UPDATE 9/16: I have to reduce my review two stars after the recent events have transpired. After our project was complete, we had to repeatedly ask Tim almost daily for the number of his painter. Once we received it weeks later, we scheduled and had his painter come out. His painter completely trashed our new fence, new concrete, new grass, and existing exterior cinderblock walls. Not only that, but he was extremely confrontational, argumentative, and threatening (by blocking us in the driveway when I attempted to leave to take my daughter to school). We later found out this painter was NOT licensed or bonded. I then found out he is not even a registered business within the county or the state of California. We just spent $15,000 on a remodel only to have it trashed by one of his recommended contractors. It's now going to cost us an additional 500-800 to bleach our concrete to remove the overspray. Not to mention the damage done to an antique fiberglass umbrella set - that will have to be completely repainted. This contractor did absolutely nothing for prep. And unfortunately, he is directly associated with Hyper now because of his use and recommendations. I'd advise asking all subcontractors for proof of license, insurance, and proof of existing work. Do NOT use Jose from Stucco Solution. Ultimately, I went from being ecstatic to show off the work, to upset every time I step foot out into my backyard. $15,000 down the drain due to a complacent recommendation. To add, we unfortunately, have to dig up some of our sod, as Tim stated he didn't get all of the poured concrete up.. and remove the leftover concrete... that was apparently causing our new sod to die in areas. All in all, I really should've waited to make my first initial review. Update 1/8/2020: our fence is completely failing and despite the year warranty that Tim has offered, it's literally being ignored. read more

Tim, the owner of Hyper Construction, is a very nice guy. His quality of work and completion time management are not very nice. Tim did work in backyard and most of it was done incorrectly. The work was supposed to take approximately 1 month. We are now in month 10 and the project still is not finished. We have had to hire different contractors to fix multiple errors. Work to be completed included; dirt work, concrete slab/steps, 20x30 patio cover, sprinkler installation. Tim installed 4 sprinkler valves and ran the pipes for the sprinklers. I provided sprinkler wire for the timer. The sprinkler wire was long enough but was not put in the proper trench as planned causing the wire to be to short. I had to purchase additional wire and add a junction box to get the wire to work. Tim left the sprinkler trenches open for weeks. I ended up filling the trenches myself because they never got filled. The concrete work included 2 slabs, mow curb, and steps. Most of the concrete work is decent. The steps have multiple, large cracks. The cracked sections have chips coming off the cracks now. Tim acknowledged the cracking and said the wrong concrete mixture was used and he will fix it. The concrete was never fixed and I am now having another contractor complete the work. The patio cover. The patio cover was initially bid to be a duralum aluminum patio cover. The cover was bid to have insulated roof panels, electrical ran for ceiling fans and lights, corbel cut decorative ends. Months went by and no cover. Tim told me there was delay in material so he ordered the same cover from alumawood. 7 months after installation was supposed to start it finally starts. When the cover was complete it turned out it was nothing what I ordered. I was a significantly cheaper cover and installed very poorly. The cover is freestanding. I asked Tim before the concrete was poured if the structure needs concrete footings in place. His response was he will red head it into the slab and it will be good. I wasn't going to second guess his work as he is supposed to be proficient in the trade. After install I find the patio to be extremely unstable and wobbly. There is no shear strength. Upright posts were bolted to the concrete. Tim's crew didn't even make sure the posts were touching the ground. Most of the posts are barely touching the ground and they used bolt washers to shim the posts to the ground. There are holes drilled into the concrete that are not being used. They initially installed some posts in incorrect spots and moved them leaving multiple unfilled holes in the new concrete slab. This is incorrect and laziness. The patio was not installed with insulated roof panels as what was bid and purchased it was instead installed with uninsulated thin aluminum panels. The roof panels have holes in them that leak water from installation mistakes where they drilled in the wrong spot. The cover has a rain gutter but it does not function as intended. The rain gutter was installed improperly and water dumped from the ceiling rather than going down the rain gutter. There was no electrical for ran for fans or lights. The corbel cut decorative ends that were in the bid and paid for never were installed. Instead the ends were cut and capped and the cover just looks like a carport not a decorative patio cover. There are sections that are intended to be built with a one piece beam but for some reason multiple beams were used and it looks terrible. I would assume this is because the one piece beam was not ordered or it was damaged by the crew and unusable. The sections of material that were cut were not cut cleanly. They were sloppily cut with most likely a sawzall style saw. The cuts are not clean and look terrible. I contacted alumawood regarding the footings and attaching the posts with bolts only. Alumawood told me in summary that freestanding covers all need footings and cannot be bolted to the slab. They told me when they sell all there covers they come with plans for building. I would assume Tim did not follow the plans choosing the bolt option which is faster. There was always trash in the backyard that I had to clean up every time the crews left. I have attached some photos to see the poor quality of work. We have lost a lot of money by choosing hyper construction. Tim continued to say he would make the errors correct but never followed through. Multiple things were completed incorrectly, poorly and outside of what the bid was for. Tim continually said he will fix the issues but they never get resolved. At this point we are having other contractors fix the work increasing the cost of the project. Again Tim is a very nice guy but I would not recommend his company to anyone for construction work. The work seemed rushed, disorganized, not reliable time frames, not properly completed. Tim seems to bid higher quality products, collects money and then installed a lower quality cheaper option. read more

