3.5/5 From a recent…read morestay I would proclaim this to be one of the nicer if not nicest hotels while in Rimouski. It does seem like the largest in Rimouski. Previously I had stayed here in January 2014 and most recently in August. What's great about the hotel: - Very large spacious and lots of spaces to lounge around - Bar and restaurant available in the hotel - great location right across the street from the Rimouski boardwalk with great walking/running/bike trails. - pool, hot tub, - ample parking both front and back - lots of meeting room space for functions. What's so so: -decor is dated and a tad old in lobby and hotel rooms - feels like the hotel could use a good refresh into the year 2000 to modernize - WIFI is spotty at times. Put a code on it to prevent freeloaders moochers off the WIFI. What is on the poor side: - when you open the bathroom door it hits the toilet - bathrooms are small Overall it's not a bad experience but definitely could be better.

Everything in the room seemed to have been updated a bit. However this hotel is nothing short of creepy. You can get in the front door without a key up until 9 PM and there is no one who can see you from the front desk which is around the corner. The lobby is small, dark and there are people sort of hanging around at the door who could easily follow someone in the front door and up the elevator. The hallways are bleak. They are darkly lit and made of concrete block. The exterior of the hotel looks like a warehouse. The parking lot is gravel and we had to leave in the rain which was really a mess. After nine there's no one in the hotel although they give you a number to call if you have problems. There is a passcode to get in the door which I'm going to bet they never change. I would definitely not stay here as a single woman. The area around the hotel is OK but not great and this just seems like a very sketchy hotel. This might be OK if you were on a business trip or maybe out with the boys doing a little hunting, but I wouldn't come here with my family and I'm sorry I came here with my wife.

The neighbourhood is very quaint and walkable. The reception was helpful and it's extremely well priced. Fridge, microwave in the rooms make it easy to eat take out or shop at the local grocery store. I would recommend it to budget travellers looking for value.

We stayed here when dropping colleagues off for field work at Anticosti Island. The ship leaves…read morefrom Rimouski so we stayed the night to drop them and their gear off the next morning. The staff here speaks French and English well. The rooms were clean, European style so twin beds are small. It was comfortable and quiet when we were there. It bears mentioning that there is a theme to the entire hotel, and that is the Empress of Ireland, a ship that sank nearby in a terrible incident with loss of life similar to that of the Titanic disaster. It's fascinating, as many of the windows are designed like port-holes and there is a general nautical theme throughout. Definitely a Roadside America type destination, for those traveling through.

We weren't allowed to check in…read moreeven a little early which was challenging considering we'd travel so far and had to prepare for a funeral. So we checked in late at night after family events- arriving at our room that wasn't ready yet- still needed pillow cases for the bed. The gal at the front desk only brought us two- for 4 pillows. Then we were charged multiple times for the room. Oh well‍ room and bathroom otherwise lovely.
