Overall great experience there aren't many shops like this around. Every part of the store has a story being told. We spent a good 40 mins walking around looking at every inch of the store there is so much to See and I didn't feel overwhelmed. I had to see the entire store then did a quick walk through one more time making sure I didn't miss anything. When you walk in you feel like you are teleported into a magical land of some sort. I wanted to buy everything. I'm honesty going back for more before I leave Idaho. They even wrapped a gift I bought for my sister with beautiful bows you don't get that often! A fun Hyde Park shop that accurately depicts itself of having "uncommon goods" throughout their store. It's not a shop that you'll fully appreciate if you're impatient or in a rush. I think it's best served going in with some patience. Seemingly every space of this corner store entails really cool items, whether it is paper goods, lighting, candles, textiles, simple gifts, or furniture. Wow! What a store filled with a-may-zing (read it that way) gifts, trinkets, and gifts you should buy for your self and wrap up in cute paper and open three seconds later! You will want everything in here. Okkkk, there may be one thing that doesn't fire your fancy but I am sure it will fit someone in your life. This wonderful store has things you would never think of which means you have to go see it to know. This store isn't accessible. The walkways /isles are overly narrow, and while I have a small purse, I am ALWAYS worried about knocking something over on accident. In addition, I also would NOT bring children in here. There are some extremely expensively wonderful items in here and because of the narrow isles, breaking something is probable with a little mini around. I know if I was a kid in there I would touch everything, (oh ya, I still am a kid and yes, I still touch everything! Hmmm... Ok this was my first time in this wonderful little store. 1st, being in Hyde Park Neighborhood, the name is pretty fantastic. You can see from across the street how do incredible this place is. The big windows allow you to get a great idea and you are truly drawn in. There is so much to look at. SO MUCH! It's awesome. It reminds me of a honey craft type store that I would shop at with my mom when she lived back home...and the type of store we would still go to together. She would LOVE this store. However, I'm pretty sure this isn't the typical type of little craft store lol. Everything looks like a homey antique, but (and yell at me if I'm wrong) I'm pretty sure everything in there is brand new. The store is legit brilliant. You could spend a GREAT amount of time in there and still miss something haha! They have so much! Wait, I said that already, huh? Well, I'll probably say it again because OMG! So much! Hahaha! The lady working there was very nice. Immediately asked if we needed help and after a bit asked again. Great customer service. Every piece in there is so unique and wonderful. I'm don't want repeat myself too much here haha! One thing, it's a cute little store with SO MUCH (See, I keep saying it lol) and it is a north end store. So, expect to pay a little more at this place. The location, sure, but more so because of how unique their stuff is. Lots of things for all over the house and outside your house. Lawn ornaments and whatnot. Really Is a beautiful store. I'll definitely go back, I'll definitely bring newbies there because IIIIIII am no longer a newbie! I was in Boise, mid April, meeting my Aunt and Cousin for the 1st time. We ate lunch at a good place across the street from Hyde and Seek. My Aunt loves to shop here when she needs a really beautiful, unique gift, and I was excited to come and look around. What a lovely shop! so many beautiful, cool, unique, 1 of a kind items! I looked for a very long time at everything lolol. I bought my mother a cute little dish, and my mother thought it was so unique! My mother also got a coffee mug and she said how beautifully made it was. It was hand painted. I met Shawnee, and she was sooooo incredibly lovely and sweet! and we talked for a long bit...This is a place i will come too everytime i come see my Aunt. What a great store! We love this place! It is so eclectic, and almost overwhelming (but in a really good way)! When we built our home a couple of years ago, we designed a vintage 'sun room,' and purchased a very cool vinyl rug from here. They have a variety of patterns, and you can custom order what you like. It is just perfect for our space. In general, we absolutely adore the Hyde Park area, where this beautiful shop resides. Really cool store, but the owner was extremely rude and unfriendly. Store is amazing- but super strange rule of no photos or videos which only shows that she is insecure. Lots of neat things (and things you can find at other shops in Boise) but I would not spend hard earned money to support the yuppy owner from Alaska. This Idaho native will not return. read more

