A couple of doors that I saw that required tickets to the event/location were the Georgia Aquarium and Botanical Garden tiny doors. I have visited many tiny doors and have even spent a day looking for them. Each door is uniquely designed for the place it is located. Each door was so special that it's hard to choose a favorite. I would recommend looking for them if you are visiting a place where one is nearby, but I wouldn't recommend dedicating time to search for these. Since the Tiny Doors ATL art project started at the Krog Street Tunnel in July 2014, founder and…read moreartist Karen Anderson Singer has become a local celebrity. At the time of writing this review, there are over 20 public art installations of tiny 7-inch doors throughout Atlanta. Each was handmade and installed by Singer who, according to CBS Sunday Morning and CNN, takes anywhere from 40 to 60 hours to make a single door. She described them as a "love note to Atlanta." Once the doors are installed, they are maintained too. The doors are really cool and unique to the City of Atlanta. Atlanta is lucky to have Singer. From the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market to the Swan House in Buckhead, Tiny Doors have been popping up in places all over ATL. During the 2021 NBA Playoffs, Singer even unveiled a door at State Farm Arena with Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins and CEO Steve Koonin: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQuTUF-r87C/. My personal favorite doors have been Door #21 on the new Atlantic Green in Atlantic Station, unveiled in October 2020, and Door #658 in Inman Park near the border with Old Fourth Ward. Door #658 was originally unveiled at the Hotel Indigo in Midtown in 2019. It's now located at the Edge OTB apartment complex, facing the Atlanta BeltLine's Eastside Trail. The door is numbered 658 because it's 658 times the size of a standard 7-inch Tiny Door. I uploaded pictures of these two doors to Tiny Doors ATL's listing here on Yelp. As a homeowner in Atlantic Station since before the retail portion of the development opened in 2005, I'm proud to have Singer and Tiny Doors ATL as a neighbor and officially Atlantic Station's "Artist in Residence" as of April 2020. DAVE IS THE MAN!…read more Since my daughter and her spouse were joining us at this year's Apple Festival, I thought that it would be a great opportunity for us to get a family caricature. I peeped the vendor list prior to my visit and decided that booth #35 would be our first stop of the day. We were the first to arrive and I quickly slid into a sit to mark my territory. Dave actually completed our last family caricature a decade ago so I knew that we were in good hands! Awesome! He is an Atlanta based artist who specializes in caricatures so he is very familiar to many. Yes, I was trying to control the process but Dave hi-jacked my plan and did his thang! It's Dave, so I wasn't worried and true to expectations, he did a great job! Our son was not present but Dave was able to add him in from a photo on one of our cell phones. It is perfect! Most caricatures are prepared in black but we decided to go for color which costs significantly more but worth it to us since we are collectors. Also since we have so many, we want them to be a bit different and the ones done in color really pop. You will actually want to splurge on this item because it not only documents a special family moment, but it is the ultimate souvenir that will last a lifetime. The process took about 45 minutes for four people (adding color takes additional time), so plan accordingly. Don't forget to bring cold hard cash!
