It would be good if you just needed a sports drink or similar.

They also have a wide range of classes, including the standard ones like 'pump' and 'spin', but unfortunately not yoga. My only issue with the Ascot Vale Sports & Fitness Centre is hygene-related (which is something that I'm quite finicky about). The men's change room really stink by the end of the day. Also, the pool facilities are noticeably dirtier by the end of the day, than they are at the start (so make sure you wear thongs).

The caring happy environment created by Lily and her wonderful group of teachers is inspiring and exactly the right formula for our little ones to feel valued and encouraged. They instill confidence, excellent dance technique, concentration skills and most importanly, enjoyment into their students. Lily and her team of staff offer not only great choice of music, but beautiful costumes and dance moves in preparation for the end of year concert. It is so refreshing to know that our girls are treated with such respect and not expected to 'grow up' before their years, as is so often the case in today's society. We appreciate this greatly.

Like huge…read more It feels like you could be far away from the world, but then you can get a glimpse of nearby houses and a small view of the Doncaster mall sitting up on a hill. It really is nice for a daytime, the sun is out so you should be outside type of day. It's good for a walk around their many paths, or for a picnic on one of their many open hilly spaces. If I was a dog, this would be optimum day out stuff. Because at Ruffey Lake Park, there are dogs galore, on leashes, on the footpath, running around, soaking up some sun rays, taking a dip into the lake, this park is their oyster. The lake itself, is average size, it's nothing to exclaim over, or take in. For seating, if you didn't take a blanket with you and are one of those don't-like-grass people, then find yourself one of the many benches that are laid out throughout the park. For the kiddies, there are two playgrounds with swings and activities, I feel like whenever I've been here, that area is hands down the most populated part of the park. For all of your park needs, Ruffey Lake is a stand out.

The council is apparently desperate to develop (read: sell off) the site, yet there is a community resistance that seems to be winning out so far... What is great about Coburg Pool is the wide open space. There are three pools, including a diving pool that's only open for an hour each afternoon, and plenty of grassy and concreted, covered and outdoor spaces for your lounging enjoyment. You can see why the council wants this space back, it's prime real estate in the heart of Coburg and the property market there is rapidly catching up to Brunswick. Given it's not heated (and half the reason hardly anyone goes there), the pool is only open 1 December to 31 March and only when the air temp is above 23 degrees. You've gotta check it out and support this old girl, however, as it will be sorely missed when gone.

I like to think of myself as pretty fit but this class really kicked me on my butt. F45 Functional Fitness was born in Australia by a couple of footy players with a pretty good idea. At it's base, it is simple circuit training - you work really hard for a few minutes and then rest for a minute to catch your breath - for a round total of 45 minutes. I did a 'Romans' class, which focuses more on strength (think tricep dips, weighted squats and suspended pushups), while the 'Athletica' class is more cardio-based. On Saturdays they do 'Hollywood' which is a mixture of both PLUS a DJ! Party workout! What makes F45 different to other workouts is the team-focus and technology used. There are multiple plasma screens on the gym walls, showing a countdown timer and a video of someone doing the exercise you are to follow. There are groups of 4-5, with each group doing a different exercise and eventually you rotate. I was given a partner and placed in to a group and we genuinely all bonded by the end! The instructors seemed young and a little nervous (this particular F45 only just opened, so I suspect they are still finding their feet) however I felt fully supported and motivated throughout the class. They help you with your technique and throw out a helluva lot of high fives when you're on your one minute break. If you're looking to make a real difference to your bod AND your fitness, you really need to give F45 a go. Grab a pal and get along.

I like the gym and the treadmills with preva that monitors your exercise progress and you can watch TV or surf the internet during a workout. The gym is always clean and pleasant. I enjoy the Pilates, body balance and yoga classes. Maybe also give Rez fit a go. I can also go to the pool and pop in the spa and steam room before or after. Only downer, ladies change room in aquatic section. The hot water cuts out and the water flow significantly decreases during peak hour shower usage. But I suppose you get that at most pool bathrooms and it's very difficult to address. But no big deal I just use the ladies gym shower and change. But overall I'm glad to have the gym and aquatic membership and enjoy being a member.

Although the steamroom needs a little maintenance...the paints starting to peel off on the walls, it still provides a great steam and is very relaxing! The prices are affordable for casual visits and hopefully they will provide good prices for memberships but pretty sure you need to talk to one of the helpful staff to arrange it and find out prices. The gym area looks new and clean and I look forward to using all the new equipment. You can hire a locker for $2 for 2 hours although the first attempt of hiring out a locker it ate my $2 coin and it didnt let me hire the locker but second time round I was succesful! You can pick up a brochure with all of the fitness classes and price lists at the front desk and also find them on the website which is very easy to use!
