Indoor Air Testing and Asbestos Inspection Services

I found Kevin on a Google search. Even though he is basically on the other side of NJ, he was…read morewilling to come out and do a test of our air as we just got done with having our asbestos removed. He was easy to contact via email, quoted a reasonable price, and we were able to set an appointment the next day. He arrived on time and was very professional throughout. He explained how his test was even more thorough than the abatement's company's test, as his actually would specifically ID asbestos fibers (vs a general fiber test the other company did). You can tell he knows what he is talking about. The test took two hours and I was able to work while Kevin filled out paperwork in his car. He contacted me the next day with the test results, and also sent me a certificate from the lab and his summary showing the air was clean. Note that Kevin only does the air testing (not the removal) and I used him as a second opinion to ensure the air was clean as asbestos is nothing to mess with! I would definitely recommend his company to anyone wanting to test their environment post abatement.

Pillar To Post Home Inspectors - Wes Goble Inspection Team

We purchased the Premium inspection package from Pillar To Post for a home we are buying. My…read morehusband was the customer of record, and I handled much of the follow-up communication on behalf of both of us. We purchased the Premium package specifically for the HomeManual and the repair estimates, and the post-inspection follow-through was extremely disappointing. The inspector, Barry, seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. However, we did not go over his findings the day of the inspection, and despite the Premium package materials stating "Report produced on-site," no report was produced on site. Our inspection was on a Wednesday, Barry told us we would have the report by Friday, and we did not receive it until Monday. When the inspection report was eventually delivered, several Premium package deliverables were missing, incomplete, difficult to access, or inaccurate. We had to repeatedly follow up about measured floor plans, printable maintenance checklists, rodent inspection results, the PTP HomeManual, missing appliance/equipment information, and the repair estimate that was supposed to be included with the package. Some items were eventually addressed, but only after repeated follow-up. The HomeManual was especially frustrating. It initially had only the dishwasher information, listed twice. After multiple emails, appliances were added, but the dishwasher is still listed twice. In addition, for appliances where there are in fact two units, there is no indication which is which. For example, there is a furnace unit on the 2nd floor and another on the 3rd floor, with different models, manufacturers, and model years, but no way from the report to tell which is which. The wall oven information is also inaccurate: it shows two separate wall ovens from different manufacturers, when the property has one LG double wall oven unit. After more than a month of emails, Pillar To Post did finally send the repair estimate PDF, but I never received a meaningful response resolving the remaining HomeManual issues. Home inspection results are supposed to help inform buyers of issues with the home during the contract negotiation process, so timeliness and accuracy matter. The delay in receiving the inspection report, the lack of communication from Pillar To Post, the need to keep checking the portal for updates because we were not notified when updates were made, and the missing or inaccurate Premium package deliverables all added significantly to the stress and anxiety that already come with purchasing a home. It should not be this arduous to get home inspection results, especially when the missing items are part of a paid Premium package. Our closing has been delayed for reasons unrelated to Pillar To Post, so we will need a second inspection before closing. Based on this experience, we will not be using Pillar To Post again.
