After checking into my hotel one of my first orders of business was to find a liquor store so I could replace the hotels pricy stuff with my own stash. I Love Liquor 2 (there is another one on Collins Avenue further down south) was literally steps away. Inside is everything you are looking for as far as liquor is concerned but I had to really dig for the wine I prefer and actually never found it. I thought it would be pretty common, Woodbridge 750ml Chardonnay but it was not to be. I went with some Dark Horse instead which is also very good. We tried two different types of tequila but I forgot which brands we bought. All in all I found the prices to reasonable. Yes, more expensive than back home but this is Miami Beach. And while we all know buying your own liquor is way more cost effective than drinking out let me also put it into perspective this way. I had a glass of Chardonnay at my hotel before checking into my room and it costs me 18.00. 15.00 for the wine and the mandatory service fee. My bottle of Dark Horse 9.99 out of which I got three glasses. Surly old guy at the register one of the nights that I came in mad because I had a cup in my hand. Came in here while visiting Miami Beach for a small bottle of Patron. The half size (350ML). Searched around for a while and felt like the eyes were on me every second of the time I was in the store. I am not sure if they do this to everyone, due to theft, but it was an ugly feeling. I think that I dress rather well kempt and would chalk it up to the former reason. I Love Liquor...Yay! I'm a fanboy! It's a booze store and then some... Service: Friendly smiles, asked if I needed help and checked me out quickly. That's all I'm expecting from a liquor store and I got it. I wish my personal life was like that, but I digress Booze Inventory: Fantastic selection of economy, high end booze and everything in between. I was especially impressed with their vodka selection. There's I Love Liquor stores throughout South Beach, I'm sure if one store doesn't have what you're looking for, call to another. ijs.. Other inventory: Plenty of chips, various snacks and smokes to purchase as you see fit. But I was totally feeling the totally random I Love Liquor souvenirs! The store name with the heart symbol printed on Ball caps, t-shirts, beer coozies, sunglasses, backpacks, magnets, etc. It gives off that I Love New York cheesey souvenir vibe which I LOVE. Yaaas! This is the place to visit if you need to stock up for the pre-game, jumping on a mf boat for the day or you're just tired of spending $15-$18 a drink in South Beach. Be careful, this is one of those places where you walk in to buy only 1 or 2 necessities and you walk out with a bunch of snacky snacks and you're rocking a spiffy new neon green I Love Liquor hat. If you're gonna drink it, why not profess your love for the boozy stuff! I Love Liquor is combo liquor store- shocker! (decent prices and good selection) with the additional section and selection of the equivalent of all of the "I 'Heart' NY" cheesy tourist shops that scatter the Big Apple. And like those stores, you can't help but walk into I Love Liquor...the intrigue from window displayed merchandise and the name alone made it a must stop for me. ;) Scored the coolest soft-side ILL backpack cooler (wish I would have bought a few more as gifts), of course had to buy a T and a koozie, and yup, they even sell ILL bumper stickers! I bought one and am going to proudly slap that thing on my car - NOT! Nothing screams pull me over, am I right? [Today's PSA: Please don't drive drunk.] But, I did have to purchase one to put on my big red toolbox in my garage. There are also patches, key chains, shot glasses, etc.; and pencils that I was certain to buy and send to my young nieces in Cali - again NOT!...can you imagine their teacher's reaction. Ermagosh! After spending $$$ on drinks at clubs, bars and restaurants - we decided to get a little bottle for our room. We passed by I love liquor every day - loving the name, we decided to stop in. We looked around the Vodkas when we found Absolute SF. Ha! Two SF Natives in Miami, what could be better? We bought the bottle of fruit infused liquor and a couple mixers. (Update: We mixed it with several things, but the Coconut Water was the best. Seriously hydration + Liquor. :) I was really surprised that they were not listed. The selection is pretty great and I saw something about delivery. Liquor Delivery? Sounds like the best plan for your party. read more

