Our 3 night stay went well. Checked in Thursday night about 4 pm. Our room had a city view and was pretty comfortable, with minimal decor. The bathroom has separate shower and toilet areas with 1 door to provide privacy for either. Not seen this before. The beds were comfortable enough and the a/c worked well. It was a bit humid during our July stay so that was much appreciated. The in room coffee maker was also very handy and convenient!
We loved the free minibar fridge (yes, free) stocked daily (beer, orange soda, mineral water, apple juice) and also free peanuts. The elevator was pretty small, I was a little surprised.
Bar 11 (rooftop bar at the hotel) was very convenient for a first night in Hamburg drink. They serve free bar snacks (that peanut/sesame stick mix) too. Prices were very reasonable (about 6 euros for a beer). They had a number of cocktails on the menu too, but first drink in Germany has to be beer! The hotel was walking distance to the central train station, which was why we picked this one. At about $200 per night, not a bad option. read more
