Starting on a negative note (sorry) my biggest gripe was with how horribly our stay started because of the reception manger (middle aged woman with wavy hair). She was HORRIBLE and honestly had everyone else not been so great to makeup for her issues I would have likely left 1-2 star review. After I calmed down a bit felt it better to leave a more fair review but to also warn management that they shouldn't have someone like her in charge or working with people, everyone under her or who worked the front were so much more personable and normal! The short of it was when we arrived for our stay I was sick with a cold. Upon check in I politely noted that I was really sick from traveling and requesting if my room was ready if I could get in early. It was about 12pm and check in isn't until 3pm. The woman did her lookup on the computer and noted that the room was not ready, she acted sincere and said it would for sure be ready at 3pm but that if it was ready earlier she would let me know. Totally appropriate and I told her okay, I would kill an hour at the restaurant and come back. Came back around 1:15pm and room was not ready. Again, I was understanding and since I was only getting sicker I just had to plop down on the couch in front of her in the lobby and wait. What more could I do? Sat there from 1:15-2:30 coughing, sneezing, not a good situation to be in their main lobby. Finally with no word from room keeper at 2:30pm I was shocked. Most hotels given my circumstances would at least have asked housekeeping to finish up the room (check out is 11am, Pretending it wasn't ready by 2:30pm seemed like she was pushing it). I noted a second male hotel receptionist started working at the screen beside her so I politely went up to him and asked how much longer would it be for the room. This gentlemen goes "oh your room has been ready for awhile" here's your key. (Insert wide eyed emoji here). The anger that coursed through my body, that lady was lucky I was sick. The real kicker is after he gave me the key I had to pass her and she goes "have a nice stay". What a miserable you know what. She was the clear example of someone on a power trip who clearly has very little going on for her in her life. Mind you this woman watched me in the lobby for almost two hours sick, and wouldn't allow me to go to my room. Insane. You'd think I'd leave 1 star but after I got to my room everything was smooth sailing from there. The rest of the women and gentlemen I encountered with reception, at the restaurant, and on the grounds were lovely. They are what make this place great. The hotel was also darling inside and super cutely decorated. I was really impressed. My hotel room was cozy and cute. The beds were super comfortable and the room was a good size. Nice courtyard outside of the room. Would I stay here again? Eh. lol. That lady at the front really tried to ruin my experience but thankfully everything got better once she left. Thankful for a good experience just come here at your own risk.

It's a modern design with flat TVs on the wall and media connections for you're computer etc. The remotes are extremely slow if there's anything to complain about lol. We had a room (724) with a bloodstain on the sheets, so we called the reception and got a new room and a voucher for "Sturebadet Spa" for two. In our new room we wanted to take a bath but the plug was missing so again we called the reception who sent one up within minutes. The breakfast was also great with anything you could think off. But the staff did not speak either Swedish or English for some reason and they were a bit slow to refill and clean the tables. But they had a fabulous waffle-machine which did the most lovely waffles. The surroundings are excellent just by the water and you can easy get a boat to Slussen in like 10mins. But check the schedule first, it's like one every 50mins or something. When we were leaving they even asked how out r stay was and if we had a nice time. Now for the bad part, which probably don't have that much to do with the actual hotel. The Spa Sturebadet was really bad. + good looking pool + hammam - cosy, silent, hot and really lift your sprit :) - the jacuzzi worked for 10mins, then it was silent while cleaning for 10mins. It was dirty and they missed cleaning it the day before. - they offered complementary flat water and something with a little sparkle to it. No signs which was what. No juices, tea or coffee. -the floor was so slippery in the shower area and changing rooms when the floor was wet even with the hotel slippers. Take care!!! - if you pay for the spa entrance you don't get access to the hammam if you don't pay extra. Then it's another 100kr additional. - pool, jacuzzi and a little sauna is all that is included. -only two showers available when you've exited through the dressing rooms. -sauna only fit like 6ppl and it's not possible to throw any water on it to raise the temp. -the desk lady was really grumpy when we came and left. Don't waste your money here except if it's included in the rooms. The grade for the hotel is 4 and the spa a 2. Will stay in the hotel again, but not going to the spa again.

The hotel was nice, quiet, and the perfect place to work and relax. This is my favourite Scandic hotel in the Nordics, and I stayed in a few of them in Norway and Sweden over the years. What I was able to grab as they removed the trays was tasty, though --- 4-minute eggs, some sausages, reasonable bread with butter and jam. It does not leave the bathroom, or get over by the sink too much, but it was not what I was used to. (It is not a situation where you are showing with the toilet, there are distinct spaces.) The location almost immediately adjacent to the train station makes getting from the airport to the hotel a breeze. Easy walk to either where you need to go, or public transportation. I recommend!

We slept great with our window open to allow for fresh air...I think we were lucky that the late night revelers were not under our window while we slept. The breakfast buffet (included in room price) in the morning is one of the best I've seen in my many years of travel. It rivals the 5-star hotels where you have to pay extra for a buffet with the number of choices this breakfast offered. Everything from as fresh and tasty. You'd have to hate food to dislike this buffet. We had an early flight, day of our checkout so we only enjoyed the buffet once. However, the hotel staff made up to-go breakfast bags for us sent us off with nutritious sandwiches, fruits, and drink. Where do you get that service?!?! The lobby of the the hotel is roomy and very comfortable. There are many places to work, lounge, or read without feeling other guests are too close. It was nice to relax in this hotel. The price of our rooms were ~ $200 per night so I was very pleased with the hotel for all that it offered. It's close to shopping, transportation hubs, and a 20 minute walk to Old Town.

Bring stuff you can wash out in the sink! The pros: -Excellent location; across the street from Central Station and Arlanda Express, you can access the T-bana from the hotel lobby, many buses and trams stop within a few minutes of walking, many restaurants, department stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, a pharmacy, and other shops -Close enough to walk to many tourist spots -Quiet in rooms; I barely heard anything from other rooms, the hallway, or outside -Comfortable beds - not too hard or soft -Tasty breakfast; not a huge selection, but plenty for all types of diets -Sun deck area with great views, lots of seating, and even some exercise equipment -Rooms with and without windows (the latter are handy during the midnight sun) -Great staff -Good quality toiletries (hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap) -Electric kettle in room The cons: -No refrigerators in rooms, a big minus for me -No washers and dryers, and no self-service laundromat anywhere near. Today was impossible; I ended up eating my formerly hot breakfast in my room -No eating or drinking on the sun deck area, which I understand but is also a bummer -Not many TV channels -Some maintenance issues in the room, including a drape that doesn't close all the way, a burnt-out bathroom light that makes putting on makeup difficult, and a HVAC system that only blows cool or cold air, no matter how much I adjust it -Not enough maintenance staff to fix these things quickly -Water leaks onto the bathroom floor at the bottom of the shower; it's a design flaw As I mentioned, the pros do outweigh the cons, which are mostly minor issues.
