It's a beautiful property and has a wonderful pool, and easy access to the campus of WKU. It's styled as the Official Hotel of Western Kentucky University. The Hyatt is in a terrific location, right in the heart of the campus and on Fraternity Row. The room was clean, bed comfortable and breakfast was included too. Then pray tell why would I give only two stars. That would be a freight train loud air conditioning unit, that is even missing screws from the metal cover that indicates to me previous problems. The noise was so loud that it kept my wife and my self up most of the night. We informed the desk of the problem in the morning and there was an apparent lack of concern. Thanks to events going on at WKU, I was at this property on two separate stays very close together. My sample size of two rooms gave me a pretty good idea of the property, and while it is overall very nice, there is some room for improvement. Location: Excellent, it's really close to WKU and downtown with shopping and restaurants, the Mexican restaurant right outside the door (just like the Alumni Center) is particularly excellent. While this seems like it would make parking difficult, there's actually a large unloading area and then a quick loop around the block to an easy to access garage with simple hotel access. Parking is free for hotel guests, just don't be like me and lose your slip, huge thanks to the front desk for giving me another one. Speaking of Staff: All of the staff were absolutely fantastic, super helpful and friendly, one specific guy who worked the front desk and had long hair (can't remember the name, sorry!) was particularly amazing, other hotels could learn a few things about customer service from him. Common Areas: The lobby area is beautiful, the shop is nice, and the fitness and business centers looked well equipped. The outdoor pool was closed for the season. All of the hallways and elevators were well kept and the outdoor fire pits were a nice touch. Also, the free breakfast was excellent, well above average. Security: All exterior doors require locks, the garage and walkways are well lit, and both rooms had a fire map, peephole, RFID key reader/deadbolt, and a flip out lock, no issues here. Room(s): I stayed in rooms 210 and 222 on my stay, both of which being two queen rooms, and they were practically identical, so I'll go over them as a whole. The entry way is nice with a spacious bathroom with a tub/shower off to the right. The frosted glass, sliding door is a nice touch. Beyond this to the right is a sofa/living area, a small divider wall, and two queen beds with a night stand in the middle. On the other wall was a desk, fridge, coffee maker, TV, drawers, and closet. The window was nice, the view was decent, and the HVAC worked well. Why isn't this a five star review? -The bathroom had a missing towel holder in 210 and a hook falling off the wall in 222. -The showers in both rooms could've been cleaner and both had some mold on the ceiling above them. -While all of the furniture in the rooms looked great, there were several scratch marks and other cosmetic issues throughout both rooms. Nothing serious enough to be dangerous or effect usability, but definitely worth noting for a Hyatt property. -While clean and comfortable, the presentation of the beds left a bit to be desired, as did the cleanliness of the side tables in both rooms. Overall, this still is an excellent property that I have no problem recommending, especially for anyone doing things at WKU, but there's a few things they could do a bit better. read more

Their Expedia listing was wrong, as they did not have laundry as was stated. Some staff were friendly, manager not so much. Can't get more than one device online!! I was so disappointed in my room. I've stayed at other Hyatt Places and didn't have that issue before. Didn't bother to contact tech support, as I was only there for one night. But it was a tad annoying to look at my bf's smug face while he played with his iPad over the wifi connection, and I had to make so using my phone and my phone plan. The hotel has a nice fitness center right next to the pool and parking garage. Not much to watch on the built in tv stations on the treadmill at 5:30 am, so I just listened to my own music while exercising. Breakfast options were awesome. I made myself a Southern Comfort bowl. I like how they have different options each day for the scrambled egg and toppings. My sautéed bell peppers and onions were smothered in gobs of cheese. So much cheese... The steel cut oats were a bit hard and gritty. They probably could have cooked them longer to soften them up. Coffee was lukewarm. French toast was good. The fresh blueberries and blackberries were fabulous. I liked the fresh green apples in the lobby. Overall, a nice place to stay. On the edge of campus, facing fraternity row. But school was out when we visited, so everything was quiet. read more

