Short Review: This is a nice sit-down restaurant in the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. It is located right next to the Burberry store as you walk through the L terminal duty free stores. It's a nice place to relax and eat while you have a long layover. Long Review: I was so thrilled to find a nice restaurant to sit down and have lunch during a 4.5 hour layover at CDG. They were very accommodating and obviously reservations are not available cause...really? It's a pretty nice size restaurant with a view of the planes and white napkin table service. I'd never been to a Guy Martin restaurant so was excited to try it. They have a varied lunch menu so you can pretty much get what you want. I decided to splurge and start with sweet potato soup and get the lamb shoulder meal. And by splurge that means it was 14 euros for the soup and 36 euros for the lamb. In the States that would have been at least a $90 meal! The cooked veggies that came with the meal were great, but the lamb was undercooked for my taste. Mind you, I'm a medium-well gal so I had to suck it up and eat it as prepared. Partly because I didn't want to send it back since I didn't ask how it was prepared, and partly because I didn't want to offend them. But...wouldn't get that again. Plus it was a HUGE portion and I couldn't finish it all. I also ordered a glass of French Pinot Noir. It was not to my liking at all. Maybe I'm used to California Pinots, but that was the worst glass of Pinot I've had. The wait staff was very unfairly with the wine list and what paired with what...but hey it's the airport. I don't expect a sommelier to help us. Again, send it back. Didn't want to offend. So 4 stars for the location, ambiance and minus 1 for the food experience. A layover with minimal dining options, but truly this is the best in the terminal. Been through here a few times and this is the restaurant I will return to. The Vanilla Latte arrived to the table first and it was beautifully presentated and perfectly prepared. As far as airport coffee's, hands down one of the best. My meal of choice was a Ceasar Salad. (Menu says it had brisket, but no brisket as I know it to be, but bacon and chicken were on top and quite good.) Fast service! We were in and out, well fed within 45 mins. We had a 5 hour layover at Charles De Gaulle Airport, and spent some time passing shops that scream "you can't afford me" before finding this place. Prices seemed reasonable (for Paris) and the food looked...pretty. This is Paris, after all. I started with a Chimay Grande Reserve while my wife had a white wine...the perfect tonic for jet lag. The food was suitably gorgeous. My plate had a whitefish with a smoky mound of spinach on top, and a tomato compote formed into a rectangle. The fish was bland, but the spinach was terrific. The compote was basically stewed tomatoes. Not bad when paired with the fish and spinach. The highlight of the meal was the cream of zucchini soup with roasted mini potatoes. I savored every spoonful of roasted goodness in the purée. The roasted exterior of the potatoes added a gorgeous pop with every bite. My wife's steak also looked pretty, but it was a minefield of fat and gristle. It was seriously impossible to find a single bite that didn't require a lot of chewing. The taste was good, but not worth the effort. The hollandaise sauce was great, but who wants to pay 35 euros for sauce? The service was good, and the decor is beautiful...much nicer than you'd expect at an airport. I would stop here for breakfast (which wasn't available at the time) or drinks. But, is it too much to expect that the steak be edible? Guy Martin is a legendary French chef who has earned three Michelin stars. For the steak to be this shockingly awful tells me that he has not been in this restaurant in a very long time. A great backdrop in the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport - terminal 2E Gate L, yet the service & food were unpleasing. We repeatedly had to garner the wait staff to get assistance. The staff needs more training, as the iPad ordering was not seamless. I got the Vegan burger - it was undercooked & tasteless. My Daughter got the Duck foie gras terrine & did not finish it. The price point was ridiculously too high - two Mimosas & two entrees - 90 Euros, definitely not worth it. We thought this was a good decision since we didn't have access to AirFrance Lounge. Something I did try to push back on as we have Delta Sky Lounge access & AirFrance is a "partnered" airline & was hoping for a good experience at I Love Paris by Guy Martin. I wanted to like it since it's nice having a sitdown dinner service before my last few moments in Paris. Terminal 2E - L gates didn't have any other choices but food-grab-n-go style cafes. I went for the Entree + Plat + Dessert for 47€ - The Leek Salad was good - The Zander fish was also good but maybe a dash of salt would be better - The creme brulee was also good, although cracking the glaze was not as satisfying as I would like (lol) For a restaurant named as I Love Paris, the menu was a bit disappointing. This restaurant is a prime example of why Michelin-starred chefs can be overrated. If someone like Guy Martin is behind this place, he seriously needs a refresher at culinary school. Even amateurs could create better food and a more appealing restaurant. I ordered the entrecôte, which was so chewy and barely edible that it reminded me of my college days eating at Norms. Honestly, Coco's serves better steaks than this place. I paid 37 euros for a subpar diner-style steak and frozen fries. Save