The hotel can offer discount cards BUT the receptionist in our case said "We have discount cards for the parking. Oh wait. We're out at the moment." I would have rather not known about the parking discount cards then knowing they exist but see not available for us. If you're traveling by train / bus, this hotel is not very close to the stop. You'll have to walk a little bit. So if you have a lot of luggage or kids or you're disabled - take an uber / taxi.

The reason why I chose to stay here versus in central Amsterdam was price. It was significantly cheaper per night to stay outside the city of Amsterdam - near Schiphol international airport than in the thick of everything. I think it was about €80 per night, here at the hotel de Beurs, versus other comparable properties in Amsterdam for €159 per night on average. And so, I decided to stay here. Plus with the Sprinter train making a stop at Hoofddorp station to Amsterdam Zuid train station and Schiphol airport, it was a done deal. It was nice to be in Hoofddorp really. The suburban side of Amsterdam and I enjoyed that aspect of the experience. Hotel de Beurs is about a 5 minute train ride to Amsterdam central @ Zuid train station, but you'll need to take the public bus (#140 or #145) for a few stops to and from the train station. For what it was worth, my stay at the Hotel de Beurs almost was like a condo apartment. It did not feel like a standard hotel room, like you know of in the USA, but it was a little different for me. The ambiance was nice and quiet. For all the right reasons, this property is good for the money and comfort. The Hotel de Beurs is located at Kruisweig 170 in Hoofddorp. You would get off at Marketplein, if commuting by public transit. There isn't a lot of dining options here in Hoofddorp, so be aware of this fact. Not sure about guest parking at the hotel, but I'm willing to bet there's something. The hotel accepts major credit cards, so that's always a plus. The hotel has its own restaurant in the lobby area, but I didn't dine here during my 3 night stay. This is a 2 star property at best, but a definite 4 stars in my book. While it didn't mirror what I thought was a standard hotel room (in the USA), I am reminded that I wasn't in the USA anymore. In fact, I was more at home than I realized as that was good for me! The check in and out process was fast and expedient. The service I received was quite good and that made me feel like it was euros well spent here at this property. The room itself was small, but the bathroom / shower was unusually large. I particularly enjoyed this stay, since the bed itself was pretty comfortable. So soft that it was almost ideally heavenly! I was given room# 610, near the elevator on the 6th floor. The unit was clean and beds were made everyday. Everything worked properly and I had to find channels in English and subtitled in Dutch to get some form of normalcy on vacation. The wifi worked really well in the room. The property seemed to be quite elegant for what it is, but as with all properties, it commands comfort as well as luxury at an affordable price. My stay at the Hotel de Beurs was that and more. The toilet sign made me question what country I was in... Under a guise of saving the environment they cut service and amenities: No bottled water. No daily room service. No washcloths or bath matt. I…read morehave stayed at seven or eight different hotels now in the Schipol vicinity and this one ranks in good standing. I have stayed here three times now. The positives start with location. There is a shuttle available, which takes just a few minutes to get from the airport to the facility. However, the train station is a 15-minute walk. With a five-minute train ride and five or ten minutes between trains, this is my preferred means of getting to the hotel barring horrible weather. I also like the fact that village-centre Hoofddorp is an easy 15-minute walk down Kruiseweg. There are many good restaurants and other commercial opportunities there. The lobby for this hotel is actually quite lovely, with vertical spaciousness and an interesting staircase. They had it nicely decorated for Christmas on my last visit. The check-in and check-out experiences have always been easy and without complications. The staff are generally easily engaged and pleasant. I have always found the rooms here to be spacious, particularly by European standards, and quite comfortable. The work areas are serviceable and the bathrooms are maneuverable. My bed has always been comfortable here and the surroundings quiet, such that I have able to sleep well. The WiFi has been functional with no problems that I can ever recall. The entertainment system offers a variety of choices, with many in English. They have an executive lounge on the top level (5F) with a room-wide window that facilitates a lovely view of the surrounding area. There is a happy hour that could be used for a (very) light dinner if you wish and the drink offerings are complete. The lounge is moderate-sized but I have never found it to be overcrowded. The room rates here will vary significantly. I have paid up to a €110 or so and have passed on this hotel at times when it has been significantly higher. This last stay was only €76, which was an incredibly good bargain. There are a couple of negatives about this hotel. One is the fact that the shuttle runs with less frequency than I'd like. But since there is an alternative with the train, it is not debilitating. The biggest issue for me is the breakfast. I have a long-running criticism of IHG because they offer Spire members no perks of this sort at their premium hotels (or they are inconsistent). As a Hilton Diamond member and Marriott Platinum member, breakfast is free for me at their premium brands. Not so with IHG, even if I do stay 50 nights per year at their facilities. This makes a difference in my choice of places to book, especially when breakfast is €22 as it is here (even if I had pre-booked the appropriate rate). Overall, this hotel is actually a rather good choice if you need a place near Schipol the night before a flight, or the day of arrival. The facility is good, the location works well and the rooms are very serviceable. The rates are good, even though the breakfast is a bit expensive. This place is worth considering if you need a hotel in the area.
