Thank you for the $75 arrangement plus delivery and tip for my mom's birthday... I even know carnations are not worth $75 (anywhere) I was kind. then I asked if they could replace the bouquet... here's what I got. Not happy. This is disgraceful. I called again and they came back, TOOK HER flowers back, did not refund me and gave her a dead plant. I'm embarrassed for you Hy-Vee. I was just in to return to return Halloween candy last night and I was accused of a money situation by an assistant manager. I asked for cash back since my mom give me her credit card. She didn't give me the correct cash. Then my mom came in and tried to calm the situation down. It didn't help. The assistant manager was not nice and rude and I won't return to Hy-Vee again. read more

My husband and I had a very negative experience with one of the butchers at the HyVee on Devils Glen in Bettendorf on July 2, 2023, so I had posted a negative review of their butcher counter on Yelp. Management from that HyVee store reached out to us the very next morning and apologized for what had happened. They did make things right with us and so I am changing my negative review to a very positive one. This HyVee location clearly does care about the quality of service they provide to their customers. Love HyVee! Always go there when we come to town to get the Jolly Time Mallow Magic popcorn that tastes like rice crispy treats. I need to see if my Krogers can get it. Meat counter is the best. I email or call and order for stuffed mushrooms every year for the holidays and they always come through. Its a stuffed mushroom that they use to carry but no longer...only special orders. Always helpful and cheerful staff. And the teenagers that work there do not act like teens. They act more mature. read more

I always visit Hy-Vee in the late hours to get groceries, as the overnight staff is so kind and helpful! Everything is nicely stocked and despite being in the midst of a lot of work in a short amount of time, the employees are never hesitant to help me by answering questions or taking me to where I need to go. For awhile, I was buying SO MUCH ginger root, that they began to know me as the "ginger guy". LOL! It's that kind of rapport that any customer likes to have with a business and helps them come back! I'm impressed with the health food/organic section! WOW! There are brands here that never existed 10 years ago in the Quad Cities. I thought these brands could only be found in NYC. I've never ran across since blatant ignorance of a store's own policies in my life. I tried to buy an additional gift card here for a late holiday gift, just like I'd done all season long using a credit card, and was told that was against their policy. KEEP IN MIND I literally just bought one here Sunday using the same credit card, I even showed the manager the digital receipt as proof! Yeah, I could have just used the debit card but I like the points, and I've ALWAYS done gift cards for family this way (I also use this method to fund my EBay purchase as EBay has issues with PayPal). Never been more frustrated. Stuff like this is the difference between HyVee and Fareway. Fareway folks actually know their own policies. read more

This Hyvee is at middle road and Devils Glen road. It is well stocked with fresh produce, seafood, chinese, starbucks, etc. They also have a USPS, bank and a pharmacy too. The staff is helpful and courteous. read more

We recently discovered that Hy-Vee carries no medical insurance at all for their customers. Our daughter was injured in their store, nearly losing a finger. It required an ambulance ride, months of doctor visits, etc., and we cannot even get a call back from corporate. Turns out they self-insure for this type of accident, and ignore their customer until they lawyer up (which is our next step). We haven't shopped there for 5 months now because of this, as well as a number of family and friends. Design-wise, Hy-vee reminds me of Shoppers Food Warehouse (SFW) in DC. Service-wise, reminds me of H-E-B, THE grocery store of southern Texas...especially their "mini-cafes" in the store. They had pizzas, Chinese food, salads and other options that you could pick and dine there. Their Chinese food was so good and filling too. I couldn't even finish my lunch. Hyvee breakfast pre-pandemic was actually very good. Now just stay away, they have removed hash browns with flat tasteless home style potatoes. Sour dough toast looks like tiny melba toast! The prices of the grocery store are inflated and ridiculous. The breakfast is expensive and just boring. If you're a senior then it seems to be the hang out for this crowd, and since they don't know what a good meal is it's perfect for them. This is a great Hy-Vee location! We're not from the area but do have family in the area and have visited this location a handful of times. This is one of the nicer Hy-Vees we've been to. I love the high V store in Bettendorf one of the better grocery stores in town. But I will never do business there Pharmacy again they play games with people. They say that my doctors have never sent scripts when my doctors say they have sent scripts for my medications that I need to survive. I do not appreciate that sometimes it took me 2 weeks to get medication I need that is why I give it a lower score repeat never use their Pharmacy they are also very expensive at their Pharmacy I have found out I now go to Walgreens and it's much lower cost for medication there read more

I've met so many new people, between the amazing customers that I have the opportunity to interact with and my coworkers. I never come to work with less than a smile on my face. I'm not sure what is going on but seems like there is lack of staff,f all of a sudden, all over the store. Hard to find help when you need it. I bagged my own groceries because the your man waiting on me, no fault of his, was slammed and just needed help. I sure do hope this is a temporary situation. Wish we had a place like this in Chicago. The produce is always fresh, deli has unlimited options, even their nut selection is impressive. Six o'clock on a Saturday and found there was a half hour wait for fried chicken. The young man said I could buy a chicken in a bag which I did as this was the only way I would get any wings. When I asked where to pay for my order I pointed to the register at the end of his counter or at one of the main store registers. Since no one was at his register I went to a main express register where there was a line. After waiting about 5 minutes and the line was not moving I went back to the register at the food court. After waiting for this clerk to finish his conversation with another store employee I paid for my food and went home. When my wife and I opened the chicken bag it looked half cooked. The skin was still white and soft. cutting into the chicken I thought I was but aboard ship in the Navy. Too much red on the meat and bones. The most helpful store in the world! I had surgery on both feet and needed a cart with motor to get around to shop. A young gentleman employee saw that I looked and didn't find one and was going to have to walk with braces on both feet around the store. He found a place for me to sit and found one for me to use at the other end of the store.. As I was shopping and couldn't reach an idem or two other wonderful employees came to my aid. I am 71 and was so happy to be NOT invisible . And I have been to other stores where as they say on my own when shopping. I live over 40 miles from the Bettendorf (Devils Glen store) and will continue to shop at your store. Please let your amazing employees how much I value each and every one of them. This location has the largest selection of gluten free products, over any other Hyvee, Jewel, Walmart, Super Target. It's in a special section behind registers. Hy-Vee is a great place. The only problem I have with this particular location is that the people at the check up don't follow code. I used to work at Hy-Vee, and we had to always say thank you to the customer before they said thank you. They don't say that there, but everywhere else. I even went to customer service, and this did not change. -1 star for normalness -1 star for non-code following cashers. read more

6 months after getting back from Afghanistan I went to this Hyvee on Veterans Day to get the free breakfast for vets. I got in line and the store director asked me if I was a vet and I said yes, then he laughed in my face, gave me my sticker to stay in line and walked away. read more