There is just nothing like a brand new hotel. This place still has that "new hotel" smell! This Hyatt place is the official hotel of WKU. It is located right next to campus and next door to their Augenstein Alumni Center. The garage is the same one the students can use. It is the most convenient hotel if you are visiting WKU. The rooms are spacious and priced well. Our room had 2 queen beds and a sitting area with a pull-out sofa. The bathroom is spacious, modern and squeaky clean. I even liked the fact that they have finally given up on window drapes completely. In place of the old dusty drapes, the rooms are equipped with a room darkening blind and a light filtering mesh blind. I also have to rave about the complimentary breakfast. In place of weird powdered eggs or sausage pucks and gravy, a hot "skillet" is offered here. Three hot skillets are set out and filled with breakfast sandwiches on English muffin or croissant. There are also the usual juices, cereals and breads. We had a wonderful stay here. I definitely recommend this hotel! read more

This place is clean and feels brand new. Great sized rooms with modern furniture. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The TV's include HBO. The bathroom is large and the shower had great water pressure. They have a nice but small outdoor pool as well as a pleasant gym area. They sell food in the lobby until midnight. Overall the staff was very friendly. Breakfast is from 6:30 - 9:30 am. Unfortunately I have to leave for work before 6:30 so I didn't have a changed to try it. Drawbacks: a train runs through town all night so if you're a light sleeper I would not recommend this hotel. By the 2nd night I figured out if I leave the TV on it drowns out the train whistle. This one is a big drawback for me; they do not have room service. Lastly, there are no microwave or safes in the rooms. They also do not leave water in the rooms as do most hotels in town. All in all I will definitely be coming back. Even with the few drawbacks, this place is nicer than a few other hotels I've tried in town. read more

This is a terrible place to stay at if you are concerned about your health especially during these Covid times. We found used band aids and used cups in one of the rooms we booked and used coffee pods in the other. The staff refused to give us alternate rooms citing we booked though a third party (hotels.com) and would have to take it up with them. This place definitely has potential. They are lacking (slacking) in the areas that shouldn't be neglected. Three nights here and the tub will not hold water. The breakfast needs the most work. I found a lot of "clean" cups on the shelf but they were actually really dirty. They need a good hand washing. The garbage and used plates and silverware are piled up everywhere because staff is not taking the dirty dishes back or emptying the trash. No paper cups to make waffles. This is the second Hyatt Place we stayed. Once, somewhat recently, in Austin Tx...so I compared the two. The one in Bowling Green was of course smaller, no one helped with luggage, the breakfast wasn't as tasty/nor looked as appetizing, no indoor pool, also the walls seemed thinner/could hear neighbors and folks in the hallway too easily. We were so happy that the college right across the street was out for winter break. If not, being there would have been too close for comfort. Austin's location was larger, had great breakfast, staff helped with luggage, had indoor pool and was nestled in the heart of downtown near cool places. The only downside was paying for valet parking. In summation, learned that location, location, location is important! read more

Although during the time my Fiancee and I stayed here there seemed to be no activity since everyone was probably gone for the summer. However it is close to local quick-bites and was close to the Corvette Museum which we wanted to see in KY. The inside is very clean and it had a mini-fridge and microwave which was nice. This hotel, while being the most expensive in the area offers motel 6 level of customer service. They spend their time at the front desk on their cell phones and making themselves specialty coffees, if you have to approach the front desk they make it clear that you are inturupting and do nothing to make you feel like a guest, they did not make eye contact, they did not tell you anything about the hotel, none of the things you expect, they could not answer a single question about the Hyatt rewards program and were not even aware of what Mlife was ...so there was no assignment allowed of rewards points earned to mlif, we paid for the king suite, it was equivalent to a hospital rehab room, there was no bat instead a roll in shower with a moldy bath mat and furniture in the shower, when I asked for a room with a bath I was laughed at and told there were no rooms available, the bed was phenomenal very comfortable, the wwifi was on point, the are that we were directed to park was filthy with the trashes overflowing and the floor sticky and gross. The suite had a microwave a small fridge, and a coffee pot. It included coffee for 3 cups of coffee a one teabag. ..2 disposable cups...lots of empty cupboards with one single coffee cup, ours was dirty. In the drawer there was a silverware tray that was of the 99 cent store variety and one spoon. The pool was closed, even though the website said it was open. The gym was open but we only found that out because we saw someone working out. The breakfast was cereal, apples, yogurt, peanut butter and jelly uncrustables, the web site states hot grab and go breakfast sandwiches...not true, and it specifies that those are the options because of covid, normal operations state omlettes and waffles..so they didn't even meet the reduced parameters that they set. They did have a coffee bar, but I'm pretty sure it was just for employees since I watched another guest approach and not purchase one, there was no menu ...at one point a manager type came out asked if the coffee in progress was the employees. .so it could just be it was only for employees. When we checked out no one asked how was your stay, instead we approached the front desk, waited 15 seconds of so for the staff member to finish her text, asked if we needed help, I stated we wanted to check out and I set the keys down on the desk where she picked them up two fingers and tossed them into a bucket of filthy water, she said okay. I asked her for a receipt she audibly sighed and asked our room number, waited for the receipt to print out layed it down and as she was walking away said "anything else" um no. Its as though she hated us . Every other person we have met in Kentucky has been so sweet and kind, I can't think of a single reason that makes logical sense for the awful treatment. read more

