Right after the appointment there was definitely some mild swelling (which I was forewarned about) and I'd read enough stories/reviews describing the post-appointment look as "Angry Birds." She told me because my skin was more oily that micro blading wasn't worth it, since they would fade quickly and that I should get the shaded ombre instead. It's a snug but very clean washroom. I went for eyebrow shaping (threading), eyebrow tinting, and upper lip threading. It came to $60 after tip. The woman helping me asked me what type of shape I wanted and drew out the ideal shape. She asked me if I liked it and checked in with me a lot as she progressed. I really appreciated that. She was also very gentle. While the brow tint was developing, she massaged my hands which was great. After she removed the tint, she gave my eyebrows a massage as well. Once she was done, she applied aloe gel (you can choose rose gel instead) to help soothe and reduce the redness (my skin is super sensitive). I will definitely return!

All of the reviews you will read are TRUE! Polina is amazing...... "mic drop!" It was a wonderful experience to have such professionalism and an actual explanation of things. My previous salon just assumed I knew what I wanted and how things work. Well I didn't, which let to not liking my eyelashes the first few time. I also didn't understand why they were falling out in chunks and never looked quite right. Polina explained that the length and thickness you can wear will have limits based on your own lashes. My previous technician just seemed to throw whatever on and it always seemed rushed. There is real care and precision taken while Polina makes you look your best. I was much happier with my new look and my lashes felt more comfortable, more natural. I also feel they actually look more natural, even though they are fuller and curlier than I could ever hope to have with my mediocre genetics lol. I did the plush volume mix set. $120 for a new set, which included removal of the disaster set I had on. The Beauty Corner is small, but it's clean and comfortable with competitive prices. You get to listen to some old school tunes while Polina does her thing! Tips are also not expected. I tried to tip and she would not let me lol. Please note that I have been regularly getting my lashes done for the last 4 years. I've recently moved to the Kits area so I was in search for a new technician. I have never had such an uncomfortable experience in all these years. The process was very uncomfortable and painful to the point where I even considered stopping the appointment. My eyelids were taped uncomfortably too high at the corners. The tape was pulling on my eyelids so hard that my eyes were pulled slightly open and the bright light was blinding me. I managed to wiggle my eyes out of the grip that I could keep my eyes 100% closed. My top eyelids felt too exposed and the glue was stinging me. Throughout the appointment, her hand kept resting on my forehead or nose which made it very uncomfortable and unprofessional as well. I was also disappointed with my initial consultation prior to beginning the appointment. I communicated that I wanted full, dramatic long lashes. There was one lash left from my previous set (done by a different technician) and she told me that the lash was too heavy for my natural lashes and that she wanted to preserve my natural ones. Fair enough, however I am fully aware of what I'm signing up for and the risks involved. I wanted something dramatic since I was leaving for a beach vacation the very next day and didn't want to put on any other extra makeup during this time. However, after some more back and forth, she insisted that we go a more natural look so I eventually agreed. Once the appointment was finished and I went home to have a good look, I was very disappointed since it did not have the dramatic look that I was hoping for. For a natural look, the lashes and texturing turned out nice. Unfortunately, it just wasn't what I wanted. Unfortunately, I will not be returning due to the uncomfortable procedure and unwillingness to cater to the client. In hindsight, I'm upset at myself for not directly speaking up or giving constructive criticism during my appointment. Live and learn.
