I contacted this company 5 months in advance of a Luau themed party. They were to provide appetizers, main course and desert with a server and all necessary items like plates, cutlery, napkins, etc. All in the written contract. I confirmed the timing several days before the event. Andrei showed up (on time) with no server, no plates, etc. Sent him to the store to get these items. He set up all the food at the same time and left. We had to do the serving ourselves. He didn't return until the next morning to pick up his stuff which we had to put out of the way. Only received two of the three main courses we ordered, food was mediocre at best. Very disappointing. read more

Chef Andrei is the BEST! Amazing cook and incredible personality. We've booked him for our wedding and I cannot wait for that, but this time around I reached out with very little notice to ask Chef Andrei to surprise my fiance with a nice dinner. I'm injured and can't navigate around the kitchen to cook at all, but wanted to celebrate 3-years cancer free. Chef Andrei responded promptly saying he has a booking that day, but if I'm okay with it being afterwards he'd love to! He asked some questions to create a menu, asked if we had a grill and he took care of the rest! We were gone but Chef Andrei brought all his own stuff, made a delicious meal, left our food covered and even cleaned up things I left out for him and cleaned and seasoned our cast iron skillet. The food was INCREDIBLE, delicious, and huge portions! My fiance was stoked and I'm even more stoked to have leftovers. So grateful Chef Andrei made this happen to celebrate this milestone, and very excited to use his business in a few months for an even more important day:) read more

Our experience with this company was so egregious I almost can't believe I'm even writing this. We hired Andrei to cater the first night of a bachelorette party. After confirming with him, and following up & confirming again about a week before the dinner, we emailed him the night before the dinner to touch base just before the event. We never heard from him ever again. We tried every route available to us: both email addresses on his website as well as calling, leaving voicemails, and texting the phone number. We actually took the additional step of contacting the woman who had referred him to us. She said she tried contacting him as well but couldn't get a hold of him. He never showed up. The first day of this long-planned weekend was ruined and we had to order pizza as a last minute option, because obviously it would be impossible to hire someone as a replacement chef the same day. Initially, we thought something horrible happened to him. But the very next day, we had a different friend text the same number we texted to inquire about his services, and he almost immediately responded. We have no idea why he ghosted us, decided not to show up the very last minute, or why he couldn't take the basic step of at least shooting one (1) single text to let us know he wasn't going to show up. The very bare minimum would be to at least contact us after the fact to apologize. The fact that it's been a few days now and he STILL hasn't contacted us means he simply doesn't care about showing up to scheduled events for which he's been hired as the sole chef. He left all 16 of us in the lurch, and all 16 of us would be well within our rights to leave him a 1 star review. EDIT: I'm even more confused by the response? I'm uploading pics of our communications. First, "you never hired me" is confusing because why would we offer to pay hundreds of dollars as a deposit to someone we were not hiring? Second, "I never heard back" is bizarre when we emailed him back one day after his last email to us, and then WE never heard back from him. This is, of course, after we offered a deposit to "lock it in" (see pictures for literally direct quotes) and he said a deposit was not necessary to do that. We also gave him a time and an address right after he asked, and he never said he couldn't do the job, or that anything more was needed from us. Quite frankly, I also don't believe the carrier update. I mean.... really? We emailed (I emphasize, EMAILED) on top of texting him and he didn't have wifi or check his emails.... ever? To date, we have not received a direct email or text at least acknowledging our attempts to contact him, informing us of any carrier update, and/or apologizing for a "miscommunication." Plus, our friend texted him the literal next day and he responded right away (see pictures). Ultimately, even if we chalk this up to "miscommunication," the least this man could've done is communicated with us like an adult. Honestly, had he simply responded to us, we would've been bummed to miss out on the experience but probably let it go. Instead, he chose to completely ghost us. That's not only a horrible way to treat clients, but a horrible way to treat other human beings. Whatever, I guess before hiring this dude make sure you sign a contract, and given his capacity for excuses, you should probably get a lawyer to review that contract to make sure it's completely airtight. Otherwise, hey, it's your own fault he doesn't show up. read more

We hired Chef Andrei for a private dinner in a Paso Robles Airbnb for 5 women. Communication with Andrei was very easy and efficient. He took our input of preferences and dietary restrictions, and recommended wines to pair with the dishes that we picked up ahead of time. On the day of the dinner, Andrei confirmed the timing, was respectful of the space, and left the kitchen sparkling clean. The dishes we had were all 10/10: seared scallops with a mango crema, salmon and tuna tartare with a delicious ginger sauce, filet mignon with ratatouille, and an amazing flourless chocolate cake. Our only complaint was that we wanted more sauce with the tartare and filet - they were SO good. We would hire Andrei for future events and would highly recommend him to others! read more

