There are many process servers in San Diego - I would not go with this one. We hired Danny to serve our defendant. After several weeks of not hearing anything from our process server, we reached out to him via email and by phone. His response was never immediate and we always got his voicemail (it always took a few days for us to get an email back). He eventually told us he had been unsuccessful in serving the defendant thus far, that he would continue to try, as we paid for eight attempts. Another whole month passed by and we still did not receive any update. We reached out to him again via email and by phone (leaving yet another voicemail), and days passed with still no response. We did eventually receive an email stating that he attempted 8 times without success. We had to pay someone else to serve our defendant, in addition, to paying I Serve Paper for their failed attempts.. I understand that unsuccessful service would be a possibility and that's not an issue. But the reason I gave him 1 star is because: 1) Lack of communication and poor response time 2) It took him 7 weeks to complete the attempts (and that's with us hounding him), which left us with VERY little time to get the defendant served by someone else before the deadline. 3) He charged us $120 for 8 attempts to serve our defendant. And because we were suing the defendant and the defendant's company, we needed to hand her the same case twice once served (one for her and one for her company). "I Serve Papers" charges a $25 fee to hand over the court documents twice, which we happily paid. However, since he failed to serve her at all, he couldn't hand her the court documents twice, therefore that additional fee should be returned to us. The kicker is that we emailed him regarding the $25 refund and to no surprise, we didn't get a response. It's been weeks since we sent that email. Even if he is unwilling to refund us the $25 dollars for the additional service that was not provided, it would be professional to respond to our email inquiry. I felt it was necessary to write this review. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and go with someone else who gets the job done or, at the very least, responds to your emails regarding the service you purchased from them. read more

These guys were awesome! I uploaded everything online via their website and they were in contact with me within 24 hours ...and had papers served within a week! WOOHOO! They even file proof of service for you with the court house. Paid the $75 invoice on Monday, 1st attempt to contact the defendant was Friday (advertises 1st contact within 48hrs), he was told the defendant worked at the other office by the receptionist (20min North), I received a email demanding another $75 in order to serve the other address (advertises 8 contact attempts included)..would not negotiate the price. I used Danny in the past (at least twice) when he was under the other company. Papers were served, he followed up with me right away to let me know and received a scanned copies. This time I can't say the same. The communication wasn't there like my previous two encounters. I had to contact him a few days later to see if they were having problems reaching the person, he told me the person was served two days ago. I only found that out because I called. I contacted Joe after reading his reviews, and so happy I did. I emailed him to get a better understanding of what I needed to get someone served and he explained everything very thoroughly. Were it not for I Serve Papers, a case that has been ongoing for 2 years, against 2 very, Very bad people, would have been DISMISSED on a technicality because of... a lazy lawyer. I Serve Papers (Danny) was immediate in responding, was extremely patient with questions I had regarding very challenging circumstances, and then was thoroughly informative. And then, did what he said. Which is unusual enough anymore, but further, showed professional integrity such that it was not necessary for me to hunt ISP down for the outcome of the White Knuckle Service of Papers. Yelp is a good place to find good services, but usually when someone gets all good reviews, I get very cautious. Well, Joe has proved to me that he deserves all the good reviews. He just helped me serve eviction papers to my tenant. Very responsive when I first got in touch with him. I was still in the process of filing my papers at the court and he told me to keep him posted about the process. Finally got the papers today, and as soon as he got my message, he showed up at my door in 15 minutes. The papers were served in less than 1 minute. He will file the proof of service at court for me, which saves me a trip. He got the whole serving process recorded so the tenant can't say "No, I didn't get the papers". The website looked great and this appeared to be a high quality service process server company. I called way in advance (over 2 weeks) to arrange the specific dates and times for court documents to be served to my ex-spouse. Danny was very professional and agreeable to my request and said the specific details were perfect and he scheduled my primary and back-up appointments. After I paid the premium fee and scheduled the appointments, the subcontractor that was used was not very responsive and I often couldn't get any communication or status on my service until 24 hours later. My first service was unsuccessful and my second service did not happen at all. I wound up using another service and paying a second time in order to get my docs served. read more

I was under a very tight window of opportunity to serve papers on an order to appear for a debtor's exam. I'd been waiting far too long for my writ of execution and then another delay for a debtor's exam. The debtor in the meantime had moved assets around, quit her job, was taking a lot of trips and was on the brink of going out of the country. Again, I would be missing the court deadline for service if it didn't get done over the weekend. I had submitted my paperwork to the Sheriff's Dept but they could not process it quickly enough to meet the tight deadline and would not be able to process service over the weekend. The reason I needed a female process server was because I was taking a small boutique to small claims and pretty much this lady who was the owner of a small boutique and was hard to find. She only opens her Bridal Shop by appointment only. Joe and his team quickly gathered information from me about her and immediately worked on my case.
