    King room 103

A beautifully appointed Building dripping with French charm and sophistication. We stayed for 4 nights while visiting Normandy in late April. Our room on the first floor had a view to the magnificent cathedral and was furnished with tasteful French flourishes. The bathroom was nice sized and fairly updated with a separate tub and rain shower and our king bed was comfortable as were the pillows. But as nice as the hotel and hotel bar were, the first impression was of the amazing caring staff. Quentin -the all-purpose player not only helped with luggage and the car but served us drinks before dinner in the bar and even mixed up a batch of savory olives with special sauce that were provided with bar snacks. He was so personable and friendly that you couldn't help but feel right at home. Kim at the front desk was also a standout in the way she efficiently welcomed us and provided directions and help with dining reservations throughout the stay. We felt well taken care of and enjoyed the four night stay in our spacious room with big windows looking out to the cathedral that we could open up wide while basking in the afternoon sun. Breakfast was great (23€/day each -not included in room rate) but again the cheery English speaking staff got you hot drinks and freshly made eggs to supplement the lavish spread of meat, cheese, bread and fruit. They kept table tidy and things moved right along. This place is popular with Americans with virtually all the guests in their 60's and up. It's a pricey place so I guess that's to be expected. Highly recommended

Everyone had a place to stay, hang out, or get some space. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - making us feel at home. Their morning breakfast was top notch. The chapel, restaurants, cafe's, and sights are all within walking distance. This is a place that reminds you the history that permeates France with buildings that are hundreds of years old (but don't look shabby) and a friendly atmosphere. If you are planning on exploring Normandie you can base out of here and be within 1-2 hours of everything.

Much of Bayeux was walkable from here, and driving to the American and British beaches was very manageable. You can see the entrance to the museum with the Bayeux Tapestry from their front door. Restaurants we planned to taxi to were walkable. The facility is a several century old mansion, totally renovated by the architect owner who has done everything first class. Our room was huge, everything was new, and everything worked. The staff was outstanding in their efforts to accommodate a couple Americans. Breakfast equaled the facility - in a formal dining room setting and with an extensive selection. I would recommend Hotel Tardif Noble Guesthouse to anyone, whether they're five star hotel people or campers.

We loved another day spent exploring the wonderful historical town of Bayeaux and its beautiful Cathedrel Notre Dame. We stayed in a spacious, modern, and comfortable room in the building that was once most likely a carriage house. A stream was right outside our door, and lovely flowers and trees dotted the property. We had an outdoor seating area in the back overlooking the tennis courts, and there was seating in spots around the property. Dinner was served in the main cheateu and was one of the best meals we ate in all of France. The desserts were like works of art and tasted absolutely amazing. Meals are charged to the room and paid for at check out which is so convenient. Service was fantastic and accomodating, and staff cheerfully arranged a taxi service for us a few times. Off the beaten path but within walking distance to train station. I would highly recommend if you are looking for peace, quiet, and the beauty of nature.

The environment is classy elegant but not old crappy that everything is ready to fall apart. Free Wi-fi is lame. We were given some 2 hours usage slips to get on their wi-fi. Who use internet only 2 hours for the entire stay? We ended up keep asking for extra slips for wi-fi such as hassle. Breakfast is soso. I don't feel any items are home made and very limited selection. Given there are so many restaurants in Bayeux with much lower price. You don't miss anything. The Chateau location is great, center to everything. We had great time in their spacious duplex. This is relaxing experience.

I was placed in a room with a mini split that worked fine for cooling. Now the negatives. The room was at the top of a very narrow winding staircase. Not easy to get up or down those stairs after walking around Paris for days and hauling luggage. Though I could walk around the bed so floor space was more generous than some other rooms I had to watch not to bump my head on the ceiling and I'm not a tall person. There was no coffee maker in the room or an electric kettle to heat water for tea. The bath was a small plastic enclosed shower with one soap dispenser. Water cups were paper, placed on the edge of a small basin with stacked wash cloths and hand towels. Aside from the stairs the worst part was a heavy perfumed smell which was nauseating and took some time to adjust to. The white pillowcases had several long dark hairs and the duvet cover had some staining. Were I not booked for just one night in a very busy town I would have relocated. The price was high for quality of accommodations, $306.84 for one night. My least favorite of 4 hotels across France during my travels and one I would not stay at again.