We had lunch at 13th Pub and Grill. I could not keep my eyes off the stuff hanging in the windows of the store across the street. The stain glass pieces hanging there were calling my name. Then my mother in law says "I want to take you to a place called Hyde and Seek" and magically it was the store across the street. You walk in and are immediately in awe of all the things displayed so perfectly all over the store. Each display popped with amazing color and elegance. They have a little bit of furniture, candles, gift items galore. Sensory overload. I am trying to save money but it was impossible not to keep picking things up. I purchased a few things as gifts and the rest are for me. Like I need more things! Haha The staff was friendly for "boutique ladies". They definitely took their time gift wrapping the gifts. It was worth the wait as they did a fantastic job with the wrap. Prices were a bit high. But I am sure 13th street is a high digit rental zone. But their "uncommon goods" are worth every penny. You will find things you have never seen before. They even carry goods from local artisans. If you are ever in historic BODO you should definitely check it out! I did purchase an item and of course it broke within three days. I think the product she selling are very cheap. Hide and seek is one of those shops that can keep you completely and utterly entertained and fascinated for hours! When I first moved to Boise, the wonderful owners of this place had just moved from Alaska and I saw the beginnings of their shop forming. I was so excited about having them located so close to where I lived and to have such a gorgeous, diverse, European feeling type of gift shop so close by. Even though it was close to me, if I lived far away, I would still make the trip to get here to peruse in wonder! The shop is full to the gills at all times with some of the most beautiful items I've seen and some of them are new, and some of them seem like they could be vintage, but all around, absolutely stunning gifts and things for your home are aplenty! What fascinates me most is how the heck the owners keep up with that much inventory! They're on top of it like I've never seen! I couldn't imagine keeping up with that much and they do such a great job at picking out such fun items! The window display, and the interior are constantly evolving and rotating so that each time you walk in you see something new! Some of the most sweet little things I've purchased in town have been purchased at this shop! They have a plethora of candles, soaps, knickknacks, necklaces, notepads, tea towels, and so many other great items! during the holiday season, it's especially amazing! Descendants of the pine candles permeates the air, and all the beautiful glass and Christmas tree ornaments Sparkle! I lose myself in this magical place time and time again and speaking of time ....well it just seems to fly by when you are having fun shopping here! In addition to all of the lovely smaller items, they also have substantial pieces of gorgeous rustic furniture dotting the walls and huge beautiful chandeliers made of wood and glass and so much more. You'll have to go check it out yourself! The owners, and all of the staff are always so wonderful! They are friendly, attentive, accommodating, flexible, full of ideas, creative and charming as can be! Oh and the way they wrap a gift for you.....So Whimsical, elegant, colorful, and perfect!!! "Hyde and Seek" is the perfect name for this shop! I spent nearly 30 minutes in here the other day meandering around looking at all of their journals. I'd say, at least 5 times, I picked up a new journal and decided I was going to buy it until I found a different one that I loved even more! You could easily make a loop around this store 10 times and still not see everything they have to offer. The products they carry range from paper products to home decor and children's books. It's a very eclectic mixture of things you'll find in here, but all of them are so intriguing! They have a lot of "365 days of --------" things in here. 365 days of Jane Austen. 365 happy thoughts. Etc. I will agree with what other reviewers said about it not being the most accessible store. As I said at the beginning of this review--"Hyde and Seek" is a perfect description for this shop--that's because there are things piled up high, squeezed up against each other, and filling in every nook and cranny possible. Be cautious when picking something up from a display, chances are, there are 3 other products being held up by it. Overall: Such a fun and quirky little shop. This store was so awesome and amazing that I took tons of pictures and did a whole blog post about it. I didn't really look at the prices, seemed a bit spendy, lots of breakable items but I fell in love with all the owl items in the store. There were quite a lot which was extremely exciting to me.
