Anyway, I'm happy it's filled. It's next to the Canada Computers. Same plaza as Dollarama and Mission Thrift Store (formerly called Bibles for Missions). This location is huge. The aisles are really wide, which I love, but it almost makes the space look too sparse, this is not a complaint though, just an observation. I like it because even if it's busy, it doesn't feel crowded. It's also easier for people in wheelchairs or scooters to get around. Selection is good, but prices are on the higher side, even for health food stores. Although I'd say comparable to Kardish, but more expensive than Healthy Planet. They have fresh breads, fresh produce, frozen foods, refrigerated foods, shelf stable foods, health and beauty products, as well as supplements. Service is friendly. Since they had just opened for 3 days when I visited they did not have any clearance items. Hopefully as time goes on they will, because we all know I love the clearance section of stores, lol. I came here on the hunt for some vegan meats that I can't find in other stores and they had a HUGE variety. I came here specifically to check out the line from Heura plant based meats, which was developed in Barcelona and finally made its way to Canada. They had the "chicken" chunks and "burgers," and I went with the burgers. They also carried the full product line from Gusta meats, and The Very Good Butchers. They also have prepared foods from Pure Kitchen which I was also excited to check out, but there wasn't much to choose from the day I went (weekend), and what was left was on reduced price, so I got the impression it was not as fresh. Their prepared food section overall was lacking, but again, as mentioned, I went on the weekend, so maybe during the week it is fully stocked. They do have some cool products that I cannot get elsewhere close by, so I was excited to pick up a jar of Bubbies pickles and some tortillas and honey. I did find some products to be more on the pricier side, so know your prices going in. Aisles were wide, but the store also felt bare. Customer service was friendly and we were greeted upon entering the store.

Booster Juice originally just sold juices and smoothies, but later added sandwiches, and energy bars and protein balls. It is a Canadian company, that is similar to Jamba Juice in the USA. It's also comparable to Jugo Juice here in Canada. Prices for regular smoothies range from $4.55-$7.55. They have snack sizes too, but they are really small and not much cheaper than the regular size. This location is great. Staff are friendly and efficient.

I got 3 big 900g tubs to share with my brother and dad, who are long-time kimchi lovers. I was late to the party and only recently got into fermented foods, more for the health benefits, but the taste of kimchi is growing on me. I got the Original Baechoo Kimchi ($12.99), the Vegan Baechoo Kimchi ($13.99) and the Baek Kimchi ($12.99). The original is the usual kimchi. It was mildly spicy, a bit salty and had a good crunch to it. The vegan one is similar to the original one except it doesn't have any anchovy paste in it and has more "vegetable umami." I found the vegan one saltier and I liked it less. I was hoping that the vegan one would be less salty, but it was actually more salty, at least to my tastebuds :( The Baek Kimchi is like the original one but with zero spiciness. I got this to try and also to see if my little nieces would like it. They love pickles and olives, so I figured they might like non-spicy kimchi, which I think would be healthier than pickles and olives. (They refused to try it, but that is more a reflection of them being kids, than anything about the kimchi, lol). Dr. Yoon Kimchi tastes better than commercial mass- produced kimchi for sure. I purchased online on the website and got free local delivery since my order was over $30. Orders under $30 are subject to a $5 delivery fee, or you can pick up for free (not sure of the location but it's in Ottawa). Her products are also available at Win Tai Grocery. They used to be available at Kowloon Grocery, but not sure if they still are. Dr. Yoon delivered my kimchi herself. She is super nice and courteous. She gave me tips like the importance of not contaminating the container (always use clean utensils to get the kimchi and not to put removed leftover kimchi back into the original container). Also as you go through the container to push down the remaining contents so it is all submerged in the liquid. If you like kimchi and live in the NCR, I would definitely recommend Dr. Yoon Kimchi.
