Churchill reminds me of Mr. Belvedere. It's aged, creaky and old fashioned English. Truth is it's a perfectly acceptable base of operations to see all the D-Day sites and Bayeux Tapestry (don't forget the Tapestry!) but I think it's a little past its prime. I suppose some would say that adds to the character of the place, but you go to Bayeux to see what the world remembers about Normandy, not to spend time admiring your hotel. I particularly liked the part where our room's window was right above the smoker's patio and how it was impossible to close the closest door to get into bed if there was anything in it. Compared to all the other places we stayed in France, I can't say it left a lasting impression one way or the other so 3 stars. Free wifi - No 110 volt - Yes Hard bed - Yes Room safe - Yes

Well, since I could not get Starwood points in Bayeux, this was a perfectly acceptable if offbeat alternative to my usual lodging choices. It is old but clean and somewhat charming. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom new and spotless, with - get this - an American style stall shower with a full sliding door. No shower flood in this French bathroom! The front desk staff day and night was friendly, accommodating and totally fluent in English. My only real disappointment was breakfast. It was OK, but nothing was memorable about it (OK, the room was bright and cheerful). Free wifi is available in the breakfast room, but it worked reasonably well in my second floor room, as well. It is a short walk from the Tapestry Museum, is right off the main street and is close to where the D-Day tours pick you up in the morning, If I were to come back to Bayeux, would have no qualms about returning to the Churchill.

The location was perfect, and the room looked better than the pictures. However, the WiFi was slow, though it was free.

Wished I had booked two nights as returning to add a night online a bit later revealed they were fully booked. The hotel is lovely in its decor and design. The room was generously sized and lovely. Reception staff was welcoming and pleasant. A purchased coffee and muffin were a quick takeaway breakfast and both were delicious. Overall an excellent value considering the service, setting, and accommodations.

They got to know us in just a couple days and made every restaurant reservation for us. Just off the lobby is a small bar that is well stocked and managed by the front desk. Seating there is comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and excellent. As for the rooms ... we could not believe how spacious, comfortable, quiet and pleasant in terms of temperature they were. The beds were also excellent and the bathrooms spacious. We were totally blown away by the quality. To top it all off, the location is perfect. Just a few blocks from the city center, and as a result many restaurants. We never had to walk more than 10 minutes any evening for our dinner reservations. And, even the Bayeux Tapestry is just a few minute walk. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about his hotel in any way. If you are visiting Bayeux, stay here.

Everyone had a place to stay, hang out, or get some space. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - making us feel at home. Their morning breakfast was top notch. This is a place that reminds you the history that permeates France with buildings that are hundreds of years old (but don't look shabby) and a friendly atmosphere. If you are planning on exploring Normandie you can base out of here and be within 1-2 hours of everything.

Much of Bayeux was walkable from here, and driving to the American and British beaches was very manageable. You can see the entrance to the museum with the Bayeux Tapestry from their front door. Restaurants we planned to taxi to were walkable. The facility is a several century old mansion, totally renovated by the architect owner who has done everything first class. Our room was huge, everything was new, and everything worked. The staff was outstanding in their efforts to accommodate a couple Americans. Breakfast equaled the facility - in a formal dining room setting and with an extensive selection. I would recommend Hotel Tardif Noble Guesthouse to anyone, whether they're five star hotel people or campers.

We loved another day spent exploring the wonderful historical town of Bayeaux and its beautiful Cathedrel Notre Dame. We stayed in a spacious, modern, and comfortable room in the building that was once most likely a carriage house. A stream was right outside our door, and lovely flowers and trees dotted the property. We had an outdoor seating area in the back overlooking the tennis courts, and there was seating in spots around the property. Dinner was served in the main cheateu and was one of the best meals we ate in all of France. The desserts were like works of art and tasted absolutely amazing. Meals are charged to the room and paid for at check out which is so convenient. Service was fantastic and accomodating, and staff cheerfully arranged a taxi service for us a few times. I don't feel any items are home made and very limited selection. Given there are so many restaurants in Bayeux with much lower price. You don't miss anything. The Chateau location is great, center to everything. We had great time in their spacious duplex. This is relaxing experience.