I DO NOT RECOMEND this contractor. Last June Tim Gooden of Hyper Construction replaced a driveway at my house in Temecula. Shortly after the pour it began to crack. Not just surface cracks but cracks through the entire slab. I notified him and he came to take a look. He promised to repair the driveway. Now 7 months later and after multiple delays and no shows he ignores my text and calls completely. I highly recommend not using Hyper Construction. read more

I got an estimate, which was quite reasonable, from Hyoer Construction to build a long, short (2') wall with some rocks installed in it, plus do irrigation. First they delayed the project by 2 weeks, saying they had to finish another job & wanted to put 100% into our job, once started. That sounded good & we weren't in a hurry. They sent in a sub-contracted group to do the wall & they were doing a super job, although they did not show up a few days. Then, when the basic wall was done & the "artwork" that I wanted was ready to install, they walked out & left me hanging. Evidently there was a dispute over payment & the sub has told me they weren't being paid in a timely manner. During the time the sub was building the wall, Hyper did NOT support them with the materials needed or a receptacle for dirt, which there was a lot of. Time was no where to be found, nor did we ever meet him, as he now lives in Tennessee! Instead, his mother came in to manage the job & did a poor job of it, as she is busy with personal things. She also seems to mainly use her children as laborers, many of which aren't trained in anything. So the job got botched completely once the sub walked off. My husband wanted a lien release from the sub and after many delays, the mother gave him one, which we found out a day later was FORGED. They seemed to be hurting for money throughout the entire project, with no trucks available (getting repaired) to support dirt removal. One of the kids came in to finish putting the rocks in the wall and totally screwed that up by using epoxy, which made a mess, and then covering the epoxy with white paint, which didn't match the stucco. I have been the main person managing this fiasco. I would definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone and really wish I'd read these reviews before hiring them. The sub returned for a touch up and it was then that I learned about these reviews & the fact that the lien was forged, as they'd never seen the document before. The job started out well & ended badly. My hopes for a special wall have been dashed. All of the people were quite nice and they respected our property, so no problems there. If the sub had completed their part of the job, I would have had what I wanted. It was only once they walked & Hyper Construction attempted to finish the job with their "kids" that brought great frustration and disappointment. read more

I'll start off by saying I didn't hire this company,however our neighbors did to do some construction which involved rebuilding a fence on our property line. At no point did this contractor speak with myself or anyone at my home. During the project the workers repeatedly came onto my property without asking and left trash and demolition material in our yard and decided my backyard was their lunch room. During the project they removed an established tree that was on my property, that was apparently right where they had to put a fence support. I spoke with the owner who denied it, then claimed that the root ball was on my neighbor's land, then offered to replace the tree. Guess what no tree was ever provided. I'm a reasonable person, and if this company would have shown some professionalism by asking a homeowner if they can come onto their property, or not leaving their trash on my property, or doing what they agreed to, I'd probably be asking them to bid on work for my house. But now seeing how they do business, I won't be doing business with them anytime soon. read more

If you want somebody that is completely unreliable, this is your man, Tim Gooden. Makes a good first impression, but it's all downhill from there. I only wish I had read the prior reviews prior to contracting with him, because he did exactly the same thing to us. Makes promises and does not follow through. I accepted his approx. 15K bid without even negotiating. From that point on, he would fail to show up as promised and then would ignore voicemails and texts asking him when he would be showing up. Just got a full backyard remodel, Artificial turf, retaining walls, vinyl fencing, drains, and stamped concrete. They also added this beautiful Boulder in the middle of the turf, making it look more natural. Very professional, always on time, hard workers, reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor, stay away from Hyper Construction they are absolutely terrible. I requested a concrete bid from Tim Goodman. His customer service skills and dependability are unacceptable. I ended up selecting different cement contractor that was responsible, reliable and was less expensive. I also called the manager at the Rock & Block company in El-Cajon, that referred me to Hyper Construction and let them know what a horrible experience I had with Hyper Construction. Tim was recommended to us by a friend. We needed a gate built and a retaining wall and pavers installed on the side of our driveway. Tim arrived and gave us a quote that was excellent. We hired him immediately after having already had four other quotes that were much higher than his.
