My cranky old dog (15) is a bit Extra for other boarding places (stressed out, not eating, rubbed nose raw, doesn't play well with others, etc.!). Lots of separation anxiety. Then we found Hyline!! She was at Hyline for over a week on the first visit and did fine. No raw nose when we picked her up. She had a private "room" and I paid a little extra for one-on-one attention (tuck-in service!! What!!), and a peanut butter-filled Kong once daily. They sent us photos and updates. She even ate while she was there! Second visit was good, too. She didn't even hang back when it came time to leave her, just went along to her kennel. Pretty surprising, for her! The place is clean and well-kept. They do doggie daycare, too. Great facility professional and clean!! Have used Hyline for years and so pleased! We return to happy and tired dogs! Highly recommend

1) Completely failed to give my dog critical medication for 9 days (after its importance was emphasized to them at check in). 2) They took my dog to the ER for normal old dog sounds ("authorized" by my emergency contact who believed them there was an emergency- ER did literally nothing, agreeing my dog was fine and did not need x-rays, etc). 3) Uninvited one dog of mine (one of three) to stay again because she has cancer - after years and many, many thousands of dollars worth of stays she was dumped as a client. Yes, her poo would have chemo drugs in it, but it's frankly not that hard to just pick it up. Plenty of dogs are on meds that are excreted in poop. Their operation is a ridiculous cash grab of low lying fruit (easy dogs) using mostly untrained kids to run it. Zero commitment to long term clients. Glad they fired my sweet old girl as I now have my 3 dogs staying somewhere that is actually run by good people that care. read more

We always put our furry children in their deluxe indoor/outdoor with private patio units so they can roam anytime. They also send pictures every day and the pups always look happy and content. A video camera would be a nice addition to look at our kids anytime but otherwise you can't go wrong with Hyline Hotel for Dogs. read more

I take my pup Handsome Jack here for Daycare weekly and he absolutely LOVES it!! They workers there are AMAZING and treat your animals with love and care!!! Katie is awesome. My cat always comes back beautiful. It is a bit expensive for a cat but since he comes back so soft and shaved so perfectly we are willing to spend it occasionally. If it was cheaper I would do it more often like if it was even half the price I would bring him monthly instead of only 2 times a year. read more

I took my dog there to be groomed and she shaved my dogs nose raw . The groomer was rude about it and said that it wasn't like that when I picked her up ... insinuating I did it on the way home . I never even received an apology. Hyline is the only kennel we'll board at. We have a fearful, anxious, dog reactive rescue (due to being kicked and hit, then sitting in an overcrowded shelter for 18mo), that we board here. We try to use an in-home sitter as much as possible, but when they are not available, we will only use Hyline because of their reliability and boarding upgrades. We always get the more private space which not everyone offers, will add the enrichment upgrades, which again, most other kennels dont offer. They are also very reliable for medications. read more

So grateful for the meticulous, caring folks at Hyline who truly treat our pup as if he were their own. He is always excited to be there, and clearly is comfortable and safe with his caretakers. My dog does super-well at Hyline, yes it is a kennel. She goes to daycare, for socialization and exposure to other dogs and people. The staff recognizes this and helps her along. Given that, there are times she spends in a kennel space. If you have a sensitive dog, it might not be the right environment. Know your dog and what they can handle, and pick your daycare accordingly. Hyline is great for my tough little mix, but I wouldn't send a more sensitive dog that wants a more cozy and individual oriented environment. read more

We love Hyline. The Shuttle is so great when we need it. The staff is wonderful and easy going. I have nothing but good things to say about Hyline. Recently, we had to rehome one of our dogs, and I reached out to Hyline to provide a "Letter of Reference" describing out pup's demeanor during her daycares and overnights at Hyline. They went above and beyond! It was such a sweet and honest appraisal of our beloved pup, M. And it was clear that much thought and reflection went in to crafting it. I used it in my communication with prospective new owners, and I think it helped people decide whether or not M. was the dog for them. Excellent care. Online system is pretty good but a little tricky to find from initial log on. Charges extra for services you'd think might be ordinary--eg daily walk, cuddling, snack. Very disciplined about vaccination, health records, health. Texting pictures a couple of times a day is a very nice service. read more

I recently took my dog here for five days after a friend recommended it and I saw all the raving reviews for it. It was my dog's first time staying at a boarding facility since we adopted her, but she had been in a local shelter so she is no stranger to kennels. She has a history of "happy tail" - she wags her tail super hard, so the skin breaks when she hits it hard against a cement kennel. When that happens, she bites at it and it gets worse the more she bites. We got her the deluxe boarding. When we dropped her off, it seemed really rushed like they wanted us to just get in and get out. I told them about the "happy tail" stuff, gave them some medicine in case she hurt her tail, her cone so she couldn't bite it if she did hit it, and her slow-feeder bowl. After they rushed us out I felt uncomfortable and decided to go back in and ask if I could see her kennel. The girl quickly took me back to the deluxe kennels and showed me an empty kennel that was significantly smaller than all the other ones back there and said that's where she'd be. I didn't even get to say bye to my pup! I checked their Facebook photos while I was on vacation in hopes of a glimpse of her happy and playing. There were a few, but I noticed none of them showed her tail... huh. We picked her up and, alas, her tail was bloody and raw... obviously chewed on. None of the meds we gave them were used and I suspect her cone wasn't used either. We had a nice and expensive vet visit after that. They also forgot to give us one of her toys and her slow-feeder when we picked her up. We just went back to pick up her slow-feeder (they lost the toy) and all the grippy parts on the bottom were chewed off. It's obvious that they don't watch the dogs as closely as they should (especially for $30 a night). If this is the best in Bellingham, I'm pretty sure I'll never board my pup again. Disappointed! I love Hyline. I've boarded dogs (greyhounds) there in the past & they've always been wonderful. I now use their doggy daycare for my newly adopted senior pug, Earl and it's totally amazing!! He loves it and the bus service is super convenient. I've also been very pleased with their grooming services too. Great place! read more

I can't begin to say how wonderful this place is. My dogs - the same dogs I used to have to carry into the groomers (and they weigh 65 pounds each) - love staying at Hyline. They are as happy to rush in and greet their people and dog friends as they are to see me when I pick them up, which is really, really, really happy. I've never had them trimmed there, but they routinely get bathed and brushed as part of their stay and they like that too. We signed up for an agility class after Kathi the owner of the kennels did a private one-on-one to assess my dog. Within her small amount of time he did great (was running through tunnels, jumping etc.) and I felt comfortable enrolling him in their class even without doing any obedience classes first. Kathi should be called the dog whisperer, she's just great. Unfortunately the class was not taught by her but by another woman who was very nice but did not seem to have the same patience. teaching experience or capabilities. Overall I would take another class there- IF Kathi was the instructor. The facility is extremely well kept. The course was set up inside, to keep us dry from the rain. And although I have not yet boarded my dog, I would consider boarding him at Hyline. read more

We tried Hyline after a bad experience at another boarding facility. I loved that their first visit is free. We've continued to bring our Lab here and he seems to do really well. The staff is always friendly and often comments on who our puppy played with, etc. I love having a place like this when we are out of town or need somewhere to send our puppy to for the day. read more

I took my puppy for a nail trim and the groomer did not even greet me or my dog. It was like an assembly line of care. My puppy being, a puppy was nervous and the groomer did not even try to make my puppy feel safe. Because I was not allowed in the assistant had to go in and try and calm my puppy. Worst nail experience ever. I will never go back. read more