I can almost hear the synth strains of Glenn Frey's "Smugglers Blues" walking into this spot. I was heading to a potluck beach party where I had to take liquor. Between morning errands and procrastination, such errands had been forgotten and I ran the risk of showing up empty handed. Luckily - and thanks to a friend's review - I remembered I Love Liquor. Located two blocks from the parking garage I was at and close to Linoln Road, it was perfect for me. Inside it's cozy space, there's a huge selection of any and all types liquor imagineable. They keep the top shelf ($400 bottles) behind the register. More importantly, I was able to get one of my favorite dark rums which was greatly enjoyed at said party. We even had enough to share with neighbors! Why the Glenn Frey reference? The manager on duty and cashier were kind enough to double bag it and make it safe for transport :) read more

Lots of liquor to choose from. This store is packed so be careful when walking because you can knock some stuff over! Prices were expected to be just a little elevated. Plenty selections of beer and wine . They even sold a cool I Love Liquor shirt, which was purchased by a member of the looney bin ( people who were with me). Customer service was helpful. Name and location win the day. Or, a-ok the day. With a name like I Love Liquor, how can a functional alcoholic NOT stumble his way inside to peruse the selection? And, for what it is, it's decent. Don't come here expecting the religious experience of a Total Wine (can I get an Amen?). But, for what it is and where it is, it's pretty much the best you're going to be able to find. The prices are higher than they should be (you're trapped on the beach), the workers vary from unhelpful to surly (again, you're on the beach; it's a way of life for retail staff) and the beer selection is shockingly poor (admittedly, the name is I Love Liquor, not I Brake For Beer... but, still. I just love the name!!! I think we all did since we paid this liquor store a visit several times. There is another I Love Liquor place about a block down, so if you forget something, you can grab it at the other location. Good selection of alcohol, etc. There are a couple of employees that work here to either help you or to "watch" you. Hmmm, I wonder if they get a lot of liquor stolen?! I see a couple of video monitors right when you enter the store, then you see a dude in the middle of the store watching shoppers like a hawk. Considering that most of the surrounding hotels (Delano, Ritz, National Hotel) can run you $15+ for a glass of wine or a cocktail, it may be a dollar well spent for vacationers looking to invest in their own little stash. I love liquor! We ventured in here so we could have drinks in our hotel room without having to pay $20-$25 for one. There is a lot of choices and the staff are mostly helpful and nice. There was a "muscle" guy standing at the front watching people. He kind of creeped me out a bit. The prices were reasonable for Miami (bc everything is $$$). And it was literally across the street from our hotel - WIN! They also sell a variety of beers, sodas, and juices. Very clean and organized place. Featuring miniature bottles of Fireball, cold bottles of rose, and towels/novelty t-shirts with slogans like "I'm In Miami, Bitch"... they've successfully written a business model that employs dozens of of people living along the Atlantic Ocean. RIPOFF WARNING I live in South Miami but was attending an event at Loews across the street from this place. We needed some refreshments so I popped in for a bottle of whiskey and a sixpack of beer. I saw a bottle of Slane's on the shelf which is my whiskey of choice. I normally pay about $25 for it in South Miami. They had it marked at $37.99. But I shrugged (Miami Beach prices, right?), and grabbed the bottle plus a six of Fat Tire and took it to the counter. The clerk rang it up and says $111.00. Surprised, I told her she must be mistaken. She said it scanned at $77! I showed her the price tag & explained the normal price & she shrugged. I asked her, you gonna fix this? Go here to get your soda, water and spirits instead of at Walgreens or CVS - much cheaper! And great selections to chose from. Even if you don't want to buy a regular sized bottle of something they sell those small mini bar sized bottles and individual cans of drinks that will still come out far cheaper than any bar around and don't get me started on what the hotels and restaurants charge for drinks. Wow! They have absolutely every liquor bottle you could ask for - brand, flavour, type, size, shape... I was like a kid in a candystore! I wish it was easier to bring liquor back home to Sweden.