We were here on business and were not aware that it was a college town. At first we concerned that the hotel is located across the street from sorority/fraternity houses but it was an unfounded worry--at least on a Sunday night. The hotel was a typical Hyatt property with a decent workout room and a very good breakfast with a lot of fruit and hot selections. The rooms were clean and overall it was a good stay. This Hyatt Place was a great value and a perfect place to stay in Bowling Green. Situated on the edge of Western Kentucky University's campus, the hotel is adorned with WKU touches in the lobby and public spaces and overall looks new and very modern. It is also close to many sites in Bowling Green, which makes it a centralized location. The parking garage is free and easy to access, which is also a bonus. The entire hotel was impeccably clean and all of the staff were kind, courteous, and accommodating. There is a small gated pool outside as well as a firepit. We used the fitness center twice, which includes free weights, treadmills, elliptical, and exercise bikes (if I remember correctly). Breakfast is 6:30 AM-9:30 PM and is included in the hotel price. The food spread includes coffee, juices, eggs, some carb dish (waffles, pancakes, potatoes, etc.), cereal, fruit, cottage cheese, toast, etc. There is definitely something for everyone to eat. Fruit flavored water is available in the lobby. In terms of the rooms we had a king for 2 nights. The room is very spacious for two people and was immaculate. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryer, microwave, mini-fridge, cable TV. There was plenty of seating on the couch and spaces to store clothes and the bed was very comfortable. I am not sure if we will ever find ourselves in Bowling Green again, but I highly recommend this Hyatt Place. It was a perfect experience. read more

Don't stay here if you are a light sleeper! Trains run through the night. Why the city limits doesn't have a no horn policy after midnight (safety?) is unknown. But trains honking 4 times is a little much! The hotel itself is nice. Clean and looks new. The staff that checked us in needs a little more training. They couldn't bring up our reservation with the booking number? The tv is HD and staggers so forget watching it, the HD signal is bad. Breakfast was good. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here for the weekend. The location is a bit off the beaten track, not out by the highway, but it is obviously located near the university for a reason. The neighborhood is lovely with elegant fraternity housing and well-kept gingerbread Victorian style homes going on for blocks. The high temperatures kept us from walking the area this weekend, as well as our purpose was a driving event at the NCM Motor Park so we were hot and tired when we returned to the hotel. We found many restaurants down the hill in the really nice downtown area, Thai Thai the first night, and the 2nd night we used the hotel shuttle to go a bit further to Novo Dolce. There's a lovely pool at the hotel surrounded by a nice garden which stayed open until 10 pm and we took advantage of it both nights. The room was spacious and the air conditioning worked very well. The king bed was firm with plenty of pillows. Nice shower and good towels. It was pretty quiet though we did hear a bit of noise from neighbors late one night and a bit of street noise probably from the sports bar across the street and down the hill half a block. But it didn't last long. Also I think the airconditioners might have been humming a bit as they were really working overtime on this weekend. But I am a light sleeper and I notice the little things. None of these were noticed at all by my hubby. There is a nice bar in the hotel that was popular for a nightcap and bakery snacks available. The best part though was the breakfast. We had to rush to the track in the morning and the staff saw me filling a napkin with fruit and asked if I wanted a to-go box. I was so glad as I tried the sausage and potatoes and monkey bread too then. The potatoes had carrots and onions and herbs and were so good! And the monkey bread, little doughnut hole sized gooey cinnamon bread pull-aparts were delicious. Plenty of fresh fruit: blueberries and strawberries, grapes and I think pineapple. Scrambled or boiled eggs and more. A really lovely breakfast with Pete's coffee too. We found all the staff to be friendly and the hotel very clean. We will definitely be back. I will just say this is among the better hotel experiences I've had. We stayed in a suite- comfy bed, modern shower, tv in the dining area. I loved all the dish-ware, random I know. But everything really was super cozy and gave an err of high class at the same time. However, there was no way to rent movies from the TV! & no DVD player... What the heck. Breakfast sucks..im disgusted ( especially after the dirry band aid) staff more concerned about watching tv. Cigarette tower in the breezeway overturned with butts all over the place. One of the best hotels in this price range I've ever stayed at. The beds were absolutely comfortable with feather like pillows. The air conditioning system wasn't stuck below the window. It was in the wall like you are at home. They have wonderful AC units that are quiet and allow you to sleep at the temperature you love. Breakfast was very surprising. Food that I have never seen at hotels. Fresh made Oat Groats with lots toppings. It's like oatmeal but chewier. Lots of fresh fruit. Cage free eggs. Fresh bacon and fresh French toast. Of course there was fresh fruit. Staff was incredibly nice. Wish all hotels in this price range would be like this. read more

