I tried a few other crossfit gyms before finding Hyperformance a few months ago, and there is no comparison. The community is the most welcoming you will ever find, and all the coaches are super knowledgeable and dedicated to constant improvement and edcuation to remain on the cutting edge. Fof those who haven't tried Crossfit before, they offer a 1 on 1 intro session with a coach, where you get a lot of good instruction in the basic movements, and you do a baseline workout. After that, you can come for free to any regularly scheduled workout so you can see what it's like day to day. It's easy to be intimidated by the workouts, but that passes almost immediately. Everyone is super encouraging, and the coaches are amazing at scaling things so you can be challenged in a safe way that gets you the quickest results. The owners/coaches at Hyperformance have clearly spent a lot of time and energy focusing on every detail to produce the highest quality product possible. It shows in everything they do - special skill clinics every week, fun challenges that will span several weeks and often include pretty substantial prizes, and even sending out a 'high five' postcard when you hit new record on one of your lifts. CrossFit Hyperformane is AWESOME! I heard many things about CrossFit. Much of it was true and an equal amount was myth. What I did find true was that the box (CrossFit gym) you go to does determine how much a person will want to go back. My first time going was at CrossFit Hyperformance on 70th Street near Frederick in the medial arts are of Savannah. I did not know a single person when I showed up (athough I did know people that went to this box). Everyone that was there welcomed me as if I was an old friend they had not seen in a long time. The coaches were very interested in my past and what my athletic history looked like and where I was today. When I show up for the WOD (workout of the day) they are very interactive and make sure I perform the movement properly. Additionally, many of the other "advanced" guys and girls also are very helpful and genuinely enjoy helping. I will be approaching one year in Feb. 2014. It is amazing to look back af my first weeks and see how far I have progressed. I also competed in my first solo competition this year and it was a blast! I did crossfit in upstate New York for 3 years, and when I first moved to Savannah my partner and I were a bit nervous about finding a new gym. There were 3 different crossfit gyms to choose from and we ended up going with Crossfit Hyperformance... and well, here we are 2 years later, still going :-) The community is fun, friendly and welcoming, and the coaches are knowledgable and willing to work with you individually to adjust workouts for injuries or other factors. The owners (who both coach as well) are always looking for ways to make the gym the best it can be, whether it's having fitness and nutrition challenges, hosting competitions, getting new equipment, or simply re-arranging existing equipment to create a better space for the athletes. It's not CrossFit unless it's CrossFit Hyperformance. All others are second best at best. Hyperformance has the best coaches, the best box, the best workouts, the best community, the best - I can go on and on. I have been a member for two years after floundering about in the gym world. CrossFit Hyperformance and I clicked immediately. Over these two years, I have lost 45 pounds and KEPT THEM OFF, I have become stronger, more flexible, and healthier than I have been in decades. And I may be one of the oldest members at CFHP. And made to feel very much at home. I really don't mind working out with younger people so it works out just fine. Crossfit in Savannah started here with Crossfit Hyperformance. It's more than just a gym, it's a community. The people here are genuinely interested in making you an all around better person. Not just fitness and training but diet, attitude and overall lifestyle. And it doesn't come from just the owners and coaches. All of the Hyperformance athletes are tightly connected.