your money and don't bother. Just grab a sandwich from the market next door instead. I am not even going to get into how bad the service is; I think other reviewers have already covered that. I would give this place zero stars if I could! We were staying at the Yotel before an early flight the next day and wanted to enjoy a last meal in France. We arrived at 8pm. Long wait to be seated and take our order, which should have been warning signs. My husband's meal came and my son's kids meal came. Asked for an extra plate and never got one. We got 3 forks/knives. I waited. After some time I asked and the waitress went to check. She came back to say they ran out of lamb but the kitchen was closed so I couldn't order anything else. It was 8:45 when they advertised closing at 9:30. I asked for the manager who then said the waitress couldn't understand that I wanted the lamb. Wasnt sure which it was - that she didn't know I wanted the lamb or that they ran out. He said there was nothing he could give me as the kitchen was closed. Fine dining sit down restaurant in Terminal 2E by the L Gates. Beautiful atmosphere, with elevated ceilings, retro furniture, and classy feel. Entrees run between €25-€40, or there are some entrees you can pair with an appetizer or dessert for €36. We ordered water which cost us €15 (€7.50/bottle) Because of this I'm docking a star. Everything about our food was fantastic. Beautiful appearance and very flavorful. Service was slow even though they weren't busy. It was the only sit down option in the terminal. Summary: Food okay, slow service and don't trust the waiter, and check your credit card bill. The food is good, but as many reviewers said, the service seems to lack an acceptable standard. Took a little while before we got the waiter to return to take our order. We then waited a while again for the food. The food was okay. One plate an appetizer of cheese, sausage, and meat. The problem is, he did not serve us the bread which is important for this dish. It took him a while to get us one bread and he said they are baking a new batch and will give us more. We probably waited for over 1/2 hour before we finally got more bread. Yes, this is an airport restaurant so it is important to get the order promptly so we can catch a flight. Luckily, we had a 4-hour layover. When we finally finished, it took us a while to get the bill. When the waiter finally showed up, he asked if we would like to tip him... I could be mistaken, but 1) I thought it is not necessary to tip at a French restaurant 2) Isn't it rude for a waiter to ask for tip? I asked him maybe 15%. He got my card and inserted it to the machine himself and seemed to be a little confused what 15% is to my bill. I gave him a hint how much it should be, but he still was calculating in his head saying, he had to calculate it in Euros...I have no idea what he meant because we are in Paris and the bill is already in Euros and 15% has not currency conversion necessary. Without explaining too much, I felt like there is something weird with the waiter. SURE ENOUGH, I monitored my credit card activity, the waiter charged me 31% tip (not 15%). I made a dispute to the transaction with the bank and they credited me the difference. I probably should have told the bank to just give me the amount equivalent to the bill without tip because the waiter should not deserve any if he started stealing from the customer. The environment is not bad but we were really close to other tables so we cannot really talk very loud. Adjacent to I Love Paris is a convenient food shop. If you want a close ambiance with the window view outside the building to see the planes, you might as well just order food from there. read more

I wish I knew the very Beautiful young deep complexion lady name (looks like she's 16). What an amazing conversation I had with her. There can be 5 people behind the bar and none acknowledge the customers. You just feel the pain, agony, and utter anger of all the customers around you, like you, desperately trying to order food and drinks. The staff is extremely busy talking with each other and doing everything except attending to customers. The customer conversation around the bar with strangers is how frustrating and horrible the service is. If you do get their attention it's an obvious inconvenience attitude. I don't know who Guy Martin is but after eating here I don't think he "really" loves Paris. If he did, I wouldn't have been served the most overcooked omelette on earth. Let's break it down... The space - gorgeous. It's got a beautiful 1930's Deco aesthetic and super comfy velvet club chairs. We stopped for petit dejeuner and opted for the €19 "American breakfast". It's a lot of food! A hot beverage (chocolat chaud pls!), fresh OJ, eggs and a breakfast meat plus fresh bread with quality butter and honey. Yum! I mean yum to all of it except that omelette which has the approximate texture and moisture content of a Goodyear tire. My husband went for scrambled eggs and they were great - looser than what we usually get in the US and wonderfully custard-y. Get that instead. Service was plenty friendly and items came out quickly. They offered foods next door which you cold bring into the bar. I tried to tip my bartender but it seemed like it was a mass confusion. I told her I had only American currency and credit cards. Which would she accept? She said, "Either," so I placed $14 dollars in the counter. She said, "I haven't charged your card yet." I was thinking, why would you? I gave you more than enough here... I usually have a morning flight from CDG