We ended up getting the cutest Toy for our dog that's a shape of Idaho holding a cute little potato and a few stickers for our truck. There are a lot of fun stores downtown but this store takes the cake. Mixed Greens is the ultimate go to place for the perfect gift. They literally everything in this store. You can not not come out of this store empty handed. There are just too many goodies here. We came here after brunch today. Coming up to the store, they had a couple racks of beautiful succulents on display. I would have loved to purchase all of them but as simple it is to keeping succulents alive, I have a special talent for killing them. Walking into the store, you are immediately overwhelmed with all the little things everywhere! You don't even know where to being to look at but eventually you'll either go left or right. We made our way through this fun store. Mixed Greens is a big novelty store for adults! The store is filled with everything you can think of. I loved looking at nick nacks. It's loaded with a wide variety of great things for men and women (maybe kids, too, I'm not sure...) for themself or gifts! I got two gifts (bath salts, and a great custom coaster). They have a large variety of nice jewelry, kitchen items, plant stuffs, writing books and pens, fancy paper, all kinds of STUFF. They also have crystals and things - but buyer please beware - many sellers buy from incredibly unethical places (literally a lot of lapis lazuli sold funds the Taliban). Mixed Greens is my go-to spot when I'm looking for a gift and I'm about to out myself to anyone I've given a gift from here for... they do free gift wrapping! I've taken credit for some really beautiful wrapping, they have even tied in a little sprig of greenery for that extra touch. I've gifted a few Idaho stickers, posters, and cards to friends from college who moved away from Boise as a sweet reminder of this amazing state. I have bought a few things for myself here, but the overall vibe is things you wouldn't buy yourself- but you'd be so happy to get as a gift from someone else! A fun place we discovered while wandering about in downtown Boise and looking to score some souvenirs. The sign on the window says "local gifts," but if that's your goal, check the packaging carefully before making a purchase: Most items aren't actually from Idaho; quite a few are from California or Oregon, though quite a bit was also from as far away as Pennsylvania. The prices are a bit high--especially the candles and the greeting cards--but there are some gems that you can find to take home. When I think about this store the words humor and empowerment come to mind first. I found this store to be therapeutic and has something for everyone. I thought about Chanda when I saw the rock and natural stone collection, about Dani with the crude humor greeting cards and wild children books (go the f to sleep!), Yulia with the world travel section, myself in many of the quotes and sayings. There is an adult section with is a little brash (mild for me) and may not be for everyone, but unless you've been living under a rock, this isn't going to offend you. Here you can get stuff to make your life easier, too. I got a cell phone holder for my bike and it wasn't bad pricing either. Want celebrity candles? You can get em here! (Britney Spears, please!). What an awesome shop! While in downtown an associate at another store was chatting with me and told me that I HAD to check out Mixed Greens. I'm so glad I heeded her advice and went! Mixed Greens has an eclectic mix of wares! There is something for everyone here....even stuff for your dog or cat! At first glance it can look a bit like a typical souvenir shop, but once you walk in you quickly realize that this is in no way a typical souvenir shop. NO REFUNDS because the Square system "doesn't really like them". My husband and I were Christmas shopping and assumed with any modern store, you can return items after purchase for a full refund. An hour after purchasing candles, we went to return them with the response that we could only get store credit. There is a sign at the till specifying this but with a store this expensive, there needs to be a verbal reminder that there are NO RETURNS FOR REFUND before you make a purchase. This is a cute little boutique in downtown Boise. They had unique gifts for all things Idaho! I was visiting Boise and was able to load up on stickers necklaces and a bracelet! It was a bit pricey but I understand because one of the items was handmade by a local craftsmen. I love the support local craftsmen like this. The bracelet that I bought Is beautiful and unique! My nephew got several stickers that he loved! Although he is only 11 years old he is the one that told me to come shop here. What a great recommendation from him. I will definitely be back. This place has everything right, the ambiance, the gifts, the wrapping paper, the soap, artwork, jewelry...this is a new storefront for this company and they have filled out this corner space in an awesome way! They keep your eyes wandering constantly and even though I've been in 3 times so far to this location over the past 3 weekends...I'm STILL finding new and interesting things. It's eclectic and fun. They have air plants and just about every container you could possibly want for them. They have "prayer candles" with your favorite celebrities on them (my favorite is the Chris Pratt, woohoo!) but don't let that dissuade you if you think that this is all joke and no content. The shop is smart, it's stylish, it's engaging and it has great products. It feels sophisticated but not stuffy. Possibly my favorite store in Boise--nothing you need and everything you want. They have a well-curated selection, meaning that while things seem a little bit random, everything is quality and you can make an argument for buying. They support local artists, so much of the merchandise is handmade by people in the community. It's great to support both a local business and artists who are just starting out. You also find things unique to Boise and Idaho which is fun. I like to rep our state at every opportunity. The greeting card selection is amazing, with a special wall set aside for NSFW cards that will give you a case of the giggles. They have cards for every temperament and occasion and ones you won't find at Hallmark. Along with a huge stationery selection they offer handmade jewelery, scented bath and body products, women's accessories like hats and scarves, wall art, magnets, a few kids' toys, and a few adult toys. A set of GI Joes doing yoga had me bent over laughing on my last visit. For last minute gifts, they're a great place to find something you'd never expected. The clerks here are very friendly and eager to help. Even when they're busy on the weekends, there's never a line at the register and the clerks will take time to wrap your gifts if you need and answer any questions you have. They know how to walk the line between hovering and smothering customers and offering useful suggestions. I feel like the staff genuinely likes their products and is happy to show off the perfect something you hadn't noticed yet. My hubster added some choice greeting cards to his collection and I restrained myself to just two collections of FABULOUS temporary tattoos made by real tattoo artists.... Came in with my friends a while ago just to look around as we were checking out local stores downtown. I instantly fell in love with this place, the crystals, the mystical items, the decor, and most importantly for me, the air plants and succulents. From that day on I saved up money to go again and actually buy something. So, when me and my friends came again I almost spent too much at one place lol. I bought from their lovely selection of air plants and got a few succulents. The succulents I ended up going with were called lithops, they're these cute weird little plants that have these beautiful colors and unique patterns. I do however have one issue, where's the tarot decks? I only found one, and it wasn't one I wanted. The first time in I saw multiple, yet they just didn't restock or?
