When I saw that they wanted almost $31,000 in closing costs & had the rate as adjustable to go up to 10% that was another red flag. When someone you don't know says "trust me" we won't let that happen & then you get a docusign with that exact same thing on it you know they cannot be trusted. Sam even told me that he did not know the lender sent that out. The final piece being when I tell them I do not want to proceed I get very unprofessional text messages from him. This is not an organization anyone should do business with & I will be contacting the BBB about them.

You can imagine the frustration I had with the mortgage industry after being pre-approved, offer accepted, appraisal and inspection done only to be told that I was flagged in a database for defaulting on my student loans. How did something so major get past such a big lending corporation? What can I do to salvage this after around $2,000 of my money was tied up in the offer? I've been paying on my student loans, how could this be happening? Enter Rudy McDowell. I found him online where he had answered all of the above questions on a blog that looked like it had a ton of interaction over the past 3-4 years. It was a bonus that he happened to be located in the same state as me, so I figured I'd give him a call - what did I have to lose? When I entered his office, I immediately felt better about my situation because Rudy laid out a game-plan on how to make this work. The prior lender would ask for a document here and there, but never told me why they needed that or explained what the process was, always leaving me in the dark. So I went online to see if someone could tell me what was going on. I chatted with a lady and she gave me a closing date of September 8. Well, September 8 came and went without any explanation or contact from Rocket mortgage. I had told my broker that I was on a time line. Now, after going way past the deadline, they want me to "correct " documents. If there was anything wrong with the documents, then why didn't the broker say so? I won't be doing business with Rocket mortgage again unless they manage to get back their previous focus on customer relations and service and stop playing silly games with people.