This is my second time working with Chef Andrei and he did not disappoint! We (15 people) had a delicious 3 course meal plus fresh oysters. The kitchen at the air bnb was not ideal but this didn't deter Chef. Im sure it wasn't easy cooking in there! I worked with chef beforehand in creating a menu perfect for our group which included scallops, octopus, steak, mushroom risotto and the chocolate crème brûlée of your dreams. We hired Chef Andrei for a private bachelorette dinner for 11 women with high hopes, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations. Despite clear communication about a gluten allergy for one of our guests ahead of time, several elements of the meal failed to accommodate those needs -- which was both frustrating and concerning. My friend did not get to eat majority of the meal - just salad. Some of the food was okay, but most of the food was mediocre. Beyond the food, the chef's demeanor felt disengaged and lacking the warmth or hospitality you'd hope for in a fun private dining setting. There was little interaction, no introduction, no sense of hosting, and overall the evening felt awkward and impersonal. I and several others found him rude. For the occasion, we were hoping for a more thoughtful, tailored experience -- but instead we were left disappointed. Thanksgiving 2025, he created a masterpiece of a charcuterie board for almost 30 people. It was visually beautiful and - of course - a gourmet delight. He showed up promptly and within a half hour, the house was smelling amazing. Wow. Chef Andrei provided a private dinner for us this past weekend at our Airbnb in Templeton. We were shocked and disappointed by how bad it was in every respect. Communication with Chef Andrei was fine prior to the event. We had requested some of our pizzas be gluten free and that our dinner start at 8:30. He said there was no issue with that. He arrived around 6:15, flustered because his GPS could not find our Airbnb. I introduced myself and showed him where the kitchen was. He said he would let us know when dinner was ready, so we continued to relax. At some point, a few guests walked into the kitchen to grab drinks from the fridge. They introduced themselves and tried to talk to the Chef, but he straight up ignored them. They were so uncomfortable by the way he was acting that they did not want to enter the kitchen. He seemed mad that they entered his space. At some point I went to grab drinks from the kitchen, and I noticed a bag of frozen meatballs sitting on the counter. We had requested meatballs as an appetizers... Before 8pm he said that the food was ready. I asked him if we could wait a few more minutes because we were anticipating an 8:30 start time. He reluctantly agreed. He placed the appetizers and salad on the table around 8:15. The skewers were the most basic appetizer I have ever seen. There was one cherry tomato, one piece of cheese, and one piece of basil on a tiny stick. There was no sauce and or anything interesting about the skewers whatsoever. The meatballs were actually pretty tasty, but I think the credit should really go to Trader Joe's for that. Folks really liked the salad, and the pizza was fine. The ricotta cake looked beautiful from the outside, however the top half of the cake was a little burned and bottom half was almost raw. Worst of all, Chef Andrei forgot to bring gluten free dough, so one of our guests was unable to eat most of the food. Rather than try to improvise or run out to try to fix his mistake, he said "oh shit that is my bad" and kept cooking. His "solution" to this was mistake was to only charge us for 12 guests instead of the 13 we had reported we would have. He apologized initially, but then got defensive when we said how disappointed we were. It really seemed like Chef Andrei took no pride in the food he served, which makes sense because it was mediocre at best. After he placed the food on the dining room table, he did not explain what he was serving or talk to us much at all. After we had finished eating, we cleaned the dishes ourselves while he stood arguing with the bride about his mistake with the gluten free pizzas. Overall we had a terrible experience with Chef Andrei and I advise against hiring him. read more

We had a family reunion of 25 guests and Andrei catered for our special dinner celebration. The food went above and beyond! Everything was delicious, all cooked right there and fresh. Nothing was overdone, soggy, mushy or cold, it was all perfect. The menu went together very well with his advice on a selection of tasty things. Everyone raved about the mushroom risotto. The kids in our group were thrilled when he made a separate treat for them of spaghetti and meatballs. The trouble is, the adults kept stealing the kids meatballs because it was so good. Chef Andre listened to our needs and custom designed menu for both nights, and even a vegan entree for one person. Chef Andre went above and beyond with a vegan cake for a birthday celebration one of the nights! The service included food preparation, a server, and clean up! Six friends and myself recently rented a VRBO for three nights in Templeton. A search led us to I Love To Cater and Chef Andrei. He would arrive about 3 hours before dinner and create delicious meals from scratch in our kitchen. Meals were served family style - our choice. All of us (senior citizens) were very pleased with the meals he prepared.Two of the appetizers (octopus in tomato sauce and shellfish in tomato sauce) were especially raved about. Chef Andrei is very responsive and flexible. He even left us with a cooked quiche on our last night that we could reheat for breakfast on get-away day. Chef Andrei was amazing, I'd highly recommend him. We rented a home in Santa Margarita for ten days and hired him to cook meals each night for us. We've traveled quite a bit, and with small kids, we've found this is much more relaxing. Due to that I've worked with a. number of chefs and when we started the process, he was very responsive, which was amazing. He got us a menu, quote, and followed up to answer any questions quickly. Each day he showed up on time, and dinner was ready exactly when we had asked. This might not seem like a big deal, but after years of experience, I've rarely had someone so consistent and right on time. We planned to feed our kids separately as they're young and picky. Chef Andrei made it work and fed them as well. He gets kids and prepared them kid-friendly food each night. He really took the pressure off, and we were so grateful. Beyond that, he included my kids in the preparation. They got to help him make homemade pasta, which was amazing! I could not have been more grateful for the experience. In regards to the food, it was good. I'd HIGHLY recommend his pasta. Each one was amazing, all homemade, and excellent. He plated just the right amount, but when it came to the pasta, I could have kept eating and eating. We had a starter or salad each night, main dish, and dessert. The desserts were fantastic and some of the most awesome cakes. Beyond all of that is just how easy he was to work with. You never felt like a bother if you were in the kitchen, he always left it clean, and it was fun just chatting with him. A group of my friends and family decided to book I Love To Cater for our annual trip to Paso Robles. We'd never tried using a private chef but thought it might be easier than heading to a local eatery. We're a group of 12 and can be pretty boisterous after a day of wine tasting. Chef Andrei was very easy to work with. He was quick to respond while we were planning and created a menu that everyone in our group was happy with. He even made special versions of the salad for people with food allergies. It was so nice to come back to our rental with the table set beautifully and dinner on its way. We had a 7 course individually plated meal. The food was absolutely delicious and service was seamless. Fun was had by all. Chef Andrei and Emily were wonderful.