We stayed here back in October 2015. We were very impressed with this hotel. The rooms were clean and modern. We had a bed and a sectional couch. It was located right next to the university. I wish I had the pictures to post but they were on my old phone that broke. They offered a free breakfast buffet when we stayed that was fresh and good. It included typical free hotel breakfast such as eggs, cereal, sausage, waffles, fruit, etc. I would stay here again. The room also included wifi. read more

Visited this location for a one night stay in Bowling Green. This is a new addition to the city and has only been open a short while. It's located on the edge of WKU campus and minutes from downtown. So for convenience, it definitely checked all the boxes for my trip. Check-in is at 3pm which is about when we arrived. The front desk is fairly small, but the staff greeted us immediately, checked us in, provided our complimentary parking pass and gave us directions. There is a short walk from the parking lot back into the hotel, but it leads directly to the elevators. With only 4 floors we were happy to be on the 3rd. Less traffic overall, but I'm not sure if it would've made much of a difference because we heard nothing from neighboring rooms. The room was a good size - king size bed, sofa, desk, 42 inch mounted tv. Room is very modern as is the bathroom. There was no bathtub, but the shower was massive and included a large shower head. As it is summer time, the central air conditioner control in each room made me happy. However, in trying to settle in we discovered our ac wasn't kicking in. I did call the front desk and they sent maintenance immediately. He verified it wasn't working and we were conveniently moved to a room right next door. BRAVO for great customer service! As for other amenities, it's a small hotel so there was no restaurant on site. They do however provide a complimentary "sizzling" breakfast, and they have a bar/deli area where you can get adult beverages and sandwiches, burgers, etc. There is also a fitness area that is open 24 hours. Overall, this was a nice first stay at this location. Aside from the ac hiccup at check-in there were no other issues. I was declined for a late checkout (although I had been told the night before there was availability) which left me perturbed. However, I would return to this location if visiting this side of Bowling Green again. read more

If all the employees we're like Brittany their "supervisor" 2 stars would be way too high! I made reservations to visit the Hyatt Place Bowling Green this weekend. Due to family emergencies we are no longer able to travel to Bowling Green. We did purchase a non refundable hotel room that I was highly aware of. Family emergencies aren't something you plan on happening. I called last night and spoke with a young girl about getting a refund and she told me that she could refund me because we called 48 hours in advance. She explained to me that they hold the payment until you check in and then whenever you check-in the payment is taken out. When I checked my bank account the money was already posted out. I called back and explain to the girl and the lady standing next to her told her I would have to contact the third-party in order to get a refund which I did the following morning. Booking.com got back with me and said they would be in contact with the hotel to see if they could make an exception. When I called the Hyatt Bowling Green this morning I spoke with Brittany. Her hospitality is garbage! She told me repeatedly that I chose the nonrefundable room and that I would not be getting a refund. She was very unprofessional so I hung up the phone. As mad as I was because there's no way we could make it there this weekend, I called back. I questioned how last night I was told I could be refunded then this morning there was no way?!? How does that make sense! I then asked to speak with someone else. The next lady I spoke with was a little more professional thank God. Casey was her name. Casey also explained to me that we chose a nonrefundable room. I told her I understood that but we did have emergencies and we would not be able to come. Doing the right thing, she offered to switch the dates for me. Not knowing which dates we'd be able to go next I didn't take this offer so she offered one night to be refunded. Thank you Casey! We stayed here for one night so we didn't have to drive hours in the early morning to make it to a conference. The rooms were very clean and parking is included. It was a pretty good deal when splitting the room, but it might not be the best deal if you're on your own. The free breakfast had a lot of options and served good coffee. read more