to the US. Between the hour needed to ride to the airport and the time spent going through security, I end up having to leave the hotel in Paris long before breakfast is served. Located on the airside, close to the gates, I love Paris lets me enjoy a last good french breakfast in a relaxed setting before boarding. As Bistro-esque as you are going to find in CGD Terminal 2E. OK, your other choices are limited to take-away sandwiches and over brewed coffee shop offerings. Since we had several hours to kill and this place was not crowded, I welcomed the opportunity to be served by a proper waiter/waitress and enjoy a scratch-made breakfast entree that was not served in a paper wrapper. I ordered the basic scrambled eggs/sausage offerning and was really pleased with what I received. The coffee was great and the orange juiced tasted freshly squeezed. My wife wasn't so lucky with her order, but at least we had a relaxing meal in a sophisticated setting without the distraction of gate traffic or general rushing around. This place is not out in the open, but the ambience is really nice. Very classy, and all I got was breakfast. There are three types of breakfast: Continental, French and American. Ok, for those of you who Yelp in France, or at least the CDG International Airport, here is my review of "I Love Paris" and the general area around it as far a food goes. It is gonna suck food wise anywhere around Terminal E. There are very few options and after walking for about an hour I found this joint. It is one of two options and the other one looked bleak, so ILP it was. As other Yelpers pointed out the entrance is confusing and the service is appalling. The deli side is Miyou where I ended up after I could not get someone to seat me for 10 minutes (me walking around waving my hands). I got a Cappuccino for almost €4, a salmon salad for €13 (and it is small) and topped of with a egg sandwich for €6.50. All is all €23.10 for a small salad, a sandwich and a coffee. The salad was nothing special, the sandwich was an egg, 2 slices of tomato and an anchovy, and the coffee was not bad (hence the extra star). For an International Airport the food selection is shockingly poor and this place is doing nothing to helps its rep. I fly through here frequently but wont drop that kind of money in this place. Michielin star or not the food did not hack it and the service was none existent. If you want your name on the door I suggest you make sure the food represents you Chef Martin! read more

The food was the worst I ate in Paris. The "pan seared" lamb was tiny (two 3 cm discs), dry and bland - it didn't taste or feel seared, but if it was, that must have happened at some commissary many hours earlier; it was accompanied by a sour and soggy pea salad that tasted like it had sat a half day in a tub. The hamburger's bun was stale (as were three puny rolls that were delivered without butter or oil), the meat overcooked to a leathery dryness, and the fries (chips) were soggy and bland - either reheated from the freezer or left over from breakfast. The staff drifts between inattention and unfriendliness and not just toward us - they ignored a choking woman). We arrived at the restaurant and there was a sign stating to wait for the hostess. When she arrived she started repeating in French the restaurant is completely full. She repeated this over and over like a parrot. But the restaurant was not full, there were in fact at least 3 empty tables and 2 couples had walked out during her parroting. She asked that another coworker come over and explain to us in English that we had to wait about 20min which was fine with us we our flight wasn't leaving for another 3.5 hours. While we were speaking with the other lady a man walked up asked to sit the bar the hostess looked at us and said it was ok. So this is complete fucking bullshit. We just spent 1 week in Paris and didn't experience this fucking snobbery but at the airport!?!! Really how out dated and tacky for this shitty low life behavior. Run, don't walk, away from this establishment. We had about an hour and a half to wait for our flight to Johannesburg and we were starving. It was either this place or a plastic wrapped sandwich. We entered the restaurant and we were immediately lost as to where to go - confusing entrance. We were excited that it is a Guy Martin restaurant and so our expectations were high. We waited to be acknowledged by the staff to be seated, and after a couple of minutes I seated us. We were asked to move secondary to an unknown reason. The table that we received was squeezed between a pole and another table - I was eating my knees the whole meal. We informed the waiter that we had a flight to catch in an hour and a half and I think he said it would be ok. We were totally confused how to order on the tablets and they froze often - we eventually had to have the waiter take the tablet and show us the menu. Very limited selections. The food- completely inedible. The cheese selection was poor and tasted like it was cut a week ago and left on the counter. The potted stew in a very hot pot was horrific - the lamb was like leather and the vegetables obliterated in a gray thick lumpy sauce. Not sure what I was eating. Nothing seasoned and when we asked for salt I think they had to go to the salt mine to get it. We had to hurry the staff to get our food on time and then rushed to the gate - stop at the bathroom for mouthwash to get that taste out of our mouths. Worst $110 I have ever spent - Guy Martin should take his name off this place and quit trying to be the McDonalds of France.
