To the right of the school building, there's a "Welcome to our Sculpture Park and Nature Tail" sign but not much nearby. Yep, the nature trail part and you'll end up walking at least a half mile and maybe more before you start to spot the sculptures on a trail that branches off to the right. If you're here in the warmer weather, you'll want to be prepared with some bug repellent spray as they were all around us today. But we managed to find the sculptures and enjoyed the trail. How can i forget Women's Studio Workshop???…read more There's no way I could gush enough praise of this place that would come close to describing how wonderful it is! gosh, where do i start?? 1) The studios: They transformed an old hardware store from the 1800s into a two story art studio that includes areas for: paper-making, printmaking, letter pressing, bookbinding, ceramics, photography and silk screening. It's set in the woods and surrounded by nature 1 mile outside the small, Hudson Valley town of Rosendale, NY. 2) The artist opportunities: They offer fellowships, studio rentals, residencies, paid-internships and grants for artists (mainly women, but not exclusively female) to come use their studios and create work. --- I, myself, was accepted as a studio intern and lived and worked on the premises for 6 months in the fall of 2005. First of all, actual shotguns? Way more fun. Loading, shooting, hell, even carrying them is more fun than that little grey gun. Missing is still fun. Popping out the shells from an over & under style shotgun, also fun, even if you catch one in the face from time to time. Really, the only thing that's the same about Duck Hunt and shooting at Mid-Hudson Sporting Clays is the dog that giggles at you after you miss. But at Mid-Hudson, he looks a lot like my friend Henry. Basically, what I'm trying to say, in a roundabout and borderline idiotic way, is that I actually love coming here. The staff is nice, they make it easy to rent a shotgun if you need one, and there are around 20 different spots to shoot along the course. It's also only mildly concerning that they ask that you put down some next of kin on the release form :) Whether you're a rank beginner (me) or an experience shooter and/or hunter (a couple of my friends), this is a great spot to shoot.

I have been driving for decades but stopped 3 years ago when I suffered a heart attack at my job. Forced to retire from working altogether, I was so overwhelmed by my medical circumstances and the fear of another heart attack, I stopped driving. This was not good for my confidence and independence, but I was too consumed with worry about my health to think about driving. A few months ago I decided that I had to start driving again for my own confidence and independence, as well as to give my husband a break from driving. I decided to call Iqbal Number 1 Driving School and I am so glad I did! Iqbal is a calming influence and a great confidence builder. He knows how to work with severely anxious people and truly is a soothing presence. He has helped me tremendously and I am grateful to him for getting me back behind the wheel again. He arranged our reservation for lunch at the Shadows and took care of every detail. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and the sails never went up. I think part of it is that Capt. Peter is on the boat by himself so coordinating the sails and navigating the river as a one man operation limits the opportunity to actually sail even if the weather may allow for it - that was the biggest disappointment, especially given the $$$. We weren't on the boat to party but rather it was a trip to sail. Otherwise everything was great and we recommend hiring Peter and Osprey, especially if you are a group and want to have a party.

Anyone who drinks wine understands how important the role of the importer is when choosing a bottle. But arranging the shop based on who imports the wine? This makes little sense when considering how most wine lovers are loyal to the idea of terroir above all - grouping wines from regions all over the world simply because the share an importer is a violation! Also, your staff should be educated about who Neal Rosenthal is, even if you don't stock wines by him.
