know what to expect, so I was slow and inexperienced, she probably sensed that, but still "barked" at me and seemed to really be inconvenienced by me and my request for service. The job was OK, but when I picked it up, she didn't ask me if I was satisfied or anything, just held out her hand for pay. It was a lot more costly than I had imagined, and since she only accepted cash or a check, I had to leave my item, go home and get more money, then pick up later. I was so put off by her that I almost left the item there and thought, "you can have my pants!" I did go pick up later, but I don't even want to wear the pants because they remind me of her! I stopped in on the off chance that the seamstress could work a miracle and shorten my jacket sleeves for me within just a few hours time. She was the SWEETEST business owner I have ever encountered. She said that she would stay late to make sure she got my jacket fixed for me in time for my interview and would call me that afternoon when she was done. So, after dropping off the jacket after 1:00pm, I received a call before 4:30pm that my jacket was ready! And her work was IMPECCABLE!! This was by far the worst job experience I've ever had. I worked here every single day from 7:30am…read moreto 5pm making only $8/hour, and even then my paychecks were regularly three days late. If I arrived early, I wasn't allowed to clock in until 8, and if I stayed past 5, I had to clock out at 5 anyway--so the extra time I worked meant nothing. When I finally called off one day because of a family emergency, my boss screamed at me, cursed at me, and even threatened me instead of showing any basic respect. He told me to "stay put" while he came to snatch the work keys and throw my check at me. That's how this business treats its employees--no compassion, no professionalism, and no respect. If you value fair treatment and timely pay, stay far away from this place.
